Sucks and doesn't swallow. The issue is less dodging and more like it feels the progression is scuffed and you don't get nearly as much DPS compared to other classes when they have much better versatility.

The thing is that it happens just like in vanilla and besides some special weapons (considering where you find herring) you have very little viable options for each phase of the game while other classes get a bunch of weapons of roughly the same utility.
Like you shouldn't be able to have Herring carry you through half the game easily.

Yeah an attack that doesn't have a consistent path shouldn't be that fast, because with each new world the arena is different and they bounce all over the place since it shoots at you directly initially.

Nameless Deity is the only calamity sidemod boss I've fought that wasn't difficult but it was one hell of a spectacle
I've also fought Noxus, Goozma (I still feel like this name has to be some sort of Pokemon reference) and Astrageldon
I'd actually order their difficulty in that order
Noxus is definitely on the higher end of difficulty, but not quite brutal imo, Goozma took me quite a high number of attempts and Astrageldon sent me into an infinite death loop like Giorno did to Diavolo at the end of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Vento Aureo
