The first one that comes up with an error saying it can't be created is a raichu-slowpoke fusion I believe. I don't know why. I'll try to extract it again when I get home

the large file is just because of the sprites so there's no need to redownload them if they were all extracted already. Just download the latest patch and copy the contents in the data folder, replacing what's already there

I do believe though that something went wrong in the extraction process, as when I was extracting I was told it could not create certain .png's. I pressed retry several times but it did not do anything. Just wanted to give all the info I could get without my computer

yeah, that's probably it. What program were you using for extracting? Maybe try using another one. 7zip usually works pretty well.

@chilly kayak well first I tried winrar, that didn't work, so I used 7zip, that didn't work either, so qt314xxx sent me a few zips with all the files in them. But the error I'm getting is not their fault, as my computer had the same issue with the zips as it did the direct downloads.

Not very, actually it's relatively new, but it's not a very good computer. It has windows 8 and 2 gb of ram (I know it's disgusting)
But the thing is, it can run any other game on that same engine perfectly fine.

The game uses an (admiteddly completely ridiculous) number of sprites. That's why it can be harder to run than most other essentials games and why it takes so long to extract. I'm working on a way to reduce it by using spritesheets instead of individual files but for now there's not really any way around it if your computer can't handle it :/

I'm wondering if the flash drive is choking on the huge amount of files. I might try extracting JUST the battlers folder (and any other folders where this is happening) to your actual hard drive, then move that to your flash drive, one chunk at a time.
And now that I think of it, try extracting just part of the battlers folder (a part that hasn't worked yet) to your flash drive and see if it can handle that.

i think the reason is
the game in randomizer simply shifts around positions of the pokemon
since its trying to unsplice a mewtwo that was sent somewhere else via randomizer, it doesnt know where it is and simply crashes

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but I downloaded and installed the standalone for v4.0 without uninstalling 3.1.3. I then unzipped (to the same folder as 3.1.3, but in their own individual folders.)
The game seems to have either found my old save file or integrated it somehow because when I launched 4.0 my old save popped up.
I'm wondering if I've caused myself any potential issues and should restart or call myself lucky and keep playing?

Upon further inspection the new numerical system has caused all my pokemon to change (fusions inc) but have kept their old movesets
Eg Kabubra (Kabuto/Kadabra) is now a Mafairy (Mareep/Clefairy) typing has changed, ability changed, not sure about stats but moves are unchanged.

It does use the same save file, I recommend to talk to the sunglasses-dude on the top floor of the pokemon center, which is supposed to revert the pokemon to their species before the update, but if that doesn't work you should probably just restart
Or, if you're already far in the game, you can try reverting to 3.0, unfusing your pokemon, then going to 4.0 and refusing them again

I'm kind of tempted to run with it, some changes worked well, others not so well. Unfusing seems to fix most issues, a few traded pokemon are stuck as strange combinations. I did manage to pick up a charizard, blastoise, wartortle, tyranitar and a Polisaur(politoad/venusaur)
Then again, I was committed to a restart anyway. Will deleting the save file in game or in windows be better?

You could always backup your save if you want, but if you want to restart removing the old save or choosing new game in the game itself both works
And you can backup your save by just placing it in a different folder

I dont think they are, I've had it happen with squirtle/mankey, tangela/zubat and hoothoot/nidoran.
The one thing I can think of is that this is very early game and these were in almost all cases 1 level apart (up to 2). So the difference in their total xps would have been pretty small.
Otherwise I have a bug and my game is just treating all fusion as though they are the same level.
It has some benefits I guess, but it could make it hard to get the fusion you want with the base stats/ivs you want.
atm it's no bother to me at all, just wanted to report it mostly.

Yes. 24 minutes is a full cycle of day(12 minutes) and night(12 minutes).

@DoubleJ#2867 It's a gameboy/DS game ported to PC. Full screen would be stretching a roughly 4" screen to at least 13" at the very least. I don't kbow what you'd expect that to look like considering the default pop up size is already 3 times as large as the original.

Making a program to identify pokemon through computer vision would be tough. (and you would have to make a screenshot to feed the program wich doesn't sound very pratical). The names could be a better way but the naming convention seem to differ from one pokemon to another so I am not really sure how they are choosen. as an example, Spearow and metapod -> Spearpod. and in the other wau Metarow. Spearow have 7 letter and metapod 7 as well, we could assume it use half the letter for each but it's not the case, spear is more than half the letter and in spearow case, the "r" is use in both way. I am sure there is a logical way the name are chosen, if you can figure that out we could identify the base pokemon through their name (well... most of them. Because some of them may have the same fusion name even through they are fuse with different pokemon)

re - randomize you dex again maybe. you might have been unlucky twice
it's probably just an error in the code that go one beyond capacity. I don't know how to code in RPG maker but in some other languages we often use conditon such as variable_x <= variable_y . (variable_x inferior or equal to variable_y). But sometime what we ment was variable_x < variable_y (variable_x strickly inferior to variable_y). tiny mistake than can make you check one element too far.

@chilly kayak How right is the information in the pokemon.txt in the drive or more importantly in which order are the base stats in the base stats line. I checked few of them and it's look like it's hp,att,def, speed, spe att, spe def. In bulbapedia, pokepedia (evrywhere else really) the order is hp, att, def, spe att, spe def, speed. So I was wondering if you were using this file inside the game and if so, if you were checking the base stats in the same order in the file, or if you mix up speed, spe att and spe def. I have no way to check that in game myself so that's why I am asking

the saves is in another folder that the game so you dont have to worry about that
if you still want to make a backup which is always a good idea, save are located in C:/User/(PC Name)/Saved Games/Pokemon Infinite Fusion
the game load only game.rxdata, so you can rename the savefile, or create a backup folder in there

I don't think you have to make a backup though. If you just want to re-install the game. You just need to delete de game folder and re-download it

does anyone know if there is a text file i can open to change the player's name Trying to set up a dual run with someone else with the same randomization but we want separate names.

Go to you save file C:/users/(your user name)/Saved Game/Pokémon infinit fusion/Game.rxdata
Then open it with notepad++ (you might have to download it if you don't have it) . Other text editor might work as well but I tested it with this one (I think the regular windows text editors are a no go). Then search for your trainer name and replace it with another name that have the same amount of letter. This is important. If you don't use the same amount of letter the file will be corrupt . Probably because the program that read the save file expect a specific amount of letter specify before the trainer name in the file but you can't edit it directly because it's not wrote directly in visible character but in binary.
I highly recomend to backup your save before attempting that.
There is probably better ways like downloading rpg maker xp and open it with it but I don't have it to test so... yeah
