If your game is opening and immediately closing, you likely need to do a full reinstall in a new folder. You should be deleting all of your old game/launcher folders! DO NOT MIX OLD AND NEW FILES!

Reinstalling on Windows does not affect Save Files in any way. For all other platforms, refer to the installation guides for your device!

For windows only!

  1. Delete your old game or launcher folder.
  2. Reinstall from either option in #downloads

You can press F1 (FN + F1 on laptops) to change your keybindings!

Be aware, controllers will be auto mapped to buttons depending on which controller you plug in.

If you want to remap buttons on controller, you need to use Steam since this game doesn't support it. How to use Steam: [Guide](#tech-support message)

Note: Some controller may send ghost inputs to the game causing your game to repeatedly go through menus when you're not touching it. In these cases, unplug any controllers you have plugged in.

I am currently trying to get the updater to run on Bottles. I have it set up as a separate program and every time I attempt to launch with terminal, the above error comes up.

I downloaded through the official Subreddit and followed the Linux install instructions.

I am currently on NixOS (Linux) and the game itself runs just fine through Bottles.

Running version 6.7.2

I didn't see anything in the installation instructions on what do do regarding this error.

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to the help man in the Pokecenter and go to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not downloading, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.
Step 4. If that did not fix it: head to a pokecenter > talk to the man in a black suit with sunglasses and navigate to Sprite Settings and select "Reset sprite cache" & "Reset displayed alt sprites".

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

  • Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

  • Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

Hey @frail cape! Black screen in this game is the loading screen. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer and YOUR internet.

  • If you get the message below while opening the game, this means to stop clicking/pressing buttons on the screen as it is loading.
  • If you get the message after the intro animation, turn off your internet and try again. If the issue persists, turn off download data as well. (This will cause missing sprites if you used the lightweight installer!)
  • If you get the message while in game, this means your computer is struggling.

Im downoading the game on a new android device, and I noticed a phrasing that is a bit confusing in one of the instructions. Could someone clarify the correct path forward for me

  • Step 4: ..."Long-tap InfiniteFusionAndroid.zip and choose 'extract to InfiniteFusionAndroid/' (this will be the first option)
  • then, late in step 4
  • repeat this process for PIFAndroidPlugins.zip

Only... when I longpress PIFAndroidPlugins.zip, the first option is no longer "extract to InfiniteFusionAndroid/", infact this isnt an option at all. My options are:

  1. Extract to PIFAndroidPlugins/
  2. Extract here
  3. Extract files...
  4. Copy to clipboard
  5. Paste
  6. New Folder
  7. Delete
  8. Rename

Soooo, when "repeating this process" am I supposed to Extract to InfiniteFusionAndroid/ somehow (though it isnt one of the immediate options)? Or do I "select the first option" which is "Extract to PIFAndroidPlugins/"

But, this is definitely a step that could potentially confuse people, as repeating the previous process as its stated verbatim (extracting to InfiniteFusionAndroid/) is not possible.

I'd propose changing which part of the instructions are in the parenthesis and saying something like:

"Long-tap InfiniteFusionAndroid.zip and choose the first option (this option should say "Extract to InfiniteFusionAndroid/")

Then in the instructions of this step that just says "repeat this process for PIFAndroidPlugins.zip", add a parenthesis that says (but, this time select the option that says "Extract to PIFAndroidPlugins/")

After any new game update, you need to rerandomize the settings you have enabled.

If you have only pokemon randomized, you need to Reshuffle Wild Pokemon. If you have more options, reshuffle each.

This is done in the Pokemon Center -> Update Man (guy in black suit) -> Click Advanced Settings -> You will see the Reshuffle options

Hey i'm having trouble getting sprites into my game, I'm allowing the game to automatically download the sprites as it runs but there's no indicator on if its making any progress or what the progress is. I have some sprites but not all of them and I'm wondering if I can check the status or force it to have all sprites available. I'm running on a fresh install of the game running an older save file from last year. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to get all sprites running?

How to Update to the Latest Version (Windows)

  • If you're on or above 6.6.0 double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat to update.
  • If you're below 6.6.0 you must either reinstall in a NEW folder (since the updater won't work due to bugs).
  • Reinstalling doesn’t remove or require you to move any Save Files.
  • If playing on a Randomized save, make sure to reshuffle after updating. Use ?tag reshuffle if you need help.

