since heads and bodies give their stats differently, it makes sence to fuse attacking water heads with bulky ground bodies, and vice versa

and Sandslash is better as a head since it has less bulk and good attack

The statistical difference between the two is not that big so they're both useable, and I mean, it does get magic guard which is a neat ability

A better way to look at it is that Nidoqueen/Clefable gets both Sludge Bomb/Wave and Moonblast STAB and the -3 base SpAtk is easily overcome by equipping the recoil-less Life Orb you can get from Saffron

Not to mention magic guard makes you immune to statuses as well if you poison/burn yourself beforehand

Poison/Fairy is also the better typing, which Nido body would lose when it becomes Nidoqueen
