I'm picking up the game again after a while and I wanted to do a randomizer run. In a previous version of the game there used to be a way to like, dynamically generate random items or smth, so every time you picked up an item it was generated to a different item, and not just every item is mapped to a different item. Is there a way to do that for the most recent version of the game or would i need to find an older version.

So, I had my pawniard use Theif and got some Berry juice off a wild pokemon.
I don't know how or why, but the Nidoreon in the back of my party equipped the Berry juice and now I no longer have access to the EXP. Share it was holding before hand.
There was no word about this, no pop up or anything like that, I had just noticed that it hadnt been leveling up while I was farming.

Is this a common bug with the move Theif or something? Either way, are there any other ways to attain an EXP Share?

This is due to having a full party and using the menu to swap a pokemon out with someone in your party. When you do this, it is deleting items. Avoid this menu

Same if you try unfusing Pokémon in a full party

it also leads to swapping items to pokemon that didn't have the item before also

So random thing here - I recently redownloaded the game. And have started a Randomizer run because I wanted a fresh experience, and wanted to see as many custom Sprites as possible.

Problem being, the catch rates are god awful. I've poured so many poke balls at different pokemon, and currently only have two pokemon despite being well up to route three at this point. (I know that's still not far, but at the same time if it wasn't for the catch rates I likely would've had a near full team thus far)

My question was - is this a weird glitch where the catch rates just absolutely dive bombed, or is this just how the randomizer works?

Hey @median narwhal! Are you looking for Dive? The Dive HM is in Azalea Town! You can also get its replacement item, the Scuba Gear, on the Brine Road (Sevii Islands) (only once you have the HM already).

Hey @distant knot! Are you having trouble with the Pokéradar? You get it from the scientist in Cerulean City's Pokécenter. She gives you the Exp share as a quest reward there, and then will go to Route 24, where she will give you the radar.
When using it, make sure you have a repel active, or else you may only get regular encounters.

If it was randomized and you turn it off, it won't return it back to its original pokemon.
If it wasn't randomized and you turned it off, it stays the same.

Just depends when the game randomized those mons

so in the case for cresselia, it probably randomized it before you turned it off
