I extracted baseHP and baseXP for every single pokemon of every single gen.
plotted them against eachother and made a trendline for the correlation.
(speaking in general terms; a R^2 of > 0.5 can be regarded as a strong correlation in multivariate situations when humans are involved. While >0.9 would indicate a linear model. Meaning that that baseHP explains 44.8% of what you see in baseXP)

A quick and dirty analysis|| (outliers were not removed at all during this, doing this would make the R^2 higher)|| already gives this trend of 0.448 - while not reaching the magical 0.5, there is undoubtedly a correlation between baseHP and baseXP.
From the plot you might also already spot a possible other variable that can explain some/all of the remaining influence, there are 3 distinct staggered "shelves" of exp gain.
I would hypothesise these to be the evolution stages factoring into the unknown prediction model of baseXP.

I think I’m giving up the Lunar Knights epilogue. I can’t make it past floor 35/100. I just beat floor 60.
It helps that I discovered a trick that makes it feel like a rogue like instead of a marathon challenge:
There are checkpoints every 10 floors with a “leave and quick return” idea. HOWEVER if you die, you can either pay to continue (losing all progress on the current attempt) or give up and return to the title screen… AND IF YOU PAY, YOU KEEP ALL THE MONEY YOU EARNED THAT ATTEMPT (minus the respawn fee)
So I just keep going, dying, making bank, then respawn and run away to stock up on healing/revival items and upgrade weapons, then go back to the part I struggled on!
