The most likely reason your game is opening and closing is due to improperly updated game files. We mention in #downloads to not update ANY files versions below 6.6.0.

Are the instructions for downloading outdated? My game just started crashing after only a couple minutes of playing after getting to Celadon so tried a complete reinstall since I had started to replay from a download from earlier this year that I updated, but instead of getting only two files like it says I should, I get a whole folder full. I still followed steps to run install or update file but after that completed, I didn't see the message the instructions said I would and my game then crashed on character creation. I only saw 2 error codes of the 7 crashes I just went through but those two weren't related and I didn't screenshot. Basically just trying to make sure game is installed right

How to restore to a backup save

This only works if you had Auto Save turned on and using 6.4+

1. Open your game folder
2. Double click SaveFile
3. Double click the folder named backups
4. Double click the folder of the save slot you’re reverting. Ex: File A
5. Rename the most recent file to File A.rxdata (The letter will be different if you’re reverting a different save slot)
6. Copy the newly renamed file and paste it into the previous folder. (This will be the folder you had open after step 2) When asked to replace, click yes.

Note: If you don't feel comfortable overriding the save, you can rename it to a different letter on step 5. Ex: File B.rxdata instead of File A.rxdata

The most likely reason your game is opening and closing is due to improperly updated game files. We mention in #downloads to not update ANY files versions below 6.6.0.

If you're using the Launcher:

1. Reinstall version 1.1.2 of the launcher from #downloads
2. Open the settings tab
3. Click "Reset Config"
   NOTE: The original path that the launcher shows will be your old game folder. That folder should be deleted. The new game folder will be in PIFLauncher(#.#.#)/GameFiles/InfiniteFusion

If you're encountering missing sprites

**If you just updated to 6.6, do the reset cache steps mentioned in this #announcements message post.
**The game comes with all sprites preinstalled, up until the February 2025 Pack.
The remaining packs will be downloaded as you play, as long as you have "Download Data" turned on and your device is connected to wifi. You do not need to do anything for them.

Keep in mind, the auto download does not have infinite speed or capacity and will not trigger if you are not actively encountering new sprites (ex; battling, checking the Pokedex, etc.).
After downloading X amount of sprites per time unit Y, it will be paused for a bit. We cannot adjust this limit and there is nothing you can do as the player to skip it or make it go faster.

The first time you encounter a base Pokemon, it will select a random one of all sprites, if it is a new one that hasn't been downloaded yet, it will show as missing.
The same goes for fusions but with a little more nuance. To keep it simple, think of it the same.
Again, nothing wrong with your game. You just hit a download cap.

Note: Updating your game resets all your auto-downloaded sprites. do not attempt to "fix" this with updating. It will just make everything start from the beginning.

the new repo where sprites are hosted isn't free, there's a limit to how many sprites it will send to the game [Z cap] before it can't anymore until a set amount of time passes

that is why we lost access to the old repo, it was 24/7 downloads and it finally flipped a trigger and gitlab went "No no no, we do not do that here"

the cap exists so we don't flip the same kind of trigger with the new host and run the risk of the dev having to yet again find a new host for sprite downloads

The only way for a game to be 'up to date' on custom sprites is to have all the pokemon and then 1 by 1 fuze every single combination over time taking breaks when you hit the cap. It would take hours to do and is honestly just silly. It would take a lot of hard drive space. 25,000+ imagines is a lot. It's more than most people will ever need in a given run. It doesn't make sense to download pokemon sprites you're never going to see, so it gives you sprites on a per use basis. I'm just an idiot that just plays the game it has been more then adequate

I finally got to get it working... But I fused my female charmander with a genderless hoothoot, then unfuse which gave me a female bird and a male charmander... And then fusing the salamander with a female spearow and unfusing, everyone is male... The natures changed wildly and the ivs too... Is fusing always that messy ?

this can change things like gender, nature, ability, ivs/evs

heck, you can even "create" a shiny out of thin air

Assuming you lost Ember and want it back? You can see if you can get it from the guy on the 2nd floor of the pokemon center in Pewter. Just go up the stairs and he's on the left. $1000 per move you want to relearn. It seems like a lot for where you're at but after you get the ammulet coin for doing 5 quests you'll be swimming in poke bucks

There's an item for changing abilities that you can get in Crimson City. You just need surf and $9,500. It wont let you switch to the hidden ability but it will let you pick one of the base abilities. As far as IV and Nature no. The reroll that happens is just something that happens and isn't really a feature. You could save, unfuse and then see what you got. Reload the save if you don't like the results and try again. It could be a long process but is an option

my freshly installed PIF (downloaded from this server) doesn't has them, and it cause all my pokemon sprite to be missing.

• Auto download data ON in setting doesn't work
• Reset sprite cache & reset alt by suit man in pokecenter doesn't work
• A full game reinstall still doesn't has any sprite
• There is no spritesheet file in Full Sprite Pack, only individual png of pokemon
• Manually import every individual sprites to the game might be my last resort, but it will definitely bloat my gamesize

This error usually means your Chromebook is a model that doesn’t support the version of wine you installed
Unfortunately that isn’t something we can help through since we don’t have any chrome books. I believe there’s a video on the Chromebook guide however at the end

i had the same problem the only way to fix it is to just deal with the flashing untill you can change it

you will need to unfortunately power through that to get to the main menu so you can change it

then once you load up a save, you can change it again and save it

you need to use the pokemon in battle or fuse them assuming you have download data turned on

i'm also not sure the sprite will auto change once the game downloads one

so you'd need to periodically check the alts

To change a Pokemon's sprite to an alternative one, go to their Pokedex entry (this can be done from their summary screen) and go to the "Sprites" tab. Here you can scroll through the different available sprites.
