I think some of you guys need to keep in mind that this document was explained to be his honest, personal thoughts explaining why something got an award and something didn't

He announced that he would be harsh well in advance, so calling him a dick and whatever is missing the point imo. The fact that he went through the work of making such an extensive document is insane in the first place. Could have just as well only announced the award winners. And maybe that would have been better who knows, but I appreciate the honest thoughts on everything ~~even if I don't have the right to have an opinion because I didn't get negative feedback of course ~~

What I'm trying to say: Were some parts a bit too harsh and sometimes even rude and discouraging? Maybe? Probably definetly for some people. Everyone takes feedback differently afterall. But this was never meant to be ballanced, grounded feedback for everything. This was just supposed to document his feelings and thought process for every sprite and for what he thinks deserves and award and what not. Him saying nothing positive about the garbodor for example doesn't mean that he thinks the sprite is total trash. It just means that he thinks it fails to qualify for an award based on different things

So yeah, is there stuff for our gamr man to do better next time? Sure. But I think its also important to see this document for what it is and don't interpret it as gamr taking his chance to finally shit all over your art which he has secretly always hated and now finally has a way to express.

However, yes - while most of the feedback in the doc was harsh but fair, the comments directed towards yours, imo, cross over into more cruel and callous, it could've been worded way better and I understand your anger towards it. It's an important thing to discuss, and it would be good to see what Gamr has to say about this reaction to doc, it'll be important to consider how people actually feel about something like this

For sanity check: the critiques do come off a bit pretentious (the part about "you didn't make the other forms bob up and down like the main one therefore they're worse" was really silly). But also, if that's how they genuinely feel, one person disliking your sprite isn't the end of the world. The sprite was obviously heavily voted for which is why it won, so people generally like it and think it's good. That's probably a more worthwhile takeaway than one person's writeup.
