If the first member of your team has compound eye (an ability), you have better odds of wild pokemons holding items (even if it is KO).
If your pokemon has the ability Frisk, it will tell you what a pokemon holds.
If your pokemon doesn't hold anything, the move thief will take the item from them and you will be able to get it from the pokemon after the fight.
Thankfully this is easier than catching tens or potentially hundreds of pikachu.

Talk to them, if they can fight again they will ask you if you want a rematch.
The wiki tells you what each trainer does after being defeated (some give items, some can be fought again, some just talk).

Hey @last jungle! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

• Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

• Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

A good strategy is to farm Leppa Berries in the dark room of Mt. Moon (teach Covet or Thief to a poké and use it against Cleffas and Cleffairys)

Hey! Are you having a hard time getting into the Secret Forest or Viridian River, or are you looking for extra starters? After getting to Celadon, you can enter it from Route 16!

From the Secret Forest, you can then enter the Viridian River where depending which tile you enter from, you will find different sets of starters as an overworld encounter. You'll hear a sound cue if an overworld encounter spawns when you enter the area.

Can someone help me understand how stat feathers work? (Never played an original Pokemon game)

I use Protein on a Pokemon to level up his Attack stat until it cannot be used anymore but then I use Muscle feathers on them and then it works?

I got almost +4 more Attack but I dont understand why Protein is not working then.

Proteins and the likes increase your pokemon's EV (effort value) for that stat but it caps out before the actual cap for EV for a stat (100 instead of 255 I believe).
The feathers do not have that cap (so all the way to 255).

EV are a bit of a complex mechanic though, as you are not actually getting the stat to rise for every EV point, there are other sources (defeating pokemons give EV based on the pokemon defeated for example) and there is a hard cap for the total EV as well.

I would recommend looking up a guide if you need more details about EVs.
TL;DR: Feathers can push the EV higher than proteins

The non-feathers give 10 points at a time, but that still makes them more expensive so I am really not too sure too

In other games you usually can't buy the feathers, but I think the dev based the price on the sell price for feathers (price you can sell the item to shops to get money), which is 150 for gen 7 (and the price for proteins and such and such were at 10,000 to buy and 5.000 when selling).
Just a wild guess though

Since you can only use items one at a time, you could consider the higher price a "convenience premium", not much of a consolation but still.

You can also re-battle many trainers (no money but exp), they even get slightly stronger each time.

It's just to quicken up the "in between". So you catch a new pokemon (for example my route 2 encounter is level 2, while the rest of the team is 9 - rare candies let me get it to 8 or 9 in about 3 second vs killing 100 level 2-4 pidgies.

That's really it.

It stemmed from the idea that since runs restart, focus on the trainer/gym fights vs grinding wilds, especially since after your first wild in an area is the only one that matters.

1. Must be on 6.4.6+ for this to work. If you aren't on 6.4.6+, update your game and reshuffle your settings. If you don't know how to reshuffle, type: ?tag reshuffle

If you have an empty slot in your party and a normal red Pokéball in your bag (won't work with other balls), you'll also get a Shedinja! If your Nincada was fused with something else (say, a rare legendary), you'll thus have two fusions of that other Pokémon, successfully duplicating it. :eyes:
