Your save file is stored in a different location (roaming\AppData), so you can even keep playing your save whilst the fresh download and unpacking takes place.

Also, I'd recommend a fresh download of the full game to a separate folder. Make a backup of your save file then trying running it through the fresh install to see if the problem duplicates.

Weirder than you might think. Everything in the game files calls on data based off of the root folder, which doesn't change in any way regardless of where you put it.

It's most likely a weird parsing issue with RGSS, but at least now there's a few confirmed cases of this being a fix.

Okay, so there's like two things you can try

#

The first is a pipe dream - redownload the game and hope that there was some kinda fil corruption or extraction error in the game files.

The second is to lose some progress, but not all of it. Navigate to your save folder, find Game.rxdata

Hey I'd had the green and black stripes problem and went through the solution in the pinned message and had my game working for a few days but upon trying to start the game today found the green and black stripes issue occurring again. As far as I can tell the settings I changed to fix the issue are still correct so I can't really change them to refix it since there isnt anything to change. ANy advice?

Actually NVM, My computer seems to have reset some of those settings when it restarted so the same fix from before seems to work. For anyone else having this issue its worth going through the windows Graphics panel rather than using the control panel for your graphics card. My Nvidia control panel said the game was being run on optimal performance mode but when I opened up my windows control panel it was set to "Let windows decide" and windows deciding to use power saver mode is what caused the issue.

Nah, if you'd started a new file you wouldn't encounter the issue. Going from 4.9 to 5.0 causes some kinda syntax issue, or the move IDs are different, I don't really know.

For future note the "missing game.ini?" Error seems to be a filepath or syntax issue.

90% of the time the fix is to rename the game folder to something without symbols or numbers, and/or to move the entire folder to another location on the computer with a cleaner path or universal permissions (like the desktop)

If you rename the files to something without numbers and possibly move the folder to your desktop, that seems to work for people with the issue

This is an odd issue I'm running into. SO after downloaded the 5.0.3 game zip from the downloads channel, my system seems unable to right click on the file to unzip it. it will make my file explorer unresponsive. The same issue does not happen when unziping the patch or sprite zip, nor any other zip on my device. I restarted my computer and even redownloaded all together, but it keeps happening. Does anyone have any idea why?

Uh got problem, when I go to switch the window size from the default M or with the maximize button the screen goes black until I switch it back over to the smaller size. On the newest 5.0.36 version.

So I have my 5.0.36.1 (top) that I've been playing and I want to get the 5.0.36.2 patch (bottom). Do I literally just copy and paste everything except the Graphics, Data, and Audio folders into the patch folder?
