Hey @pearl cedar! Are you looking for the Exp Share? You can get it in the Cerulean Pokémon Center from Professor Oak's Aide once you've fused at least 5 Pokémon. They can also be bought from the Silph Co. Lobby for 11,000$ if you saved 7 or more employees, or 8,000$ if you saved all the employees!

To use Exp Share, give it to a Pokémon to hold. That Pokémon will now gain XP without needing to participate in battle.

Exp Share will NOT stack with Exp All.

I can confirm that the capture did not work. Neither the Axew or Sycther were in my PC, nor were they in my Dex, the animation played the click that indicates the capture was successful, but instead of saying that the Axew or Sycther was caught, it said they fled.

They also did not leave the Pokeball at any point during this sequence.

How to restore to a backup save

This only works if you had Auto Save turned on and using 6.4+

1. Open your game folder
2. Double click SaveFile
3. Double click the folder named backups
4. Double click the folder of the save slot you’re reverting. Ex: File A
5. Rename the most recent file to File A.rxdata (The letter will be different if you’re reverting a different save slot)
6. Copy the newly renamed file and paste it into the previous folder. (This will be the folder you had open after step 2) When asked to replace, click yes.

Note: If you don't feel comfortable overriding the save, you can rename it to a different letter on step 5. Ex: File B.rxdata instead of File A.rxdata

Hey @wanton egret! Magic Boots are an IN GAME reward for catching all unfused 501 Pokemon in a non-randomized file (Dex number 1-501). After doing so, the Developer in Celadon will reward you with them. Putting them on will unlock DEBUG options that you can play with.

• Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

Likely after e4, since you need to evolve them all.
So get 1 copy of all the mons, then ng+, evolve them in ng+, and then the moment you complete the 501 dex you can get the boots

The point is just to have the mons available to be able to be leveled

Rather than having to get like Arceus in ng+

or a late game only mon

just do remix mode when you ng+

just in case you miss anything

remix mode 100x easier to 100%

I can't speak for everyone, but at least for me it's that feeling of discovering things again.
The first pokemon games I played grabbed me because there were a lot of creatures that could work in different ways (although later I noticed how many were just far weaker than a few at the top and my interest diminished as the generations went by).
With fusions, there are a lot of combinations that can make otherwise forgettable pokemons completely viable again (types, moveset, abilities...).
The fact that there are so many custom sprites of a good quality also helps to pull you in as there are plenty of fusions that have incredible sprites (even if not all of them are "cool", but that's also part of the draw).

The scientist that gave you the radar told you how it works, but in case you forgot:
You first need to at least have seen all possible encounters from that patch of grass (for that "time" if there are different encounters during the night for example).
When you use the radar, if there are some shown in black, you have not met them yet.
If you met them all, a pokemon at the end of the list will have a green border, that is the radar encounter, that will have 50% of showing up in an encounter where the grass shook twice.

Having trouble keeping up your chain? Read through the steps below.

1. Gather up Repels and Pokéballs of your choice. It is also recommended to have Elixirs, Ethers, or Leppa Berries as well to maintain PP.
2. Apply a repel outside of the grass ⬅️ and then enter the grass where your desired Pokémon is located. The Radar has its own built in radar that only lasts 8 steps. The extra repel is for larger patches that would require more than those 8 steps. For small patches of grass, additional Repels aren’t needed
3. Use the Radar and interact with rustling grass until you find the Pokémon you are looking for, running away from any Pokémon you are not hunting.
4. Defeat or capture the Pokémon. Do not run away. More grass will be rustling around you. Choose a spot that is 4 steps away through grass tiles and is surrounded by grass on all sides. If such a location does not rustle, reuse your PokéRadar until it is. This will not break your chain.
5. Repeat step four until you find a shiny. You can use items between battles to maintain your Pokémon HP and PP.

After 20 battles, you have maxed out your Shiny chance. After 40 battles, you no longer risk breaking your chain based on grass distance however, having grass tiles around a spot is still important.

How to transfer Hidden Ability from one Pokémon to another

So this can ONLY be done with Pokémon caught naturally with their hidden ability, not with a hidden ability ball. Easiest method would be going to Secret Forest which is always a Hidden Ability area, as it doesn't matter which Pokémon you get with a hidden ability. It only matters that it naturally had that HA.

Take mon with HA and fuse it with the mon you want a HA on, and make sure the mon that currently has the HA is the body

Choose the HA, then use a reverser to reverse the fusion, then unfuse the fusion. The other pokemon should now have its HA!

