really stupid question I think but: If I am encountering unstable ping for short spurts on one client, but not on another client running at the same time with another account, would that be more likely to indicate that the issue is more client-side than anything down(up?)stream network-wise?

I am trying to troubleshoot why I am getting periods where the game's tick rate seems to be playing constant catchup, but I dont really know how to properly diagnose the issue. the main question was about the existence of a runelite file that holds infobox position data.

Helpers do not recommend that you go around manually editing profiles, because it's easy to break them if you don't know what you're doing. If a plugin is misbehaving, it makes more sense to report that issue to the author so it can be fixed without having to resort to manual profile editing

it counts mining and when the paydirt reaches the reward sack as mining too

i am about to test if it counts 11 paydirt as one ore

i tried with 1 and it went up by one when it reached the rewards sack

@dense flame If one of your keys isn't working in game, you've most likely bound it to a feature of a plugin. The Debug Helper hub plugin can show what keys are bound to what plugins.

Hello, I ran into an issue I can’t seem to resolve. I had signed into a new laptop with my runelite account and was trying to get them to sync over profiles. My main acc had its default profile set as the linked profile. I had made a copy of the default profile before renaming it. The original default profile got wiped and the copy I made has all the plugins, but most of the setting per plugin are reset. Is there a way to find an old profile that’s not in the profile2 folder?

Yeah this where the problem came in, I did that and synced my profiles. I couldn’t find the link character to profile button(didn’t realize I needed to be logged into the game) because whatever character I logged into would just load the last previously used runelite profile. so I had turned on and off the sync button and reloaded runelite on the new pc. On my desktop my main character was linked to the default profile. I made a copy of it and changed the name of the default profile on accident so it made a new default profile which was basically a fresh profile. The copy I had made has all the plugins but settings like fonts, true tiles highlights etc are all reset but in other plugins, like custom menu swaps, everything is still there

Hey guys, curious if anyone else is having crashing issues on Linux. Seems like it's the GPU plugin causing it? Every now and then for no reason that I can find Xwayland crashes and kills the whole client and sometimes restarts the whole desktop environment with it. When I log in I occasionally will get quick glitchy colorful textures across the screen. Googling hasn't turned up anyone that I can find having a similar problem. How would one go about to try identify what causes immense fps stutter drops in toa, mainly at Akkha, that almost feel like screen tearing once it happens? Found an ancient "try to see if it fixes" "fix" by allocating more memory to my pagefile on my pc, it helped initially but the issue is back again, checked my logs on RL to see if there was any plugin chokes, some occured and got rid of them as they were plugins I had close to no use of but issue still persists. Been a bit since I did much in the way of firewall stuff on windows, but that screenshot above shows your network is set to a public network. I have no idea whether Windows has other security settings that might impact, but you could try opening your network settings and setting it to a private network

eh I cant talk in #development . I was setting up all the pre-work for an update to the trouble brewing plugin, specifically the part to show clearly when an object is broken and can be fixed, and how.

my intention was a coloured "mark object, style outline" alongside a quest-helper style image of the specific item overlayed on top of it.

To help prepare this, I made a spreadsheet with every object ID that needs to be outlined, alongside its colour and the accompanying item ID.

I also got the ID's for the sweetgrub mound since it might be hard to spot for people, with potentially an optional raw rat meat overlay. (preferrably toggleable).

Hi i checked on event viewer via windows. Says crashes are on an opengl to nvidia.

Is this the ‘memory leak’ that’s been causing also a crash besides from the ISP/internet disconnection?

I tried removing the november’s 2025 driver to a January’s 2026 instead and used the gpu legacy

I tried setting a modification also via the control with Nvidia on open gl setting to auto select and power management to performance option too

There were freezes during the time before toggling these all ingame and doing a reinstall with driver on a clean installation but it aint a disconnection on ISP because there was no dcing happening.

Tried also setting the hardware acceleration to off via runelite along with the browser i mostly used and definitely will toggle off with discord’s app as well

is there an actual fix for inventory setups and charged jewelery, so whichever piece of jewelry is currently in use (> 0 and < max), will be used in the setup? The only fix i've found is to create a separate bank layout, ie basically throw inventory setups out the window for the setups that have charged jewelry. so my question is why is my plugin being denied when a plugin that blatantly breaks the rules is allowed,

it gives the streamer eliop14 a huge advantage being able to sit in an ocean of 300 clan members and only highlight enemy clans for pvp, why is that allowed yet mine is denied

sorry i have been mixed up it's the entity hider plugin which does this (combines with player indicators to make it more visible) you can set up entity hider so that it HIDES your entire clan which makes only your enemies visible - player indicators is then used to label the opposing clan.

In conjunction these two plugins very specifically break the rules you allege to follow.

just seeking guidance on inconsistant rule applications, for example in the above case could I make a plugin that does not break the rules but when added to another plugin the combined use breaks the rules?

it does not seem to be a rule issue after all

so if you're applying rules to me, why wouldn't i want the same for a plugin that's used to break the rules in wilderness pvp, my clan gets abused with it daily

specifically says indicating players in an opposing clan in pvp. You get this effect by hiding your own clan and using player indicators. Meanwhile the player on the other side has 300 accounts running under them causing missclicks but you give advantage to the clan who bots

I've very clearly laid out how/why this effect creates advantages in pvp, you have clearly shown a willingness to stretch the rules to fit whatever agenda you wish to push

Just to use your example though, a random player not in the clan you're targeting would also be made more visible in that situation. Since it doesn't specifically highlight only players in the opposing clan, that's considered ok.

I understand the situation is frustrating but we just ask that you keep in mind that we're all human. As was mentioned previously your plugin PR being closed right off the bat was perhaps jumping the gun a bit, which is why it was reopened.

If you want to discuss the entity hider/player indicators combo being potentially against the rules that's fine but it would be best to treat that as a separate discussion from that of the legality of your plugin.

It was decided that the original closure was in error, which is why it was undone. I can't really make it not have happened in the first place.

I also haven't personally looked at your plugin at all as I'm not a hub reviewer, so I haven't formed any sort of opinion on your plugin.

My involvement here is limited to just trying to speak to why the plugin combination you mentioned was interpreted as being allowable. I'd be more than happy to discuss it further, though I'm not able to do so at length right now

We're all software people so we can be super literal a lot of the time and that generally applies to our reading of Jagex's rules as well.

Basically the reason it's viewed as ok, as I understand it, is that the rule gets read as "Indicates players [specifically because they are] in an opposing clan in PVP" whereas the plugin combination you brought up hides players in your clan, and then makes all other players a bit more visible. Because a player who isn't in your clan isn't necessarily in an opposing clan (maybe they're not in a clan at all, for example), that's viewed as being compliant

& that is literally what they are doing to us. you give them the ability to define enemies - hide all other distractions while labeling the enemies

does the methodology of which this is achieved really matter
