It's not moreso the entry limit splitting down to 2 in the end, it worked fine when we were smaller in the 2nd KwLC.
Now that we're bigger, and a lot more people entered, it's led to a situation to where those entries split down are too much to make a bracket out of.
I can assure you it's not an issue with the polls rather, making a bracket.

Rather than 2 entries going on through, it'd only be 1, being a person's 1st place entry. It would cut down a good # to allow the easy creation of a bracket.
That would be 223 entries, rather than the 386 current, and a bracket of 223 would be able to be done via challonge as it's <256.
However, it does cut ~%42 of the original entries that made it passed prelims initiallly, and plus there would be some weird issues with people that only submitted 2 sprites, that being the creation of a poll to decide which is their "1st place" sprite under something like that

Currently on my break, so I’ve got some time to answer this.
If you were to do “2 different brackets”, it leads to an issue of how do you cleanly move a Sprite from Winners into Losers once it well, loses? While a bracket may have a Winner’s and Losers bracket, it is still one bracket at the end that flows into each other at Grand Finals.
It also leads to a more fair result of the contest because all sprites past prelims start on that 2-elim fairground rather than some being 1-elim away instantly and others not.
((so in truth, it’s a good thing))

To be specific I was thinking of doing some stuff w/ Togepi’s shell, like having some bits of it floating around the main body or maybe replacing some stuff w/ larger chunks of it (hence the comment about things that used to be part of a Pokémon). I figured the smaller fragments might count as effects but the larger ones might not?
I like this idea so I’ll probably do this sprite anyways even if I don’t submit it for the contest, but I don’t want to spend several days making it look nice only to find out it isn’t eligible ^^;
