But less rigged
#JusticeForWaluigi
he was never getting into smash; he was only ever a secondary game character, never a main
was made specifically for wario to have a tennis partner
and most of the personality people give him tends to just be from Brawl in the Family's version anyway
cough Daisy cough
I have no idea what that is lol
Imagine double Golisopod fusion.
Turns into a gundam
so fucking surprised the regis got in and not the gen 7 legendaries
necrozma and marshadow are legally required to get in
TBF Daisy wasn’t made specifically to be player 2. I love Waluigi
True, but the first time she was playable was the same game for similar reasons
Shields Down is also a form changing ability which flips defense to offense and doubles your speed
If its implemented the same as Aegislash where its simply raw stats
I just realized how op shields down is
Doubling 100 speed and 140 attack sounds fun
Didn't even know that part, but that arguably makes Minior an even better choice.
Buuuut I think it's too late, I'm mainly posting this out of obligation now.
Go from a super bulky pokemon to a hyper-offensive pokemon in a single turn
Just imagine giving it Belly Drum
Does sitrus berry get used in this game or does it stay?
I believe it gets used but restocks as long as you have more

I would love Minior to be in IF but it's the same reason I didn't want Oricorio in, I don't wanna make multiple sprites at once
As far as I know, in-battle form changes still don't work, but I could be wrong.
(specifically sprite changes)
I thought it just made it unable to be affected by most status moves
yea it's similar to aegislash's stance change so there is precident for it in IF
Aaahh I see, the forms have different stats. Could be interesting then lol
Part of me wants to have it change sprites just so we could see some "unleashed" ones lol
I'd rather pair it with Scizor or another bug type personally. Because being a rock type is pain, and the Steel/Fire overall has much worse stats and dies to Earthquake.
Rock/Bug is odd because while it has only a few weaknesses, it only has a few resistances too.
Pair it with a tank that happens to learn Belly Drum
Unfortunately, there isn't a Pokemon that fits everything you want
Believe it or not, but Komo-o looks like the most optimal partner statwise
Poliwrath is the next best thing
Wow, this one's tricky, there really isn't a cut and dry best option in the game with all the minimum stats you want
Like, you want at least 60 speed and 80 defensive stats
What would be better actually, using belly drum to get shields down, or spend a few turns spamming def+ moves till you get to half normally?
bruxish reveal when 🗣️ 🗣️ ⁉️ 🗣️ ⁉️
That's also an interesting point. It does get Cosmic Power
Other pokemon fans: Yes! Our favorite mon gets into the game!

Regitrio fans:
are there any shovel knight fusions or no?
Regis when a hater shows up
oh sorry
Sall good
Conversely, it would be interesting if the regis were bizarrely patient and kind to haters
Here we see the Regis rushing to peacefully avoid conflict with an individual upset at their inclusion
meanwhile I'm like "sweet, 2/3 of those will be cool for the incorrect fusions run I'm planning on"
They aren't too interesting mechanically. I wish this game had gen 4 Explosions
Guzzlin nuggies like none other
I made this using a ai program it looks so great that i want to see if i can make it into a fusion im not sure witch pokemon combination can make this
this just screams yveltal lycanroc
This is not the place for AI art
But yea I can see yveltal lycanroc
They are both not in the game yet T_T
It also has some pretty bad coverage on top of that.
Also the infamous problem of "Rock has no good physical moves".
Yeah lycanrock is a special attacker
No one likes sore winners
He use rock tomb and bite
kid named kleavor
What do you guys think the best fusions would be for Golisopod in terms of fighting capabilities?
Nidoking
for whatever reason, i’m imagining it would pair well with the kabuto line
groudon
There isn't a single phys rock move above 75BP that has above 89% accuracy. And then there's the fact there isn't a single above one 50BP that has 100% accuracy.
For all the people that answered, it is optional to explain why you think it would pair well with a certain mon
I have the Phys Rock chart.
Nidoking His body build is simular and h can poision anyone who directly attack him
giant bug monster that can stomp anything
Ignore Diamond Storm
Signature moves don't count.
I guess Rock Wrecker exists. But refer to "good physical moves".
OK what are you guys think the best Lycanroc fusions would be in terms of combat capabilities? (Optional to explain why you think the two months would pair well together in a fusion)
90% accuracy
Diamond Storm is in the game from the Expert Move tutor. So is Accelerock for that matter
Long range
Diamond Storm also has 90/95% accuracy
I guess charrizard
There isn't a single phys rock move above 75BP that has above 89% accuracy. And then there's the fact there isn't a single above one 50BP that has 100% accuracy.
Also the infamous problem of "Rock has no good physical moves".
Ignore Diamond Storm
Signature moves don't count.
Game freak really needs to add some more rock type moves
I guess you're ready to fight for Rock Wrecker being a good phys rock move.
Does anyone know if they are ever going to add any non-signature moves in the future in bulk?
I mean every gen adds a bunch of non sig moves?
The user launches a huge boulder at the target to attack.
The user can't move on the next turn.
They do? Haven’t noticed.
Yes
OK what were the non-signatures added in GEN eight?
For rock? None that I can find.
No, just in general for moves
Yep maybe something with a floating diamond that can become a beam with all types of light like sun
Body Press is currently the first I can find.
Meteor Beam
Flip Turn
Headlong Rush
Scale shot
Jaw Lock
Breaking Swipe
What Pokémon had all these moves? I never noticed these Pokémon
Expanding Force
Skitter Smack
Life Dew
Also how the heck didn't you see some of these? A bunch became competitive staples
Misty Explosion
Terrain Pulse
Headlong Rush is even on Great Tusk.
Poltergeist
I've even seen it used over Earthquake a few times
Oh yeah and Triple Axel
Body Press is solely responsible for making a bunch of high def mons scary
Rising Voltage, Scorching Sands
How did I never noticed all these moves?
Steel Beam
No idea, they had pretty wide distribution
Scorching Sands is just Ground type Scald but weaker
^
And most of them were TRs
I mean, I think it’s been like one to two years since I’ve played it, so maybe I just forgot?
