I've never had issues running the game or anything, my rig is a monster as well.
Yesterday and for weeks prior, I played for hours just fine, but today while AFK fishing and watching videos, I started getting black screens while running RuneLite.
I have not installed any new or questionable plugins or changed any settings, and the game was running fine for at least 2-3 days after the latest driver updates for my GPU, so I don't think that's the issue either.
That being said...
It looks very similar to the "flashes" you get whenever you do a driver update. I'm tech literate, but not savvy, so with this one I'm at a loss. Never encountered this before. Any help is appreciated, feel free to ask about system specs or whatever is needed to figure this out. Thanks in advance.It also might be worth mentioning that when the black screen ends, RuneLite is completely x-logged, not even present in the application tray, but everything else is fine. The most recent crash reset my desktop background image to a black screen itself, though. Super odd.

So i tried fixing potions not showing in bank tag layouts but my extended anti-venoms still show 0. Other potions show correctly. I exported the tags with layouts and imported them without the layout. Thanks in advance.

Yeah even my fix doesnt make any sense. The tag is no longer on the potion in question but now shows the potions from storage in the tag tab. Adding the tag back then shows 0 lmao

Does anyone know why i'd be getting lag spikes/malformed login packet errors ONLY in Runelite? I've moved over to the Jagex client whenever I have to do anything dangerous because i'll get logged out of Runelite or lag for several seconds at a time whenever I use RL. It's been happening for about 3 weeks now, tried turning off lots of different plugins but so far no luck. I use the Jagex launcher to launch Runelite btw if that makes any difference

I literally 1 hour ago logged in, game works fine, i click the logout icon in the fixed menu, whole game freezes. For the next hour i tried safemod, configured all options of hardware accel and no dice. I just bought this laptop so idk what could be the issue. Its kinda weird since it doesnt have a "traditional gpu" it has a "quadro m1000m" which is some kind of workstation thing? But then i dont know why did the game load the first time. I also tried reinstalling, tried the 64+32bit ver and still nothing.

I kinda suspected the gpu to be the problem so i disabled it in the device manager so that it only runs using integrated graphics(intel hd 530) but same thing happens. Just freezes when trying to load into the world.

it will probably be there yes, but if you the enemy is not in the most recent x amount of enemies you killed, it wont load the old data on kill, only on startup

Referring to my described issues earlier, it seems turning on forced FPS limitation has resolved it for the time being. This suggests to me that there is some kind of over-ramping going on where the FPS just goes until it crashes the GPU (on a 5080)

open your cmd prompt on your pc and do "ping google.com -t" and watch for packet loss. This will tell you if your internet is the issue, or if its more client side

If one of your keys isn't working in game, you've most likely bound it to a feature of a plugin. The Debug Helper hub plugin can show what keys are bound to what plugins.

Hey, I’ve been having an issue where RuneLite randomly freezes, then my screen goes black for a few seconds, and when it comes back, RuneLite has closed while everything else (like Discord) stays open.

I checked the client logs and saw consistent errors related to the Attack Bar setting in the Attack Timer Metronome plugin. It looks like it’s crashing during overlay rendering. I tested with the setting on and off — the error only appears when it’s enabled.

Below is a screenshot of the error from the logs. Just wanted to check if this is a known issue or if there’s a fix. Thanks in advance.

That's basically par for the course, something else generally happens that causes that error to get spammed a ton, often because a different plugin broke and caused other plugins to encounter a bad/unexpected state. If you actually post the log I can look at it

So, I'm trying to play OSRS via runelite in a tiling window manager. I set _JAVA_AWT_WM_NONREPARENTING=1 in the environment (which is a fairly standard fix for java applicaitons). However, the window physically changes size whenever i click on the right-hand side menu. Is there any way to disable this?

you can map ESC to space in key remapping, and turn on ESC closes interfaces in the game settings, and change the F key for inventory to ESC in the game settings.

i tested this and you'd have to press space once to close the bank and again to move from some other slot to inventory if you weren't on it already. but that kind of solves your problem-ish

however i'm not sure if that affects your space to skip npc chat, i feel like it would break stuff by putting keybind on space.

Okay, for a while my Runelite has had fairy bad FPS. Every now and then it seems fine for a bit but then gets bad again. CPU: is a AMD 5600x and GPU is a Nvidia 3700.

I tried everything listed on the wiki and many things from reddit like checking I'm on 64 bit client, hardware acceleration is off, played plugin roulette turning off different things, etc. FPS would dip to 25-30 in areas like fossil island, shayzien camp, arceuus library. Decided to try the experimental GPU plugin and everything is buttery smooth now. 60fps not dropping even a little even running around fossil island.

I guess I'm more curious on what's different between GPU and GPU (experimental). The only downfall is npc and character feet dip just a bit into the ground which is not a big deal.

Yeah that was likely me a few months ago think you guys said its likely a runelite issue and to ask in here but I just put it off and didnt use wikisync until today same issue so I asked in here, though its working now, turning off that zalcano plugin allowed for wikisync to pop up on the list of plugins, but still couldnt turn it on, then unticking the local websocket server option allowed me to finally turn the plugin on

Well there is an issue with 13th and 14th gen Intel processors where the CPU can hurt itself, you are on a quite old microcode 0x105, later microcodes attempt to prevent the cpu from hurting itself, but can't undo damage that has already been done. It might be worth trying to update your microcode though.

Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.

There are probably more reset but i can see some have not. My lighting settings on 117 HD have also randomly changed. @tight ether Many plugins from the pluginhub break the client in subtle or not-so-subtle ways, including causing issues like client freezes. We do not support pluginhub plugins because we do not make or quality control them, and do not recommend their use.

Run the RuneLite (safe mode) shortcut, or with a Jagex account, first run the RuneLite (configure) shortcut and tick the Safe mode box, then launch RuneLite via the Jagex launcher.

This temporarily disables the GPU plugin and all hub plugins which will allow you to confirm the issue is caused by one of those plugins and isn't a core RuneLite issue.
If the issue is caused by a hub plugin, you should isolate which plugin it is and then uninstall the plugin.