I think my game either broke or glitched because I beat Master Koga and got HM03 Surf from the secret house, but when I went to route 19 and tried to use surf (I taught surf to my Lycandos) it said "Sorry, You need a new badge for that"

Beware of Unofficial Websites That Claim To Be Official.

The only official sources to download the game are here, the game's subreddit or the pokecommunity thread.

To clean out your computer:

  1. Delete all the save files from the fake files. It's not recommended to keep these, as they have bugs and fake data that the normal game doesn't have.
    🔵 Your game folder has a shortcut that you double click named Savefile to take you to the location to delete all save files. They are named File A.rxdata.
  2. Delete any zipped/unzipped folders from there
  3. Run a virus scan

After doing all the steps, use #downloads to download the real files.

To fix crashes on specific trainers in legendary mode:

  1. Leave the area (if in a building, go outside)
  2. In the Game Options, toggle trainers from classic to remix (or vice versa)
  3. Go back to that trainer and try again.
  4. After the battle, you may change the trainers back to their original setting.

If you get a different crash when you toggle the trainers, try moving to a different area.

How to restore to a backup save

This only works if you had Auto Save turned on and using 6.4+

  1. Open your game folder
  2. Double click SaveFile
  3. Double click the folder named backups
  4. Double click the folder of the save slot you’re reverting. Ex: File A
  5. Rename the most recent file to File A.rxdata (The letter will be different if you’re reverting a different save slot)
  6. Copy the newly renamed file and paste it into the previous folder. (This will be the folder you had open after step 2) When asked to replace, click yes.

Note: If you don't feel comfortable overriding the save, you can rename it to a different letter on step 5. Ex: File B.rxdata instead of File A.rxdata

Ok idk what exactly caused it but my game crashed after going into the pokemon appreciation club on kin island. I grabbed leech life, talked to the lady. Headed left then up into that building. It was Squirtle appreciation day. I beat 1 guy the when I tried talking to another a bunch of text came up and my game crashed. I opened it back up and it's working fine. I did the same thing except today is teddiursa appreciation day so idk if that changes anything. I talked to everyone in there and am now continuing mu journey. Thought I'd at least say something in case Squirtle day specifically causes a bug. The guy I talked to 2nd was upper left.

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to the help man in the Pokecenter and go to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not downloading, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.

Hey @hexed cairn! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

  • Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

  • Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

I have played a pervious version on this laptop before, but I had to fresh install windows a few months ago and went to reinstall via the reddit post, but the game keeps turning on momentarily showing one of the loading titles then shutting off without an error. eventually aft'er trying the preloaded download i did get an Script 'Main' line 35: ScriptError: occurred
001_Tilemap_XP.rb:iseq_compile_each: unknown node (NODE_SCOPE)

I clicked ok and tried again with the performance file. same ScriptError but different .rb file

I just tried to attach the snips of it and the update cmd but got automodded for attachments, so hopefully this description works. Not sure what to try to get this to work 🙁

I restarrted my computer and my wireless adaptor with the exceptions and now ran as admin, it has turned on to the menu and seems to be running! I managed to start the game save and start a randomized run!!

Step 4. If that did not fix it: head to a pokecenter > talk to the man in a black suit with sunglasses and navigate to Sprite Settings and select "Reset sprite cache" & "Reset displayed alt sprites".
Step 5. If that did not fix it, delete any game or launcher folders and do a full reinstall using the preloaded files in #downloads .
Step 6. After reinstalling, repeat step 4.

On the steam app, click on these and browse until your find the Infinite Fusion app, it will add it to your library and you can configure your controller from there

I'm not in disagreement there I can run it fine on my husband's desktop and my old laptop! I also could run it before my mobo/cpu got replaced back in Feb so there might of been something that happened when windows got reinstalled :/ might just have to forgo it on my current machine

How to restore to a backup save

This only works if you had Auto Save turned on and using 6.4+

  1. Open your game folder
  2. Double click SaveFile
  3. Double click the folder named backups
  4. Double click the folder of the save slot you’re reverting. Ex: File A
  5. Rename the most recent file to File A.rxdata (The letter will be different if you’re reverting a different save slot)
  6. Copy the newly renamed file and paste it into the previous folder. (This will be the folder you had open after step 2) When asked to replace, click yes.

Note: If you don't feel comfortable overriding the save, you can rename it to a different letter on step 5. Ex: File B.rxdata instead of File A.rxdata
