We unfortunately didnt get the lobby servers fully setup in time for the event, they were almost done and we could have during the event but there wasnt a point since we didnt go over the 500 player cap. Which tbh, we probably could have gone closer to 600! And yes 10gb is insane for that player count haha. When we had 320 players on the same size map with 100 mods it was up to 45gb ram usage

Both yesterday and today the server ran very well for me, there was periodic spikes of lag, but just tiny unnoticeable framedrops. overall, my FPS was better than on my singleplayer world. I have pretty horrible internet, (currently it's 11mbps) and it ran great, responsiveness was immediate.

Multiplayer events are super fun especially in this game and it was great to try to hunt down the devs, and face down Saraty in single combat. I appreciate that Pizza let us fight lol

in the future I would hope VS has minigames and all kinds of great servers people can join

I have my own ideas for multiplayer events that could very fun so perhaps we should keep in touch

Nimbus our proxy server system that we made allows that now 🙂 We planned to use it for this event but we just barely didnt finish setting it up in time. Very good idea! Our next big 500 player event will start in mid July with a 1200 player event starting in august-september

We will be doing a few small events between those with 100-400 players

It was great overall! amazing to see so many folks on at the same time.

As you may have seen, the few minor desync issues happend and some other base game issues were exacerbated by the amount of folks on the server (heals , panning progress tasks interrupted by a player dying) . but Yeah that's a VS issue.

Awesome to see what Stratum was able to do! Shame that you didn't get to stresstest it fully to the scaled up potential of 1500 but 475+ was bloody brilliant

We wanted to have 12 lobby servers setup with 200 slots each. Since 2000 players tried joining yesterday. But we didn’t get the lobby servers setup fully just barely had a little more to do and not as many players joined today so we didn’t end up needing them anyways

Yeah good we banned them though and they actually helped in a way. It allowed us to be able to make new anticheat ways to prevent it next time

I was severely tempted to annoy the players on my server into joining in and having us all make grey-toned seraphs with the most face-obscuring hair combos we could cook up
and just do nothing but slap Tyron or throw rocks at him for

which (among many other things) adds the ability to make pitfalls and punji traps

so I was constantly being a nuisance to a couple groups by turning random corners of their base areas into the vietcong experience

Genuinely set up inta kill traps at the cost of 3 minutes

which was neat- he had a rock fight, a free-for-all, a chisel competition, and a couple other things
people set up food stalls and shit, there was a beer hall, so on

I mostly ran around flexing my enormous library of .abc music
though I did compete in the spear throwing competition iirc

This is 650 bots in the server and it’s very stable. The server didn’t start lagging until 850 bots. Bots have a bigger impact than players so that should mean we are already capable of handling 900-1000+ players in a single server 🔥

He had to use a temporal gear, that really helps on network issues since it uses it to open a rift between the server and the end computer, shortening transmission times

What Tsu posted below custom server software, we are submitting a lot of its code to the devs so they can put it into the base game. And it’ll benefit all players and servers even clientside. And then I also have a beast of hardware 😅
