Hey @mental bear! Are you looking for Strength? The Strength HM is given to you by Janine in one of the houses in Fuchsia City! You'll need to wake up the Snorlax south of Lavender Town first. You can also get its replacement item, the Handtruck, on Route 13, from the trainer with a Rhyhorn (only once you have the HM already).

if you are in battle, you can press f12. If you are not in battle, it will crash your game.

Use it at your own risk since it is buggy, so make sure to save prior and turn off auto save

Hey @fickle lion! Are you looking for Cut? The Cut HM is given to you by the captain of the S.S Anne! You can get an S.S Anne ticket from Bill at the end of Cerulean Cape, which is north of Cerulean. You'll then find the key to the Captain's cabin on the deck of the S.S Anne. You can also get its replacement item, the Shears, on the east path of Route 2 (only once you have the HM already). You can use Cut to access it from the west path of Route 2, or take Diglett's cave from Vermillion City to get to it!

You can use Cut to access it from the west path of Route 2, or take Diglett's cave from Vermillion City to get to it!

Hey @ionic spoke! Are you having trouble with the Pokéradar? You get it from the scientist in Cerulean City's Pokécenter. She gives you the Exp share as a quest reward there, and then will go to Route 24, where she will give you the radar.
When using it, make sure you have a repel active, or else you may only get regular encounters.

There are two types of major controller input (drivers) for pc. The Xbox protocol, Xinput, which is the most common, and Dinput (PlayStation protocol) which is used on some other controllers. PIF doesn’t support Dinput natively, but does support Xinput.

So most controllers should simply work, but you will need additional software to convert Dinput controllers to Xinput to make them work with PIF.

That’s interesting to hear, it’s always rebound just fine using the f1 menu ingame (referenced on the title screen) with both an xbox360 wired controller and the 8bitdo (which is just a basic Xinput controller), to any different buttons I wanted.

Yeah that is why we have a guide on how to setup the game through Steam for controller support. People try rebinding with controllers and it doesn't work. It has been like that since I have been here, but if you found a way to do it, that would be nice to know lol

I wish I knew what I did to help out, rebinding just worked out of the box from the download, and on 2 different pcs. Shame that it doesn’t work for most people but steam input is great so I don’t see any issue with using that instead of the ingame binds.

It might also just be the type of controllers you are using as well. DInput vs Xinput controllers, or wired vs bluetooth. I think most people are using Xbox One or PS4/5 controllers when they play this game

Yeah I have both wired and a Bluetooth Xinput device working fine, a buddy has Xbox One and his also works the same as the x360 wired that I tested, but Dinput like the ps4/5 controllers need steam input or an external program to covert to Xinput to be supported it seems, judging by my ps5 controller which I used with steam.

Developers have a vision for a game, this goes for nearly every single game. Balance and progression is a huge part of the experience and a lot of effort is put into it.
If you don't like the vision of the dev, that is a you problem.
