Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

I'm having a strange issue where I'm unable to switch chat modes while runelite is maximised on my laptop window. However if I move the chat window slightly upwards while holding alt, it suddenly works again. Has anyone encountered this before?

Anyone havng issues with fishing not working with Idle Notifier? I've messed around in the settings and even downloaded a second plugin specifically for fishing. Can't seem to get them to work. The only time it will notify me is if I stop fishing due to inventory filling. It won't notify me when my character stops fishing because the spot moved.

Idle notifier is working part of the time. Not all of the time though. I get notifications from RuneLite already. Like when my inventory fills up, it pings me and makes my screen flash just like how I set it up

However, it's not notifying me at all when the spot moves, my character stops fishing, and I still have inventory spots left.

If you are talking about the screenshots taken by RuneLite they should go into ~/.var/app/com.adamcake.Bolt/data/bolt-launcher/.runelite/screenshots and not the clipboard, maybe your lost screenshot is actually in there.
As far as changing where RuneLite puts it's screenshots your best bet might be symlinking it elsewhere.

The jvm_crash... log file doesn't exist. I've changed the file path in the above for privacy. (I think the above log might be for the RL restart I did before checking the log)

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

To answer the other part of your question, you can use this syntaxnpcid:preset color to add new npcs in that list, with preset color corresponding to the numbered colors presets under the 'presets' tab in bettternpc settings. so 12226:5 would tag vard head with preset color 5

Even just did a fresh install of windows. Loaded up my old runelite profile and immediately had the same kind of system freeze down to 1 FPS

So, ive been having a problem with the GPU plugin which from my search around the internet is very common but none of the solutions ive tried such as the notorious UI scaling option of the GPU config(ive tried every configuration) , any other config on the plugin itself, I messed with every permutation of the high DPI compatibility settings, I tried the 177 HD plugin but its too far away from the original osrs look, im not using stretched mode, my Nvidia graphics card doesnt have FXAA on, Im playing on windowed mode, Ive tried unlocking my fps and setting the target fps to the refresh rate of my monitor. I'm completely out of options currently and im starting to think its impossible to have more chunks rendered while having the same graphical fidelity as I have without GPU off

The GPU plugin is simply more accurate when rendering so like Alex said there is a base "improvement" of the graphics. You can tune it to appear more like the classic one but there is still a base difference

hello, not sure if this is the right spot to put this. But runelite on my laptop has suddenly stopped working. Anytime i open anything runelite related (regular launcher/safe node/even the configure thing) it launches as a black square if focused. Hello, im currently stuck with an issue where my game launched fully white. This was "fixed" but starting runelite is safe mode and disabling my "GPU" plugin, however once my game finally launches via the jagex launcher and try to turn on ANY gpu plugin so my game isnt blurry or has a 20 tile render distance my game fully crashes.

After trying out different GPU plugins such as experimental and legacy my runelite is now stuck on "Starting Core Interface"

Anyone have any idea on what to do? The fomo is real atm

The runelite-github-app Bot says i cannot use javax.sound but for my Plugin to work i need to capture the Mic since its an Voicechat Plugin. I can play the incoming Audio through the RuneLite API but capturing the Mic is not supported there. Are Plugins accessing the Mic now blocked or is there any way to get an exception for this one?

ideally you would use the runelite sound apis if at all possible

it's been a while since I've played RL overall. I see that in recent years RL and Jagex have been more cooperative. I'm basically just trying to figure out can I accidentally download cheats with RL. I've played FFXIV where plugins there are a lot more "wild west"

here's what I did

1. I had my main ironman client open for greg btw
2. I opened 2nd client for my alt dayoh
3. I realized dayoh was still using greg btw profile, so I swapped it to dayoh profile and set account-profile link for dayoh
4. I looked back on greg btw client and realized the account-profile link was greyed out, so I enabled it, but then realized that "greg btw" was listed 2 times in the tooltip, and I posted in discord about it
5. I went back to dayoh client and mistakenly switch to greg btw profile, and runelite instantly crashed

No idea what's going on here, still happening even after deleting cache which resulted in his profile not having any of his plugins and then having to restore the plugin/profile folder from the recycling bin

Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

The Jagex launcher itself if very flexable. It will run a shell script placed in right path. So you could even replace RL app with a shell script that just runs the jar if needed.

Old launcher should work but if not I'll test that locally.

I see a few aarch dms in your downloads. None of those will work you have an intel mac not apple silicon. I'd think macOS would have an obvious error message though if you tried running one with open command though.

You're welcome. The install page for adopenopenjdk 17 only shows compatibility with macOS Monterey 12.7.6 and newer.

Install instructions are download old launcher. Run it once manually so gatekeeper approves it then run this command in terminal to replace the executable with a script that runs the jar. I have this testing working with current Jagex launcher.

You already have old RL app installed so just run that command and Jagex launcher should work.

It's all one line. Be careful when copy and pasting it.

Let me know if that works for you. This will break the app running manually and you must have run RuneLite manually (then quit) at least once before running command.

RuneLite no. Jagex launcher should be fine to keep open.

Command has no output. Once you run it clicking Play RuneLite on Jagex Launcher should open client.

Tested working with latest Jagex launcher and that macos old dmg. Although not tested on catalina. I'm on 15.7.4.

im guessing this is covered by some rule, but im curious. if I were to use another games sound effect as a placeholder in my plugin and forget to remove it, would that break a rule?

@frigid flame You must have a license for any assets used in a plugin or it will be rejected. It would just never get added to hub.
