From my understanding on this situation,

The reasoning on why you broke the rules is

Trying to find files to go back a version (modifying files) (rule 23)

To use Debug (illegitimately obtained since it stopped working) (rule 24)

Apparently the dev put in the update so that debug requires some files (which is spawned when obtained legit) that isn’t there for other methods

Hey @tepid ember! Are you trying to add more custom sprites to your game? You can find the most up to date sprite pack containing all custom sprites in #downloads! To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

You tried to enable debug mode illegitimately in the scripts, that doesn’t work anymore. Delete the Data folder in the game folder and rerun the INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat file in the gamefolder

When using it, make sure you have a repel active, or else you may only get regular encounters.
