I have been playing around with smd0's showdown fusion generator (which is a lot of fun!) but it kind of seems that the vast majority of fusions are weaker than one of the mons put in. Does anyone have any favorite combos that they consider more effective that both of their "parents"? Like Shedinja/slaking is obviously better than it's parents (getting rid of truant for wonderguard with one weakness, plus higher att/speed than Shedinja).

you identified two of the main uses of fusion but there are two primary other things to improve with fusion you didn't mention. one is stats. you can give Pokemon the stats they need to succeed, whether that be adding speed, bulk, or mixed attacking options. So Pokemon with extreme stats are useful for this including ninjask, blissey, or machamp
the other is movepool. is there a move your pokemon dreams of, whether it be a boosting option or atttack, or spore or whatever? there's a Pokemon out there that can give it to you, and it doesn't even have to be smeargle 😉
though now I kinda wanna play around and figure out what something like a smeargle/kyogre combination could give you 😆

as part of my silly little celebration of snow warning delibird being added to the game I'm trying to think of the world's first delibird reliant ou team 😆 assuming fusions of ou pokemon are also ou, and avoiding wonder guard because I just don't want to try to guess what tier that would belong in freed from shedninja's relative mediocrity.
The plan so far is is snow warning gengar/delibird for weather and spin blocking,
snow cloak infernape/mamoswine for physical attacking prowess and an answer to rock and steel types.
ice body latios/kyurem for some serious special offense, and revenge killing with a choice scarf
blissey/cloyster walling stealth rocking and spinning,
Sylveon/forretress to wall and spike while throwing out pixilate rapid spins,
and levitate lucario/weezing to check fighting types and faeries while delivering stab fighting and poison attacks off a respectable 109 special attack, potentially with priority
though something like weezing heracross might be better, and there's probably a better partner for kyurem I'm not thinking about

There is a pretty cheesy strat you can run with it though,the Mankey paw item can be given to it to guarantee crits,and since shock wave bypasses the accuracy check (as well as aerial ace since heracross can learn that) you can run a crit built hybrid attacker

so the obvious idea i was missing last night for some bizarre reason in my quest for a fighting type that can handle rain teams is fighting/electric. i think a magnet pull Lucario/magnezone is exactly what this team needs in that slot, not to mention what steel trapping can potentially mean against an infinite fusion team with how much teams tend to rely on it defensively. also, it has volt switch and priority when needed which lets it survive a lot of situations it otherwise couldn't combined with hail damage and all the hazards we're spamming.

we could still use a better spin blocker, while delibird technically does the job it can't exactly stay in safely and deal with the spinner. blissey/cloyster is getting sidelined for the even harder wall of natural cure blissey/dusclops. it reduces our spinning options, but those defenses with eviolite offer a lot of potential
the little smiley face eye really increases just how painfully awful that'd be to come up against 😅 i have to applaud @shrewd berry for that!
I'll have to remember to include some dark type coverage and possibly toxic to help deal with all the normal/ghosts I'll see running around, those are going to be scary 😅 at least i have all the wonderguard permutations covered between entry hazards and hail

i downloaded all of the sprite packs, anyone know which ones arent already used?
also tons of doubles and extra folders, super overwhelmed. im just supposed to pick what i like i assume?
also noticed a fair amount missing, like 1.45-1.49. a bunch of others like that but i dont want to annoy everyone

All of the sprites that are in Custombattlers are the ones that are being used in-game, the stuff in doubles is just for alts and stuff for pre-existing sprites

it doesnt take the average, it takes 2/3+1/3 (depending on Body and stat)
this means if you for example have a Mon with a lot of Speed, Atk and Def, but low SpAtk, SpDef and HP, and fuse it with a mon with the opposite, the result has a higher total than the single ones