Triple Axel
But yeah every Pokemon game adds a bunch of new generic moves
Wave Crash
Spirit Break
We've had 9 generations for a good phys rock move. At this point I almost want to say Gamefreak hates rock.
I mean GF clearly thinks its part of the balance for rock to be the best attacking type and have exclusively risky attacks
Same insane reason they almost exclusively make slow and defensive ice types
It's not the best. Ground and Fighting have similar coverage.
Fighting actually and Ground actually has the most coverage.
Rock is statistically the best and the only type that has more things weak to it than things that resist or are immune
In practice because Pokemon distribution isn't even it isn't actually the best
Fighting hits five different types, so does Ground.
They both even have really strong moves, in Earthquake and Close Combat.
Yeah and both have a type thats immune
Rock is basically Ice but worse.
And now Headlong Rush too
Rock has nothing immune to it
Ice also hits four types, simlar to Rock, but actually has a good movepool.
Fighting has Scrappy.
And like I said GF gives different types different identities
Anyways, cheating aside, like I said, Rock is basically worse Ice.
And the identity for Rock is clearly 'inaccurate' which is pretty shit
Much like how electric types have terrible physical moves
They have a similar identity in "everything hates me, I hit a lot of things", but Rock has terrible accuracy. That and Rock has a problem in the modern generation where ground, fighting, and steel are everywhere.
I mean yeah but thats been an issue since Gen 2
GF don't care. And Ice in general is significantly worse off
Ice actually got a few good offensive 'mon in recent times
The last non-signature 100% rock type move introduced into the game was Smack Down 💀
That and the boost to the Ice movepool increased the viability of a few other older Ice 'mon like Weavile.
That and the fact Weavile gets Knock-Off but that's neither here nor there.
Doesn't really matter when 90% of ice types are crippled by being slow walls
Well, yes, that's true. But that's better than what Rock has.
Weavile lost Knock Off in Gen 9 actually
At least most rock types are weirdly fast
Not anymore. It's a TM again.
We’re so Weavback
And it finally got a good physical ice stab
That also clear hazards. Gen 9 was good eating for Weavile
Ice spinner is the terrain, not hazards
And Triple Axel was better for it anyway, which it doesn’t get anymore
The only rock types at 110 speed or above are Ogerpone Cornerstone(which is probably the worst form in my opinion), Lycanrock/Dusk, Diancie-Mega, Aerodactyl/Mega, Archeops, Arceus(this is cheating though), and Minior(who has relatively low offensive stats and is very squishy),
Well the one thing rock has for it is that it gets a 50% sp.def boost in sandstorm
Out of these, only Arceus, Aerodactyl, and Minior hit the 120 speed tier.
Tbf I didn't mean in general. I meant most of them were weirdly fast for their defensive stats
Compared to ice types who are usually incredibly slow
At least they got a buff in Snow this Gen so they get a 50% def boost while in it. A9T with Snow Warning and Aurora Veil is a nasty combo
They get murked by a Greninja, probably nuked by Tapu Koko, Iron Valiant with Speed+ Quark,-
Arceus Ice, Chien-Pao, Iron Bundle, Weavile for above 120 speed tier.
Frosslass for 110 speed tier, but eh, low offensive stats sadly(tfw they're also my favorite ice type).
Baxcalibur is pretty slow at 87 speed but managed to get itself banned out of singles OU if that means anything
That’s because it got both Alolan Ninetales with Aurora Veil support making it’s Ice type a strong defensive type allowing it to just set up in your face while taking little damage.
I'm pretty sure Scale Shot + Dragon Dance was what pushed it over the edge. Scale Shot was also why Koraidon got banned out of NDU.
I am rereading the ban and comments about it and you’re right mb
Is that literally only one spot left
Last slot is buzzswole
Source: i made it up
You heard it here, folks. Buzzwole is slot 20
I'd be happy with buzzwole maybe I'll get to buzz
What do you mean, slot 20 is still open. Buzzswole was already in the game.
Can't believe people still don't know Buzzwole's in the game especially since he's a main part of the side quest to get Missingno smh my head 😔
Guys I cannot WAIT for Bruxish to be added ong
Important question cause I'm in an argument with someone
Oricorio despite having four dex entries is just one slot correct
It's zero, it didn't count towards the 20
Oh yeah
If asked for proof refer here #pif-hoenn-discussion message
Is Rock a bad type or does it just have terrible Pokemon that have stats that run counter to how the type is coded? Like Ice which has that problem while also just being a bad type.
Because I'm not sure how you can fix rock without fixing the attacks and the Pokemon unlike Ice which can be helped by giving it resistances.
5 weaknesses
So both?
Yes
Rock is a lot like Ice in that it’s a very good offensive type, but a shit defensive type. Unlike Ice though, most Rock types have a defensive-oriented stat spread, which is… usually counterproductive.
So do some ice types but the difference is there’s just so many better ice types than there is rock types
Rock type has the worst pokemon out of any typing in the game
That’s something I know many people would hard argue with, but I digress
I’m talking about gameplay not design or whatever
I figured, but I have no horse in that race either way
Bug type is the only one I’d say you can debate is worse than rock
Also that rock types have terrible moves as well
The bug typing itself is fine, it’s just mostly mons with bad stat totals because it was meant to be a joke type until Gen 5
Bug type is the worst type in the game
Aight then lol
Bug type is a pretty absurdly good defensive typing and a good chunk of the best Pokemon in the game have been Bug type since Gen IV
I love the electric tarantula so much
I like how bug is one of the worst types competitively but it’s arguably the type with the hardest designs
i literally do not think its one of the worst types competititively. Like it has a pretty insane defensive profile with resistances to ground and fighting and couples with Steel for one of the more broken dual typings in the game. Bug/Steel is on a bunch of Pokemon and several of them have been competitive mainstays for years
It is the worst type in the game competitively
and that isn't even getting into like Volcarona, Ribombee or Scolipede who have all been meta warping at various points
there are more bug types in high level competition teams than there are of several other typings
Volcarona, Ribombee and scolipede are good but there’s a lot of pokemon who are bigger menaces than them
Volcarona has been a top tier OU threat since its inception in singles and literally got banned to ubers this gen
Wobbufet has been in Ubers twice and is a menace
ok, I'm not saying Wobbuffet is bad? I'm saying that calling Bug types the worst competitive type is absurd when there are a lot of bug types that have centralized the metagame over the years
like Scizor in Gen IV/V being on literally 70% of all teams
Bug type is the worst typing in the game, doesn’t mean bug pokemon can’t be good
its absolutely not the worst typing in the game. Worst typing is ice because its literally only negative to have ice typing
while bug typing provides many benefits including fighting and ground resistance
Ice provides more value then bug types
like....
