Hey @rugged crane! If you are on version 5.3.1.2 and higher, follow the info below. If you are on a version lower or don't see the files, you will need to reinstall the game in a new folder using our guides (this doesn't delete your save): [HERE](#tech-support message)

Lightweight Installer Update:

  1. Open your game folder
  2. Double click 'INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat'

App Installer Update:

  1. Open the App
  2. Click Installation Menu -> Update Game -> Click Update

Both options will update the game files for you. If it didn't, rerun the update and wait for it to finish. Take and share a screenshot of the window to #tech-support

When selecting Custom Starters (not Gen 1) on a new save, Select Yes when asked to skip the intro. This will avoid the crash from starting the game with a non Gen 1 starter.

The game and app launcher were installed successfully and the game works fine, but it doesn't recognize the controls I set in the F1 menu. I've already reinstalled, wiped all default controls and only set the ones I want to use, tried before and after saves, doesn't work. For both keyboard and controller, although I haven't tried the steam thing yet for controller support

Yea, I’m not sure why your f1 keybinding isn’t working. Controllers usually don’t work via the keybinding menu but keyboard should work just fine. You may need to use a third party keybinding app in order to get them to successfully bind

The only official sources to download the game are here, the game's subreddit or the pokecommunity thread.

If you did download from a fake site, go through these steps:

  1. Delete all the save files from the fake files. It's not recommended to keep these, as they have bugs and data that the normal game doesn't have.
    🔵 Your game folder has a shortcut that you double click named Savefile to take you to the location to delete all save files. They are named File A.rxdata.
  2. Delete any zipped/unzipped folders from there
  3. Run a virus scan

alright, so basically i was watching the guide that megman put for mac, opened the game successfully and then played for like 7h and decided to close once and open again using winestable , as i was supposed to and it did work, today i wake up and i try to open it but everytime i try to open winestable, it opens up but nothing happens. Old data in your Game folder is crashing or causing issues with your game. To fix:

Lightweight Installer:

  1. Open your Game Folder
  2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
  3. Double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

App Installer:

  1. Open the App -> Click Settings -> Click Open Game Folder
  2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
  3. Go back to the App -> Installation Menu -> Update Game

Afterwards, reopen the game.

If you are having sudden performance issues out of nowhere, restart your computer (no joke). Don’t shut down the computer as it just puts it to sleep. Use the restart option to free up processes on your computer.

When randomizing the game, you can only randomize Trainers and Gym leaders if you are playing Classic or Randomized Mode.

Randomizing trainers on Remix and Expert Mode will crash trainer battlers.

Steps:

  1. Go to a Pokemon Center and talk to Help Man (guy in black suit)
  2. Select Advanced Settings -> Randomizer Settings -> Turn Trainers/Gyms OFF

Hey @haughty heron! Magic Boots are an IN GAME reward for catching all unfused 470 Pokemon in a non-randomized file (Dex number 1-470). After doing so, the Developer in Celadon will reward you with them. Putting them on will unlock DEBUG options that you can play with.

Beware of Unofficial Websites That Claim To Be Official.

The only official sources to download the game are here, the game's subreddit or the pokecommunity thread.

If you did download from a fake site, go through these steps:

  1. Delete all the save files from the fake files. It's not recommended to keep these, as they have bugs and data that the normal game doesn't have.
    🔵 Your game folder has a shortcut that you double click named Savefile to take you to the location to delete all save files. They are named File A.rxdata.
  2. Delete any zipped/unzipped folders from there
  3. Run a virus scan

After doing all the steps, use megaman's post to download the real files: ➡️ #downloads message ⬅️

Lightweight Installer Update:

  1. Open your game folder
  2. Double click 'INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat'

App Installer Update:

  1. Open the App
  2. Click Installation Menu -> Update Game -> Click Update

Both options will update the game files for you. If it didn't, rerun the update and wait for it to finish. Take and share a screenshot of the window to #tech-support

Hey @slender echo! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.
