What counts as a lore break?
PIF shares most lore with the original games, but there are also differences. Here are some examples of lore-related reasons an entry might be unsuited for the game.

• Direct references to non-Pokémon media
• Specific explanations of how a natural fusion occurs
• References to locations or holidays that are not canon to the Pokémon universe
• Descriptions of fusions as an altered version of one of the base Pokémon, instead of a fusion of the two
• Descriptions of fusions as two separate base Pokémon, without any actual fusion
• Fantastical claims (incredible powers for a non-legendary, origin myths, etc.) presented as fact

Lore breaks are not limited to the examples above. Check the FAQs in the Dex Entry Sheet for more info on what might disqualify an entry.

The following examples fit within the PIF lore, and similar entries will not be removed or edited.

• Historical stories presented as rumors or myths, rather than as facts
• References to the original Pokémon games, or related media that fits with their canon, such as the anime or spin-off games
• Descriptions of powers, moves, etc., that the fusion does not have access to ingame
• Descriptions of fusions as something other than a simple combination of DNA (e.g., one half parasitizing or possessing the other)

What counts as a style break?
Dex entries should feel similar to the original games' Pokédex entries. Here are some examples of style-related reasons an entry might be unsuited for the game.

• Excessively gory content
• Descriptions of a specific individual that is not representative of the entire species
• Entries that rely upon the reader having seen a separate dex entry
• Excessively technical/scientific language

The following examples fit within the PIF style, and similar entries will not be removed or edited.

• Reasonably non-graphic descriptions of violence
• Entries that are only slightly different from the standard dex entry style

Explanation of error: This entry refers to the fusion as coming from only one of the two fused Pokémon instead of both halves. This breaks FAQ Rule 19, which states that both halves should be part of the fusion. The entry states a way for natural fusion to occur and treats it as fact rather than rumor. This breaks FAQ Rule 14, which states that the means of natural fusion must be kept vague. This entry could also use a little more, as it is currently only 96 characters, which is below the 100-character minimum.

The following is an example of what NOT to submit as an error report:

Explanation of error: Since it's a fusion, it shouldn't be described as being controlled by the parasite.

In the above case, an Unown might respond as follows:
This dex entry isn't a lore break. Since POKENAME is still described as a fusion, one half parasitizing the other is fine, as per FAQ 15.

It's because Frog didn't want to make it into a forum. It's anticipated to not have nearly as much heavy traffic compared to #1142871804269052004 and #1052360360172199977, so he wanted to start it off this way for the time being. Our unowns work really hard to give everything approved before being implemented, so reports shouldn't happen too often, more for the few that fall through the cracks.

I actually started working on creating the forum, so I had to delete it if it turns out a forum is needed, than I can convince him to allow me to set it up

I think this is a circumstantial error due to the fact there is not one uniform measurement system within the game. I will raise this to the other Unown and read through more of the entry to see if the author needs to be contacted for a change.

I just go to Daena's list, find a Pokemon that starts with a vowel, go to the place on the sheet with that Pokemon as the head, and look for POKENAME in the entries to check if it says "a" before it. And every so-often, I have noticed one that correctly says "an"

I suspect the text file is using the wrong character encoding. I had this come up recently when I was modding another game, one of my files containing special characters was encoded in ANSI instead of UTF8 so it didn't display it properly. This can happen if the file is created in notepad

The reason I suggested removing the quotes is because to me, the entire phrase is referring to how the ancient civilization described the fusion. "Ancient peoples referred to POKENAME as the rage of the sun in weapon form." or "Ancient peoples referred to POKENAME as "the rage of the sun in weapon form"." But given how our title formatting works, we would have to capitalize the words within the quotes. And to me it doesn't read the same as "Fishermen call ir "The (Something" of the Seas." Because those are active titles, not reputation, theories, or full descriptions. Describing the perception of ancient times is more of a description than an active title.