Like there are several pokemon who have a dominant Tera type into bug. No one tera types to ice
Ground, dragon, flying and grass
Regieleki
that's not a value to ice typing, that's a value to ice moves
I was under the impression Regileki mostly did Tera-Dark
Huh?
I haven't seen anyone go Tera-Ice with them
Ice typing as a lot of bad match ups
Regieleki is in Ubers because of Tera-ice
Me when 7 typings resist bug
Bug hitting Dark is still incredibly worthwhile considering how abundant dark types are
Ice hitting ground and dragon types is incredibly valuable considering how abundant both these typings are
ok, I am not disputing that. It still is a shitty type for a Pokemon to have while Bug is a good defensive typing for a lot of mons
Bug types are bad because it is the worst offensive type in the game and is alright defensively
its good defensively and its not the worst offensive type in the game, that's Normal
especially with the loss of Return
Second worse out of 18 is not good
I think Steel is also worse than Bug
Bro what 💀
Bug is worse than ice
offensively, to be clear
Steel is one of the best types tf
Steel is better offensively, literally
It hits 3 more types neutrally and hits fairy super effectively
It's not gen6 anymore, fairy doesn't need to resist bug game freak!!!
That was an insult to injury fr
looking at total resists/immunities/etc in a vaccuum doesn't show the full picture. Steel is bad offensively because it so heavily overlaps with fighting offensively
also Water is just absolutely busted
It’s mediocre offence is more than made up for with its 10 resistances
I was only talking about offense!
Feel like steel should be weak to electric
It’s still better than bug offensively
Bug has more synergistic coverage with the normal coverage moves
It should just have less resistances not more weaknesses
The resistances make sense at least
not really
Errr yeah, it's steel
which is somehow weak to... ground and fighting
Steel is meant to be durable
i mean they at least removed its resist to ghost and dark so its not super busted, its not a powerhouse offensively so the resists are fine
because punching steel is definitely a thing that makes sense
It's pokemon, everyone is superhuman
ok then why isn't normal super-effective
Cause normal is normal
Because normal is normal
Fighting is offensive use
I think it should resist one or two less typings
typings are completely arbitrary and you could realistically re-arrange the type chart in any way and it would make about as much sense as it does now
Ah yes, grass can beat fire
Fire is super effective against electric
like Electricity in real life should work almost exactly the opposite as how it does in Pokemon
Ground should be weak, Flying immune, Grass weak
Electric and water should be super effective against eachother but that's just buffing water
the way its set up right now makes like negative sense if you know how electricity works. Water should resist it
How would ground be weak to electricity
Water is a terrible conductor
why wouldn't ground be weak to electricity? One of the most famous parts of electricity is that it is able to literally blow holes in the ground and create glass from sand
That’s heat
...
... from the lightning
Blows holes in the ground???
also you need to be grounded to complete a circuit
Pretty sure the whole thing with lighting is the heat and the actual shock
i mean yeah it can do things to the ground but electricity generally dissipates into the ground
and lets not pretend heat is somehow exclusive to a single element considering we have no fewer than 5 based around it
or are we also collapsing the type chart
When electricity dissapates into the ground it usually does some serious burn damage
not in most cases
like that's the whole reason its dangerous
If I throw ground at the electric cloud it dissapears
i mean yeah, if you get a giant lightning bolt to hit, but otherwise it just quietly dissipates
well that would be true if an 'electric cloud' could exist
i mean Electricity in Pokemon is exclusively shooting giant lightning bolts
just keep in mind pokemon is a not a game with especially great logic
right that's my point
most of the type chart is arbitrary, we've just interalized it
That’s why ice should be super effective against fire
however, most the type combos do have some valid reasoning behind them, it just doesn't always line up well
not really
like why are Rock and Ground separate? Why can rocks hit flying but not ground?
because the ground doesn't fly, the rocks do
why the heck is Dragon only super-effective against dragon
why is ghost good against ghost
why can you poison a ghost or a rock but something made of metal is a step too far
Lockstin and gnoggin explains this pretty well
why does normal exist
like when's the last time you threw like dirt and had it actually do much damage
why the hell is fighting good against steel or ice?
why can you bite a ghost but not punch it
scrappy
If you punch hard enough it breaks
ok then why does anything resist fighting
Because biting is evil and ghosts are weak to evil duh
because you can't fight a ghost normally
I can squish bugs a lot easier than punch ice apart but Machamp sure as heck can't
Can you punch something in the air?
.... yes
So you want me to fly up to them and punch them in the face?
if they resist it you have to have hit them
Yeah I can't even meme about that, bug should be weak to fighting
otherwise they'd be immune
Because Dragons are super powerfull and often can only be killed by another dragon
Honestly it should, no idea why bug resists it
or ... cold? Or fairies?
