Hey @mystic venture! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.

Please be patient until the next larger update where you can customize your trainer further since only 3 outfits are available at the moment. The old way of changing custom player sprites will not work anymore.

So, I'm like 99% sure the PokeRadar is broken for me somehow? I started a fresh randomizer run, didn't rerandomize or change anything at all setting wise, did the pokeradar quest since I found an Abra naturally even on randomizer, and beforehand it didn't have any issues when wild pokemon was randomized, but this time it is showing a completely different set of randomized pokemon on the route I receive the PokeRadar on, and I cannot complete the second part of the quest nor would the PokeRadar be useful as I checked other Routes and it still didn't have the right pokemon being shown on the PokeRadar.

I reinstalled today the launcher to have it up to date because it's been a few months since I launched the game, unfortunately there are some pokemon that do not even appear when I meet them, like there is no sprite (not even the old question mark). Hey @meager mountain! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.

couple of reasons this can happen, and only you can know for 3/4 of them:

• Cheating at any point.
• Playing on a save that was used on a fake version of the game (anything you got from a website, we dont have a website)
• Playing a newer version save on an older version game (shouldnt be the case since you dont have the beta role)
• old data messing up the game files.

Old data in your Game folder is crashing or causing issues with your game. To fix:

Lightweight Installer:

1. Open your Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

App Installer:

1. Open the App -> Click Settings -> Click Open Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Go back to the App -> Installation Menu -> Update Game

Afterwards, reopen the game.

steamdeck comes with all sprites by default, so if you installed it after sept 21st, you should be good, if you downloaded before, you miight run into missing sprites from time to time probably

Also I’d have to confirm with Megaman but I don’t think the install_or_update.bat updates the sprites. Pretty sure you’d have to manually add them in for preloaded on deck.
