you just take the weakness and resist from both types and combine them. If the weakness/resist is there twice it multiplies (4x instead of 2x) and if one type has a weakness that the other one resists it cancels out (ex. a fire/water type would be weak to water on the fire side but resist water on the water side, so water is neutral)