Because ghosts can touch each other
well usually they aren't flying that high in the games (or at all), so they'd be harder to hit but not impossible
point is a lot of those are completely arbitrary
Can you punch a bird mid-air? Like you as a person
i think more of them make sense than don't
I mean if I'm fighting it and it comes to attack me? yes
Actually many type machups make a lot of sense
you're just cherry picking the more questionable ones
I mean I listed like a dozen
or a fairy
and its not like it was exhaustive
Steel type should be super effective against flying types because I can shoot a shotgun at one
game freak don't like guns
I mean that makes as much sense as the current explanations
Yeah cuz often for a hero to win against a dragon you need magic from for example a fairy
Ice should be weak to electric since lightning bolts produce heat
why does being evil make you immune to psychic powers
fighting is based on martial arts, martial arts that target weakpoints, due to the difference in anatomy, those technics aren't really effective against bugs
Ghost should be super effective because normal is scared of Ghosts
yeah but they can rarely actually hurt them
actually why is steel resistant to psychic powers considering we based Gen 1 Pokemon on Uri Geller, famous for bending steel with his mind
fear of darkness
Water should be weak to bugs because bugs drink water
everything drinks water
Yeah true, so water should be weak to steel because steel drinks water
not everything, metal doesn't for exemple
i mean animals obviously...
a pretty large minority of Pokemon aren't based on animals
not all
the vast majority
"Kangaroo rats, according to scientists, are the only animals that can exist without water. According to the findings, they do not have any water in their bodies for any of their digestive functions. Kangaroo rats can survive in deserts without ever drinking."
Psychic type should be strong against grass type because you can mindbend the grass types
i'm talkin about real animals here, because we're trying to relate this stuff to realism
“are the only animals”
Pokemon is a world where you can shrink god into a ball you put in your pocket before sending it to be digitized into your PC
there's like one animal and a few microbes that maybe don't need it, no need to correct over that
realism went out the door a long, long time ago
Kangaroo rats, small mostly nocturnal rodents of genus Dipodomys, are native to arid areas of western North America. The common name derives from their bipedal form. They hop in a manner similar to the much larger kangaroo, but developed this mode of locomotion independently, like several other clades of rodents (e.g. dipodids and hopping mice).
Poke balls should be weak to my fist because I can break them

are you done proving your point
Did you know rats are real animals?
you said "real animal" so i proved it was real
and i was referring to this, not you
My bad og
obviously if your sword begins drinkin your bottled water it's probably an issue
Yeah I was just saying we have a lot of non-animal Pokemon?
That’s unbelievable
I did say a large minority - meaning like a significant portion though far fewer than the majority
anyway
Thanks for letting me know what large minority means 🙏
yes we do have some abritrary matchups but the most seem reasonable enough for a game about magical animals fighting each other
most of the dragons, poké-objects, celestial things, plants (plant != animal), etc ... so yeah, it could have been a lot if water type fish weren't this present in the game
Sword ghost versus ice monkey!
The discussion about the type matchups gives me déjà vu like we’ve had this conversation before
probably have
Yeah, I remember and I was there
Not talking, but lurking
Cosmic dragon versus muddy fish
I just think we think the type chart makes sense because we've marinated in it for so long. Like ask someone who knows nothing about Pokemon and I doubt they get even half the interactions right
That’s not what deja vu means
As in the expression, not the literal meaning
Ah I haven’t looked it up in a while sorry for being dumb lol
I've been playing Pokemon since Gen 1 and I'm still wrong a lot
No problem
Marinating in pickes?
I always get caught up on some of the stuff that changed between gens. Like Steel resisting Dark and Ghost
still instinctively think that
For instance: why the fuck is poison weak to psychic and ground of all types?
I am assured it definitely makes sense
I can extract the poison out of my brain fr!
Lord knows my brain is weak to poison, I got some plants and some liquid that can attest to that
Mind of steel
Some stuff comes from some sayings etc
right but aren't most of the sayings about how mind beats steel?
not like how your puny mind can't beat metal
You mean brawn vs brains?
Mind over matter, so psychic is strong against anything made of atoms
You can burry poisonous stuff to neutralize it
And psychic is cuz we can cure poisonings when we learn how
Squashing isn't a fighting move if anything bug would be weak to normal
It is strong against reality itself, my brain can literally warp it by just thinking/j
I mean, I can bury almost anything and neutralize it
True
True but bugs for example can dig out
Pour gasoline on top and light it on fire
The problem is a type represents a lot of things at the same time
If I bury some plants, it will die
Bug irl just have low bst
We need a gasoline pokemon that's poison/fire
still not sure why living plants are somehow more vulnerable to fire than anything else except bugs and uh ice
They’re nerfed irl fr, they should stay that way
considering its significantly harder to light most living plants on fire than animals
Tbh how is grass not weak to steel
Cuz we use plants to keep us warm for example campfire
Me when I use my lighter and burn it in 0.2 seconds
those are dead plants
Common videogame logic
Y should it
lighting living ones on fire is uh, really not the same
If plants weren’t weak to fire how are there forest fires
i mean plants are exactly as weak to fire as most animals
A single animal can’t raze an entire forest
which is to say ; very. Also its usually easier to light animals on fire
Its easyer to make wood burn a long time than a bear
You can do that with rocks and ice as well
They probably didn't want to give it ANOTHER weakness. Fire, Flying, Bug and Ice. Considering it doesn't have the offensive coverage of Ice types, giving it a 5th weakness is a death sentence
you can absolutely light a bear on fire easier than you can a live tree
What do you guys think about the fact that some Pokémon are human souls?
Nuh uh
because a bear is covered in easily flamable fur and trees aren't
I'd say grass should swap flying weakness for steel
W
Good point but that sounds more as cut should be steel type and super effectiv against grass
Yeah, Yamask is explicitly dead people
Ever saw what a tornado does to a forest
most flying moves are like pecks
That means humans can evolve into cofagrigus
It already has 5 weaknesses
Poison should also be at least 2 types
Y
Grass type is teetering on the edge of B tier
since they shove 'highly corrosive acid' and 'toxins' together
I forgot poison. 6 weaknesses then
Misread sorry
Unsure if we should split it
Both has something to do with poison
it really doesn't make sense for Steel to be immune to parts of that
or for ghost or rock to be vulnerable to the other half
like why can you poison a ghost
are you injecting like dead poison into their uh ghost veins
But what about a radioactive type then?/hj
also if you can't poison steel still not sure why you can poison rock or ground
Which is ironic becuz Acid can do some real damage to metals, and it's a poison type attack
Both actually make sense
Ground can be poisond same as rocks
With radiation
But neutral reactions are weird cuz what else should you do than make it neutral
Immune, Not super effectiv and super effectiv have reasons for why the rest is more like it wont make sense otherwise
based on chinese 5 elements chart, ground should beat water
ghost resists poison i think
flying should beat water because birds eat fish
i feel like ghost types aren't really ghosts, as stupid as that sound
since they can reproduce with non ghosts i feel like they are still alive, they just have ghost-like properties
so they resists poison but aren't immune because they are just a little dead, not fully (?
