The apk is in the same folder the plug ins were to install the game. Version 1.20.53 is the latest version that did change how things were rendered. Wonder if on your device, it breaks the rendering

When you get to the last trainer in the elite 4, make sure to save your game prior. You will need to switch to that EliteFix apk or else you can't proceed. The game gets stuck there.

But other than that, you can stick to just using 1.20.53

So I've been playing this game for a while now, and I've never had a problem with the dynamic version of the game downloading sprites on the fly. For some reason a few days ago I tried to play again, and suddenly got slammed with the horrendous loading times for every single encounter. It makes the game completely unplayable.

I know if your internet is unstable, or your hardware is bad this is known to happen, but my PC is powerful and my internet hasn't experienced any slowdowns at all. Does anyone know why this problem would suddenly crop up out of the blue for someone who's been playing the game perfectly smoothly for many months? I've tried reinstalling/updating the game, but no dice...

I even tried to go the preloaded-route, but haven't been able to get it to work without an error message popping up when I launch Game-Preloaded.exe.

1. Reinstall the game will make your game slower. You basically erased your sprites so you'd need to redownload them
2. Have you restarted your computer? Not shut down, but actually restarted your computer? This will restart processes that have slowed down

with megamans installer, you can download the custom sprites and the preloaded sprites to run the preloaded launcher

Also preloaded didn't work for you because you didn't install the correct sprites

but I suggest first restarting your computer. Install with the app installer, install the custom sprites with the menu options, and test it out

Thanks for the help. While restarting didn't help with the dynamic version of the game, I did install the missing sprite packs and was able to run the preloaded game. Interesting note... I still get an error/crash when I run the .exe file, but the game successfully launches when I use the megaman launcher. I wonder why that is.

Reasons why the launcher works and you opening manually doesn't:

1. You might have 2 game folders. one without the sprites and one with.
2. The launcher will only open the game preloaded if everything is setup and you enabled the checkbox in Settings to open as preloaded. So this would mean the folder linked to the launcher has everything setup correctly.
3. You never checked the checkbox in the launcher so you are opening the regular game

Hi, i have been having trouble trying to update my game. I had version 5.1.1.1 and downloaded the new version and it said to link it to my old files which i did but it didnt update. I deleted all the 5.1.1.1 files after game-help told me to, and now it keeps popping up with this error message and i do not know what to do.

Hey @weak tendon! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.

I confirmed this is a corrupted file from the sprite repo. This fusion will cause a crash unless you manually change the sprite yourself

confirming with sprite manager to see if this is a sprite error or bug report and I will post it after

Hey, so a while ago I updated my game so that I was on the right version, but I ran into a problem:
when I started it up, I was at mount ember and I did all of the stuff inside and caught moltress, got the pass, etc.
But, since I hadn't triggered the quest from the guy who got his boat stolen, when I went back to Cinnabar the boat was stolen by TR and now, even though I have tried to fix it and have went back and forth, I have no access to that boat. Is there anything I can adjust in the code or do to fix it? :(

Hey everyone, I have the game on my laptop, which has a dualboot Windows/linux, with a "home" partition that is shared between the two, in order for me to have access to the files/games/whatever between the two OS's.

I have been playing for a while on Windows, and have several saves, but while on a break I wanted to play from linux. however when I run the game on linux, it shows the main menu thing as if I had no save files, do you know of anyway to force the game to find and use the same save files that it uses on windows ?

I know, but I don't mind the game being "slower" or less optimised or whatnot on linux, I'm using WINE/Proton, and my laptop has sufficient horsepower to run the game just fine.
It's just that switching from linux to windows is a pain (date is incorrect and it messes with some of the apps I uses), and windows uses my laptop's battery much much faster (as in battery last twice as long on linux)

The game looks into the windows appdata folder for your save file. I don't know about linux, but if you have 2 different windows profiles it won't find your save on the other one.

Nope, I created a Symlink to the savefile on windows into the App Data Wine uses to emulate the Windows file hierarchy, so the game finds the correct file even though it's looking in the wrong place

And it overwrites the Windows save file

That might mean your graphics card is crashing it but I suggest reinstalling as well in case you are missing base maps of the game.

No, that is a unique setup though. I would assume the AppData path isn’t the same when you load Linux vs Windows though right? Wouldn’t their hard drive be partitioned for 2 drives so it would be separate?

Yeah each OS stores their AppData path is different places that is why he didn’t see them until he created that Symlink. That basically confirms though if you wanted to like sync a save file you can have a shortcut from your SaveFile folder to like a google drive and reference it there as a shortcut

That depends on your PC. The game does a lot of calculations on the fly. So if you in an area that loaded with a lot of Pokemon and your computer isn’t that fast, it could cause lag.

If not, there is something definitely about your monitors/graphics card crashing the game since you mention it is directly related to you clicking out of the game or changing focus to another monitor

1. Go to your save folder.
2. Create a new folder.
3. Move everything except your current save file and keybind file into the new folder
4. This will leave you with 1 save file and test out to see if you still crash. Your save files are just moved to another folder. You can move them back later

Hey @hushed crescent! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.
