yeah. so basically, the lamorn found these "green energy crystals" and tried to use it to enhance themselves, heal illnesses, have a cheap energy source, and even raise the dead. however, they severely underestimated the actual effects of the green energy crystals and when trying to revive someone who died, they became a griever. the lamorn tried to avoid this time and time again, as seen by the cryo pods in ice belt containing countless grievers, all times failing. eventually, a few grievers escaped and flooded the mines, jungle, and desert. since these things were so geeked out on green energy crystals, they were super strong, super violent, and also completely insane. in the end, there were 13 remaining lamorn priests who hid themselves in chrono tower. they prophecied of a "chosen one" who would save them all ||(it was samus but she was like a bajillion years late)||, so all but one left to find them. none returned. eventually, some weird time-travel junk happens and ||sylux|| gets transported to chrono tower in an accident with handling a lamorn artifact that just got yeeted to another planet. the last lamorn saw ||him||, thought ||he|| was the chosen one, and threw ||him|| into a stasis pod for who knows how long. then prime 4 happens.

so basically, in prime 2 there's this one planet called aether. it's a pretty chill place where these guys called the luminoth lived (they're like the chozo but somehow a little smarter). one day, everything goes to shit on aether because a giant sentient cancer asteroid called a leviathan hurtles toward aether and brings a really bad species called the ing to aether. in response the luminoth take all the bad junk and send it to an alternate dimension's version of the planet, dark aether, which is super deadly. to combat this and also do routine check-ups on dark aether, the luminoth develop the dark and light suits and also some REALLY powerful beams. however, this alone can't stop everything from going to shit anyways, and the luminoth have no choice but to go into suspended animation until a hero arrives. samus pulls up 50 years later, meets dark samus, they scuffle, and all is good and dandy. roll credits.
