It just swaps Offensive and Defensive stats whenever you use a move.

As such Aegislash fusions work best on defensive mons, because it uses their defense stats in the offensive calculations.

I made a list before. Basically, it depends on what you want. Some non-Legend examples I have below:

• For offensive Stance Change it's Aegislash/Sylveon and Aegislash/Gardevoir. Former has more attack power, latter has better speed and more coverage.
• For offensive Trace it's probably Empoleon/Gardevoir but I need to check some more mons.
• For a Fairy that beats Steel-types you can do Magnezone/Gardevoir w/ Mystical Fire. More niche but quite strong.
• For a Defensive behemoth, the aformentioned Clefable/Steelix is probably your best bet.
• For Prankster annoyance, Ferrothorn/Whimsicot is very annoying. Like Klefki but 200x worse.
• For Serene Grace mixed attacking, Togekiss/Lucario is great with a vast movepool of Serene Grace options.