Can you fly underwater?
Is there wind underwater?
there are
Lol pokemon typings don't make complete sense.
And some decisions were only made for game balance reasons
Still cant believe ice isnt good against water
As if freezing pokemon whose bodies are like 99% water wouldnt be effective
Freeze Dry:
Put a cube of ice in water and wait some minutes
drop a drop of water on an ice berg
its all about size and difference
No, types are meant to be broad enough to fit multiple things together. 🙂
Same amount of water one ice one liquid wich dissapears?
Otherwise Gen I would have stuck with the Bird type, and we'd have likely got a Wind type later on. 😅
Have we got the starter mons from Hoenn Sinnoh Unova Kalos Alola Galar and Paldea added/planned?
Not Galar and Paldea but the rest will be added in the future
Hoenn and sinnoh is already in
And Galar Paldea will never be
Sometimes i wonder in this chat does anyone play the Game
I do
Good
I just wonder cuz how often I see people want Mons that are in
Hey guys it would be cool if we added charizard !!1!!
Honestly I'd kinda like if Ground and Rock were just the "Earth" type, but sadly their conflicting interractions with some typings like Flying make that harder
I mean some mons are harder to come across than others
So when ppl never find a mon, they assume it's not in the game
put the average water pokemon in the middle of a blizzard, what should realistically happen?
Vapopsicleon
Put the average ice type Pokémon in the middle of a flood
Better example would be rain because weather I’m using actual weather effects in the game. I think the ice type would fare better in rain than the water type in the blizzard
If types were ever retconned, this would be the one that i think would make the most sense. 🙂
You could probably also mesh Psychic and Fairy into a Magic type and put Ice into Water. 😄
are we inadvertently saying Too Many Types is legit
maybe not all of the types in there...but a nice chunk of them
No, the exact opposite. 😛
I know, i was just playing a little Devils advocate
ÜN ÜN ÜN
BZZZTTTZZBZZZTT
plurplecliffe my beloved
Your the first that said something nice about him I ever saw on this server
snuck pachrisu in there like we wouldn’t notice
Some people just want an art project and don't even touch the game
W
Ice should resist electricity and water.
I agree with the second one
I insist on the former since ice does not conduct electricity because it has no free charges ions.
Really just making ice resist SOMETHING would make it way better
This was stemming from a discussion of how to buff ice so it isn't the worst defensive type in the game
Lol true
Literally the worst defensive type
Might I introduce you to, rock?
What does rock even resist? Normal and bug and flying?
Ice only resists itself.
No rock atleast has resists like normal
Ice ONLY resists ice…
Personally I think ice should resist
Water
Grass
Flying
At minimum
I was so excited for hisuin avalugg until I learned it was ice rock
And had paper thin defenses
It has a better stat block to :(
Ice is the best offensive type, this would make it BUSTED
Hm, it would be nice to add another type that resists electric due to it being a fairly common attacking type.
And barely anything resists water.
Not really, it's typically incredibly frail with mediocre stats (except attack), usually I'll just run something with ice beam.
Or something else super effective to electric.
Weavile was a staple for a while with ice shard triple axel
Lapras
Sure, it was. It also has a quad weakness and typically won't survive a hit!
That's a credit to the pokemon and not the type. Weavile is very fast and Lapras is part water.
that goes for any glass cannon striker, they still exist tho
Avalugg isnt that bad now with teratype because it can start get resist these mediocre special moves like hp fire
So adding more resists to ice would be broken
Ah yes, in order for ice types to be good they need to not be ice types.
Yes, however a lot of ice type Pokémon are frail glass cannons with... Frankly underwhelming stats imo.
Exactly. Body press is what makes avalugg usable not any stab ice moves
Sturdy is what makes avalugg usable
i think glastrier trick room was a thing in gen8 for a while
So was Regigigas.
In doubles avalugg isnt usable due to always having a special sweeper on the field
But in singles its usable because it is the biggest defensive wall in the game
Like... What. That's proving my point. Ice typing is such a detriment that one needs a generation gimmick in order to remove the typing from ice pokemon to make them viable.
Ice needs buffed, it need weaknesses removed I think then it meeds more resistances
That's just saying ice types would be good if they weren't ice types.
It should have either fire, rock, or Steel removed as a weakness.
Its similar with some rock types
The issue with rock types is that they often have a secondary ground type.
Getting rid of its steel and rock would be good
Or some other type that gives it a crippling quad weakness
Why is ice weak to rock anyway? If ice gets in the cracks of a rock, it breaks it apart.
Because monkey brain, rock break ice
Rock also break skin
Rock resists normal
Rock can solve lots of issue if you hit it against something enough
But normal is not weak to rock
Because that would make it far worse.
And a fairy can kill a dragon
Normal is a balanced type. It has one weakness, one immunity, and hits nothing super effectively.
The whole talk about buffing ice by giving it resistances because despite it being a great offensive type, it has absolutely no resistances so it becomes a type people have to work around instead of work with. Coupled with how Gamefreak keeps making slow tanks for a type that again, has no resistances and 4 weaknesses, which is contradictory thinking.
And they nerfed hail
Aurora Veil is your best option as an ice type, but it pretty much guarantees you a bad entry matchup
The only reason why alolan ninetails is good
This was also a part of a greater discussion of how to buff weak types.
Wait so are absol sableye and alteria in the game?
