I just came up with the ultimate way of playing Pokemon: The Tomate-Nuzlocke:
You are allowed to catch as many Pokemon you want wherever you want, but there are a bunch of activities that give you points and the goal is to beat the game while gaining as few points as possible.

Activities that give you points:
-Catching a Pokemon that has already evolved once: 10 points
-Catching a Pokemon that has already evolved twice: 50 points
-Evolving a Pokemon: 20 Points
-For every level that one of your Pokemon grows above the level of the weakest Pokemon of the next gym leader before that gym leader is defeated: 1 point
-Catching a legendary Pokemon: 100 points
-Using an item in battle: 3 points
-Throwing any number of Pokeballs in one battle: 1 point

It would actually be really fun to see how low the score could get for every game and stuff

Let me rephrase that. Pokémon has never been the type of game that tells its story through hours of cinematic cutscenes, so how is it in any way meaningful to compare its cutsenes to a game that does?

That's like saying Pokémon is a bad game because it doesn't have as many dialog options and branching paths as Life is Strange.

Sun and Moon is exactly that. Hours of cutscenes.

And I'm not saying I'm expecting crazy fighting choreography in cutscenes. But I am expecting good animation. That includes people not rotating and the rival actually throwing a ball at the dog.
And to move further, I expect them to evolve the animations of the pokemon, so that punching moves actually have a punching animation and biting moves a biting animation.
But they haven't touched the models since 2013 aside from better textures.

Also, you haven't said anything about the point I made about the exp share. Which is still the main point for why I absolutely dislike Gen 8 (and lets go)

Those barely qualify as cutscenes in the first place, or at least not the kind of cutscenes you're thinking of like the ones in Xenoblade. They're entirely dialog-based which is my point, the focus is on the writing, not the animation. And the battle animations are a different discussion entirely, we can get back to that later.

I'm also disappointed in the exp share. I still miss when that was an item so you could actually choose which pokémon to level up.
