yeah it needs to be extracted for it to work, especially because you are only moving 1 folder to your graphics folder. The new app installer does this for you if you need a tool for it

just the game needs a folder where its easy to access all the files, prefered on your C drive on the desktop, thats the easiest

after the game is installed you can remove it to somwhere else (tho, it might decrease performance)

for example, i have the app launcher on my external E drive, the game itself is on my desktop

Hey @gleaming wren! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.

If your internet is slow, i recommend from the app installer selecting Install Custom Sprites first

that way you do half the download. Then install preloaded sprites after to do the rest. Makes it easier on your internet 😅

that means it is your computer having a hard time loading the game. What version of windows you on?

I would recommend going to the Pokemon Center and talking to Update Man and selecting Fix Game.

Also if you haven't restarted your computer, not shut down, but restart, you should do that. Your computer is not able to stay consistent in loading the game

give me a second to save my progress in my game lol but we have a very SMALL number of users with this issue where after following everything, it doesn't work. We are not sure why because it works for 95% of ppl.

What has fixed it for some users is:

1. Making sure they downloaded GE-proton
2. Making sure you installed on your main drive (desktop best place)
3. Make sure you downloaded and extracted the zip from your steam deck itself. File transferring the folder seems to give issues

Hey @tranquil marsh! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Hey @clear marten! Are you trying to add more custom sprites to your game? You can find the most up to date sprite pack containing all custom sprites in #downloads! To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

The issue here is you have like duplicate of every file and folder for the game here

4. Delete every item in this folder, but don't delete the folder.

I selected my Game folder and clicked the update button. After the "Update Complete!" prompt appears and the app re-opens, I noticed that it removed the MinGit folder and the version is still 6.0.3.