They'll be getting added in the next big update. 🙂
Absol yes the rest next update
Why is move accuracy a thing outside of 1-hit KO moves when evasion boosting moves exist? Aren't highly damaging moves already balanced by having low PP?
not balanced enough by low pp since that only super matters in competitive imo (or sketch/Z-moves and ditto)
#pif-hoenn-discussion not turn into #pokemon-type-matchup-discussion challenge impossible
I was wondering if it should be split up into its own channel or whatever the sub channels are called.
spam
Golisopod really said 'nope' and sacrificed scizzor.
e m e r g e n c y e x i t
Everyone on guzma's team just really hate him
How many slots are left open rn?
i don't usually use golisopod because it is pretty slow (although it has really good priority moves) but i can see its ability being really useful or really annoying
golisopod mentioned
1 slot for community poll, since the regis are legendaries, its safe to assume the last one is going to be legendary/mythical as well
1 line for the spriters poll, this poll has already ended
1 line for Winner's raffle,
cause Goli is normally a Fimp bot
He is water type, scysor have 4x weakness
More than I thought
retreat is not cowardly
I do think it is
i mean it is kinda cowardly but that's part of its evo line/biology
Wimpod goes from cowardly soldier to cowardly commander
hey at least it still looks badass
I think that it would be a good dunsparce fusion
Dunsparce body to make this
And golisopod body to make a 6 armed dunsparce
Golisopod/dunsparce is just a plate of seafood
Thank you good sir
Don’t talk like that about my boi
Still gonna be the rarest type in the game
Golisopod's a fun pokemon until you have to fight one
I think someone said theres 20ish rn
Isn't fairy rarer by species?
Sphealotad my beloved
It'd rather get slurpuff than walrein
Makes sense, I love snorlax, but I rage when I try to get one and it just spams yaun and keeps recovering HP with leftovers
With the addition of 4 ice types, fairy is now the rarest in the game
With spheal we get this
Lotad's cuter than spheal and I will die on that hill
But united they conquer
Ngl I’d love to see the lake trio Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie added into the game
I have the same set of 12 spheal images i cycle through
yeah i wouldnt
May I ask as to why?
i'll take Azelf and Uxie, Mespirit can just be deleted
maybe farther now the road, but right now...leave em out
One would be neat, but all three is redundant
What did Mesprit do to you to deserve that 😭😭😭
3 identical pokemon? no thanks
Roamer
Yk what fair lmao
Roamer
Oh god
and since we already have 3 roaming legends in this game, i for real think we don't need more
even just one of them isnt great, they dont really do anything we dont already have
Imagine being a triple fusion and still being monotype
I understand the hate now 😭
Now wait is Tyrunt and Tyrantrum in the game or? I haven’t gotten them yet if so
Announced but not added
theyll be added in the next big update
Bet bet
I love me my dragon types
I wonder what kind of ungodly fusions Eternatus could make if he was ever added
Oh god now I’m picturing Mr Mime mixed with him 😭
Eternatus/Zacian/Zamazenta triple fusion
well sadly...he won't
nothing past Gen 7 will ever be in IF, Frogman has confirmed it
Poison/Dragon/Fighting/Steel type that gets a atk and def boost on switch in
Sadly this means no Tinkaton.
Luckily however this means my metagross/Farfetch'd line didn't get alt'd
Wait…NOOO MY BOY SNOM WONT GET HIS SPOTLIGHT 😭😭😭
nope, its a mix of an engine limitation and the fact the version of Pokemon Essentials they are using severely lacks a lot of data/sprites for most stuff past Gen 7
from the way I understand it, they'd have to remake the game from scratch [in a new engine, with the updated Pokemon Essentials that has said data/sprites]
and dev has no plans for that to my knowledge
I mean understandable but still my boy snom ;3;
gentlemen
So wait Gen 7 is…Sun and Moon right? Or am I dumb?
yes
I approve
So no sword & shield or later
Gen 7 is the Let's Go series, Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon
nope, Sw/Sh, Legends Arceus, BD/SP, S/V, etc
Ok good so I’m still getting my boy Rowlet someday
Imagine be a triple fusion and none of your types have resistance to fight, getting a 8x weakness
Doesn't matter if you proc quick claw
yeah, the Gen 5, 6 and 7 starters were in the poll originally, but got dq'ed due to them having a massive vote following [Dev didn't want the community vote to be nothing but 2 Generations of Starters plus 2 other mons; and wanted more variety]
they will likely get added in later because clearly, the fans want them
Machop lv 10 with caratê chop vs Regitera lv 100
They will eventually be added however*
Ah beat me to it
lol
Yes, I need my chonky bird boy as well as the other starters, and the Black/White starters too, unless those are already in
nope, Gens 1, 2, 3 and 4 are the only starters in the game atm
Oh god the Braixen fusions whenever that option becomes available….
nothing will get too bad, spriters gotta follow the server rules as well
Latios and Gardevior made an anime girl, I’m sure Braixen and Gardevior will make something, but yes I know people gotta follow dem rules
What was the n° 1?
I think it was Sableye, but since that was an extra pick, they had to go down the list
as if they’re not just voting it for greninja lol
For real
OH GOD THE TONGUE NINJA
The first community voted mons that got revealed were Tyrunt and Tyrantrum
I’m IMMEDIATELY fusing Tyrantrum with Tyranitar when I get the chance
lol
Can't wait for minior to get revealed
oh i'm sure
I can’t wait for the Sun and Moon legendaries tbh, just imagine what kind of fusions Lunala would make
I uh, got some bad news for ya....
Oh no 😭
i don't think it's if with the UBs and alola legendaries, it's when
nah infinit fusion 2
It was 4 slots, thats 18% of the slots
dev has no plans for a sequel
And 2 of em was just space magikarp
I need terms I can understand I’m slow ;3;
We only had 20 slots for the poll
Nobody's going to spend 18% of the slots on 2 space magikarps and 2 legendaries
Especially when Gen 6's legendaries were also in the poll
What about future polls? I’m meaning like future stuff not the here and now lol
points to the fact that we wanted to spend pretty much all of the poll on starters
your argument kind of becomes invalid with that in mind
They'll moat likely still look at this poll to judge who they should add in the future, and with such a small # of votes....
