hmm. Robotech's Macross has characters who are soldiers / commanders, while holding anti-war stances (when out of combat...). And goes on to repeatedly show that Culture and "Proto-Culture" beats the millions-of-capital-ships-strong military with out it.
If that was made today, that would probably be the end of the conversation. But, what they leave as subtext is that the "cultural weapons" are tools of the military to distract the "uncultured" military so the lesser-equipped military forces can come out on top.
And that the actual anti-war activists are completely insufferable, while the main character's insistence on being against war || (while somehow being a major with hundreds of kills under his belt that is called to every tiny decision on the ship, main characater syndrome, amirite)|| does actually have consequences.

So, the very, explicit message is "song good. war bad. You stupid if think otherwise." The other (perhaps unintended) message is "Songs is are weapons of war, and to fail to integrate culture and military leaves both defenseless." Which is... Much more interesting than almost any other modern story.

Coming from a post-nukes Japan, when 1999 is the far off time when humans finally get anti-gravity space gundams, I legitimately do not know if it was unintended.
Oh, and importantly, it never gets off on making the story a muddy, "morally grey" mess. The main characters are the true, unironic Good Guys, while still saying "Well, maybe your ideals aren't perfect."

Hey, I’m starting a small Pokémon roleplay set in a custom region I created called the Akuma Region. I’m only looking for 2–3 people who might be interested.

The Akuma Region is inspired by ancient Greece. It’s a massive region filled with forests, caves, and overgrown ruins. In its lore, it was once considered the place of perfect harmony, where legendary Pokémon gathered before human interference disrupted that balance. Because of that, the land is extremely lush and rich in history. Cities are built around ancient temples, and there’s a strong theme of mythology, balance, and exploration.

This isn’t anything weird or awkward. It’s just creative storytelling in a Pokémon world. Think worldbuilding, character development, gym challenges, mystery, and lore. I’m doing this to improve my writing, creativity, and storytelling skills, and I thought it would be more fun with a small group instead of doing it alone.