NOTE: Sometimes stats will be temporarily messed up, but will fix upon leveling or fusing

On the new HA mon, you'll actually get access to the move relearner moves of the moves the other pokemon knew when it was captured in addition to the regular moves it can relearn

Dumb question, wondering if this has been fixed yet. Can I have multiple randomized runs saved, and will each of those runs, maintain their randomized pool? I know in the past if I started a new random game it would randomize everything and it would ruin the randomization that was on previous saves. Is that still a thing or has that been fixed yet?

For example, my son has a randomized game. If I start my own randomized game on a different save, will my randomized game re-randomize everything that he sees as well. That is the behavior I have seen in the past, but I don't know if that has been fixed so that each save file has its own randomized Pokédex based on whatever the random selection was.

Hey @uneven eagle! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

• Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

• Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

Caught a shiny in a randomized run. It's a Gastly/Banette, and it has a red star. When I go to unfuse it, the Banette shows a red star if it gets chosen to be the shiny, but when Gastly is chosen, it's a black star. Why does Gastly get a black star? Both are not shiny at the same time, as this is just from reloading the game until I got both to show as shiny to demonstrate the issue. I know the star color doesn't really matter, but still.

You're lucky, when you unfusing pokemon, the "head" pokemon got change into brand new pokemon, apparently one of your pokemon got change into shiny, you're supposed to have one shiny after unfusing.

If I read the thing about the stars correctly, it sounds like Banette would've been the "naturally spawned" shiny, hence the star being red. However, when you unfuse a shiny, it randomly picks which one becomes shiny, so the Gastly, the "unnaturally spawned shiny" in this case, would have a black star

the fusion is shiny, yes, but it's specifically the Banette half that is shiny- the game tracks the shininess of each half seperately. You shouldn't be getting a shiny Gastly at all (outside of the rare shiny upon unfusing)

Ralts and it's evo line are not locked by gender in this game (and that goes for any other mon as well)
Gardevoir is just by leveling, Gallade by evo stone.
That being said, while you can change genders, there's no point mechanically since it doesn't do anything in pif, and you'll lose any gender sometimes while fusing
You can change the gender of caught wild mons with Gender Balls (Saffron City), or use a gender stone, which I think you get one of.

You will want to do at least some quests and grab Flash from the scientist at the top of the stairs in hotels (1 quest for flash, 10 for the item replacement).

4. Defeat or capture the Pokémon. Do not run away. More grass will be rustling around you. Choose a spot that is 4 steps away through grass tiles and is surrounded by grass on all sides. If such a location does not rustle, reuse your PokéRadar until it is. This will not break your chain.

To change a Pokemon's sprite to an alternative one, go to their Pokedex entry (this can be done from their summary screen) and go to the "Sprites" tab. Here you can scroll through the different available sprites.

They evolve normally.
If both can evolve at the same time (same level for example), it will give you the choice between the two, you will need to meet the condition again for the second (levelling up again or using the item again, depending on how the pokemon evolves)

This one is a bit special, this is where you get the item replacement for waterfall.
Fly/teleport to the pokecenter next to rock tunnel (south of where you are) and go up the waterfall from there instead.

You should have been given a map as a key item from your rival's sister in your starter town (go grab it if you didn't get it).
Saffron is the big city in the center of the map, that you bypassed via tunnels twice already.

After clearing the celadon sewers, the grunts asking for money instead fight you and you can enter after you beat them.

Depends on your team and where you have access to, so it's hard to answer.
If you find a trainer with a chansey (or a fusion with it), those give a lot of exp.
As a result, the usual grinding spots is south of victory road if you have your 8 badges for example.

The best way to farm exp is through trainer rematches. You can talk to a trainer again and get the option to rebattle them. The more you battle them, the higher the level they become and their Pokémon can evolve as well.

Number of Rematches:

• After 4 rematches, the head Pokémon will evolve regardless of badges.
• After 9 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, the head and body Pokémon will evolve.
• After 19 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, it will evolve again.
• After 29 rematches and gaining 6 or more badges, it will evolve again if not maxed already.

Below are the best trainers to rebattle for exp on their respective modes
Classic (Left)

• Cool Trainer Sofia outside of the League has a lvl 42 Chansey.

Remix (Right)

• Route 32 Fisherman Justin has a lvl 63 Blissey fusion and a lvl 5 Magikarp.