It might take a while if not at all
I just hope they eventually get added cause Lunala/Tyranitar sounds dope
I will wait AS LONG AS I HAVE TO
Also I think Buzzwole would have some funny fusions if he ever got added, I just imagine an extremely swole Snorlax when they mix together
I would have picked Lunala + solgaleo (maybe ditch cosmog) over the regis but that's just me. Yveltal + Xerneas is also a neat pair of legendaries (or a few ultrabeasts)
Either way I'm sure we're going to get a few extra add ins latter (The starters that got a lot of vote and maybe a vew popular legendaries) latter in the futur since the game can accomodate them now, but it makes sense to wait after the big release we are having now so the sprites can catch up
look it can't get much more swole than Snorlax/Machoke alt b
"Hmmm...Boi, you will hunt deer."
Now hear me out here…Zygarde too :3
I'd love to see Cosmoem with actual moves
pumpkin fusion
Would be great with Aegislash
kind of can't ditch part of the evo line
YES THIS, THIS WOULD BE THE ONLY NORMAL TYPE ID HAVE ON MY TEAM
Wait is this in the game already?
Ye
I know what I’m doing when I get home
Your loss
Alt sprite so u needa use pokedex to change it to that one
Noted
Bro I have so many sprite ideas but I don’t know jack diddly squat about making them 😭
You can make concept art or give ideas and a spriter makes them
Oh fr?
Yea
Jep
I shall keep this in mind
Link to requests channel
With triple fusions and all the pokes of the oficial Dex
Imagine the number of sprites
Too many 😭
I think its more than 3
gourgeist would be a nice addition
I did it
Yep

false
oh das fabulous!!
u know with liligant we could get hisui alts
it's the God of Snooze
would be a neat idea, yeah!
apparently there isn't much hisuian forms originally but imagine if a lot of Pokémon had that regional variant
I find it funny it's not pillows or the Bana berries
People make fun of people saying game freak didn't design them thinking like that. Meanwhile hisuian Lilligant and Tsareena just exist
And salazzle
Salazzle is literally furry bait
They give it a protruded chest
it's a lizard
what did you expect out of a bipedal lizard? they don't have spines to keep them erect
If anything intelleon is more illogical
Someone told me that the machop line are reptis
i forgot this one is a thing and would surprised if this gets in
No?
I dont know they are many freaking things without consistency
There are many game freaking things
Salandit
“It affects male Combee and Salandit (despite them not being able to evolve while females can). It still affects Pokémon that can evolve in the current game, even if it is not currently possible to meet the requirements for their evolution.”
Yes
A reminder that a lot of questions can be answered with a google search
and dipplin is a mystery till next dlc
Salazzle is neat, I hate perverts who crap on perfectly fine mons
plus with salazzle you get bandit lizard as a bonus
Lewd mammals no reptiles you creeps
Corrosive is a cool ability
It is actually, and there is a good bit of steel types now.
How about neither
Autocorrect lol
lol
it's impressive how #pif-hoenn-discussion is always walking on rule2 edge's
Anyway, like. If people are perfectly fine looking at Machamps square ass and bulge I don't know what to tell you
Aromatic people when I lewd Mac & cheese
Make sure to follow the #rules!
2. No NSFW. I feel like this shouldn't really need to be said, since this is a server dedicated to Pokémon, but here we are. This means no pornography or gore or any of the like. No NSFW names/avatars, no NSFW conversations, no suggestive emotes, no sexualizing Pokémon or other people, and absolutely no mentions of anything horny whatsoever, even as a joke. This also means no edgy jokes that could appear to be a mask for something serious, such as self harm or suicide jokes. The NSFW rule also applies to sprites, all sprites that have breasts/gore or anything otherwise NSFW will not be allowed in the Gallery. (Small amount of cartoon blood is fine, ask a Mod/Sprite Manager in DMs if unsure)
We just got the Regis, which already had plenty of references in the game. The lake trio at least have different stats going on
For those who dont know
Good 'ol rule 2, ruining miltank fusions everywhere
Good
pretty sure it's the other way around
Bad
Reminder Salazzle is a lizard hence it can't have breast's as much as you like to see a bare chest as breasts
To many people need the bonk
i Wonder if one of the new mons could make an yakuza ref
Can't ruin what was already bottom barrel
Salazzle was given a chest despite being a lizard. That's game freak's fault, not ours.
yakuza as the organization or the game?
Prolly the game
tell what area here has nipplos?
Sharpedo and garchomp is just shark squared
I wish one of these fusions would make a reference to the Japanese mafia
can y'all drop the salazzle pointless discussion?
I said a chest, not nipples
By that logic Nidoqueen doesnt have a chest
This is almost crossing the rule 2 line
imo it has crossed a long while ago
Oh yes a bare chest with nothing but patterns on it
But your mentioning it on a sexual way whether your against or with it
Are you sure it's not just the fact it's bipedal that's causing some projection or something?
What is going on this time?
Yea this shouldn't really be a continuing conversation 😕
A pointless discussion thats toeing the line on rule 2
And what has Salazzle to do with it?
Just gonna say voting for it doesn't mean one is a pervert really hate that subtle thing
Look at her go
Well that salazzle breaks it like Miltank does
Im maybe a pervert but not for Salazzle
That's what I've been saying
Literally my argument
Perfectly natural so dumb
You just been saying it breaks rule 2 and that its a chest, of course it's a chest all animals have it
Basilisk
Hope everyone understands that this is a joke
more of a heliolisk thing but still reminded me of it
Swoobat is underrated.
What a cool looking Pokémon. Also cute!
Had it on my white 2 team
Simple is also super fun
nah, Swoobat is exactly where it should be
What a pointless thing to say
Why do you have such outrageous takes
Me says to stop hating the other side that cant be named, other guy says this conversation is breaking rule 2
I mean, peole feel alright about it, it's not amazing, but it's not bad
I like Salazzle its great fusion potential and interesting for fusions
OK THE SALAZZLE CONVERSATION IS OVER WE NO LONGER SPEAK OF IT
Gonna stop it because Cipher put an end to the BS with the gif
Minior is cool, hope he gets in over lycanroc
Same minior gang rise up
Goat
Breaks rule 2 by being naked canonically
You just wont stop
Tbf any mammal pokemon breaks rule 2 for not having clothes besides Jynx, Machoke, & Machamp
I can't stop joking and pointing facts
Well he protects his opinion since probably someone said its r34
Lighten up a little, mentioning rule 2 doesn't break it
You are obsessed with rule 2

Weird we can have a 30 minute convo about a specific random mon but not a 10 min one about a rule on the server
y'all are just weird
Thanks 💖🎩
I like salandit and want a male regional Evo
it’s amusing I’m eating popcorn
We know
hide the monkey before elemonkeys become real
I have something you would like
This is literally a server dedicated about talking about pokemon…
And?
