I tried running this, and it's not actually very good. It gets a free shell smash, but that isn't enough for it to get by. Cloyster really wants to be able to use skill link icicle spear, which conflicts with disguise. And loaded dice isn't in this game (Oops, mixed up Cloyster and Omastar here. Similar pokemon as far as this analysis though)

One rule I have for fusions is that I want it to feel like a substantial upgrade in both directions

Restricted Legendary + normal mon usually doesn't result in that, unless the normal mon has an amazing movepool

I'm considering using Kyogre + Ampharos because of Tail Glow and STAB Thunder

Looking at the fusion calc, it's not THAT bad. It suffers from the same problem as most ground/fairy fusions though: Mimikyu gives better stats as the head, but gives fairy typing with the body

I think kyogre groudon fusions might be the only ones worth using if you are wanting a water ground one

unless you just want a groundon that is aesthetically pleasing

Can't make Feraligatr/Aurorus for classic mode, as I've just found out, not if I still wanna snag a Tyrantrum.

Need a solid fusion for Feraligatr that makes something very clearly prehistoric, like you'd know from a glance it's trying to reference one. The best looking alternative I've found is Feraligatr/Lanturn, however stat wise it's simply not sustainable. Feraligatr/Tyranitar has a Spinosaurus alt sprite, but I'm already gonna be working with Tyranitar/Torterra, and over half my team would be Dark if I did. Any other suggestions to make a prehistoric Feraligatr fusion?

Postosuchus immediately comes to mind, or maybe a solidly built therapod like Herrerasaurus, or somewhat larger therapods with headgear like Ceratosaurus and Majungasaurus.
