going to just assume that you're the warrior here. mage is very good since the AI almost always knows what they're doing with it

chef and cleric are both healers. cleric is generally better at healing but chef can do some great burst damage even if the AI is pretty derpy about it.

pop-star is average in the AI's hands but can be great support if the AI does well

thief is... generally not great, works better in the player's hands, but there's always more opportunities to grab it in a future world

for postgame ||you can pick any class you want so it's not a super big deal||

if you're playing on switch that also makes a difference with ||two of the worst classes in the base game since tank and flower both benefit pretty well from horse support||

hope that helps a bit for your decisions

when I did a duo run I think I went with chef (MC) and pop-star for the start and it got messy at points rofl

||flower and tank are... not great in the hands of the AI. as I said both get better in the player's hands but tank can get a bit struggly. Tank is less disruptive in the AI's hands at least and you can help them out a fair bit with MP sprinkes. princess is a jack-of-all-stats that can do decent magic and support. ||

||ideally go those three just so you have all 12 maingame classes but if you do want to repeat one, mage and scientist are probably the two best since they're magic damage. Mage has stronger single target while scientist has better multi-target||

||flower would be a lot better in the AI's hands if it didn't use flower power whenever it wanted, most notably when you have a better status already going||

but yea coming up you'll be able to ||freely swap MC's jobs out anyway|| so it's not a super big deal what you choose for them