The rule pertains to a pokemon we were discussing because it could be added
Literally the point of this channel
||Komonium Poison/Ground evolves from a male pure poison regional Salandit||
Yooo that's fire! Or I guess not because it lost its fire typing
Yooo thats sick!
Thanks
It was my dream to have exactly that as a Pokemon
That it is a regional Salandit evo in our game was just a random thing added that still fits
salandit is great. little rascal
honestly only lizard pokemon that feels like an actual lizard haha
Please by god let Pokemon see him and add him
speaking of mons cacturne should have a ralsei fusion
Pokemon [and GameFreak by proxy] doesn't listen to the fanbase
otherwise we'd have an MMO by now
Not entirely true. Spinarak is literally a fans oc
is this based off a komodo dragon?
Also next time I do a run ariados is def gunna be a mon I use
yes
also hazmat suits and stuff like that
nice
Wishigigas says: "Wishiwashi should be added to IF!"
He also says to put him out of his misery
this image sent me into fight or flight
Agreed this had me like, "What the F*** is that?!"
This is what adhd looks like
No that is what the brain looks like on Regi
although i hate it this is what wishiwashi fusions realisically would look like
Give the OG 3 Regis a 3-way fusion
I would love Lycanroc if all 3 forms where added, or at least the two original ones
i mean this guy was make purposely sh*t so it'd probably look good if Wishiwashi actually gets in
they would be if it gets chosen
it likely will, there's a few triple fusion sprites floating around in the gallery already
let's hope it is
or at least, I hope it is added
Lycanrock and yvental should also be added i really want a sprite maker to make this a pokemon
Or maybe noivern
could make due with houndoom as a reference alt
Houndoom and noivern maybe
The ears are kina pointy like noiverns ears and the wings has the same type
Is evental already in the poll or lycanrock?
I feel that Noivern and Mightyena could make this.
Yes sounds great
You should include a smaller religious in tge middle
a smaller what
is regigigas christian now?
Why
small religious in the regi wishiwashy swarm lol
regigious
New fairy or psychic type regi
electric and dragon were real weird types for the new regis
Makes sense tho
Dragon = medieval ages
Electric = modern day
Can wait for the future regi if that gets made
And what type would he be
dunno if it's been mentioned but wouldn't we be getting a triple fusion from the golems in IF ?
global warning isnt being very cash money
confirmed yep
nice
just need the sprites for em
which we have 2/3 already
also, I think I heard we got some beta tests versions available, is that right ? or is it limited to testing and not public ?
Yeah it has all new mons up to garbodor
It is a playtest version
great, thanks !
Np
When is the final mon gonna be announced?
on saturday probably
Real, who’s everyone’s top picks?
I can tell you my 3 votea from the spriter vote
🔼
I want lycanroc so bad
Diancie and minior mainly
I like goats
Why is it doing that?
This is a really good line up of mons, I would be happy with any of them being added not just Seviper & Mienshao
well seviper comes with zangoose, so that means no zangoose if no seviper
and we need more fighting types since they are still somewhat under represented
Why is it doing the fnf thing? 💀
i think thats just a seizure
Lycanroc, Scraggy, Gastrodon, and Ludicolo
(At first I thought you were talking to me specifically, and I was really confused :P)
Haha gotchu, great picks I love scrafty
If I understood correctly, for now we have 2 picks left : the last one from the initial poll, and the spriter's pick, correct ? (with the latter NOT being a legendary)
inital poll, trev sprite, blitz sprite
so 3
neat
1 from community, 1 from blitz polls, 1 from Winners raffle, trev sprite is to determine which artist gets entered into the winner's raffle
^
any idea when theyll reveal the choices
i assume its in a few days
they keep reveals to saturdays, so this saturday we are guaranteed the reveal of the last community mon
maybe also the spriter poll mon/line
we won't see the winner's raffle reveal until sometime next month
and that's only because they will probably have contests for the last community slot and spriter poll mon/line
i cant wait for the whole update to be released
feels like just yesterday that new mons were announced lol
gonna have to wait, there's no set date...i know they want to try and get it out before the end of the year...but who knows
its likely that itll be out by the end of the month
its late october
the raffle reveal is gonna come next month
and the update release should come after that
so i think its likely itll finish up by the end of the year
Croagunk, but I know I’m in a minority
90% of my 3s were gen 5 with the exception of Croagunk
Is there a list of the Pokémon that were voted on?
I do see the popularity poll but that’s not it right?
check pins
do you mean the announced mons or all the possible choices?
Possible Choices mb
theyre in the tier list maker in the pins
Ooh so that was the official, thought it was the fan vote
the official vote was a google form in announcements, but that ended over a month ago
Gotcha, how many more mons remain to be shown?
1 more from the original 20, then 2 more bonus lines
The last one of the 20 is probably a legendary, and of those probably Necrozma lol
of course there might be some more bonuses that havent been announced, but dont count on it
Frogman does love giving himself more work
Also worth noting: no Legendary/Mythical pokemon were on the spriter poll
Yeah I saw that, cause he doesn’t want it to be a rush job if it’s legendary/mythical
still hoping for yveltal
I really want death itself to
So, is the spriter poll finished? There are what, twelve pokémon left?
Mine's Seviper. It's my favorite since childhood
spriter poll finished on the 20th.
Rn there is 1 slot for the normal poll, one evo line for the spriter poll, and one evo line for the raffle
So has the update to allow the game to process all the new sprites been implemented yet?
It's surprising how Registeel fusions look more alien than Deoxys fusions
i think itll be implemented when the whole update releases
