looking at the side-by-side screenshot from jagex, it doesn't seem like we are missing out on anything compared to using the gpu plugin

Pickpocket helper does this but only while you are thieving. After not thieving for a few seconds, the overlay disappears. Is there one that tells you without having to be actively clicking something?

i dont think there is a plugin that currently assists in any of that but it would be possible i suppose? but your actions you tell it to do always fire next game tick (you can be up to 599ms away from a game tick) so you'd have a lot of latency some times?

I use an injected software called Special K for single player games that lets me manage the swap chain for windows to reduce input latency when in borderless mode. I am curious how much input latency if any, the “fullscreen” plugin adds

the game runs on a 50 times per second engine (client ticks) and 600 times per minute (game ticks) you'd measure using those units if anything
i don't think there is anymore input lag for any way to have the game sized
all fullscreen plugin does is actually brick people's runelite and i would advise not to use it

Mostly I think so they get prioritized in piles of items, like the dragon defender I think has a high value so it appears on top of stuff

Is there a way to change the anchoring of overlays? NPC max hit is anchored to the same overlay as buff timers and ammo for example
it would go blurry cuz something picks it up and does some post processing type thing on it
so youd know if you have the problem or not pretty quick after install
RL overlays and many Jagex widgets can be moved around the screen by holding the Drag Hotkey, (default: Alt) configurable in "RuneLite" settings, and left click dragging it around the screen.
Some overlays can be resized by dragging their bounds, right clicking will also reset their size and position.
They can also contain additional options, such as opening the config of the plugin that makes them, which can be discovered by shift right clicking.
you cant change where anchors are or how overlays are ordered in the same anchor though

I’m talking about input latency for things like keybinds and mouse clicks, not the client registering clicks. Borderless mode can add a few milliseconds of input latency when using a controller for example in other games. Not that knowledgeable though

We can change animations to things but. Was wondering if we no longer have the OG animation for how Varrock guards used to attack? With that type of lunge-slash?

Oh shoot you made that one? Love the work bro. The walks are fine, but it's the actual attack animation I was looking for. Haven't tested the rapiers though 🤔 I'm unsure if they still have the animation though. I actually just got back into the game after awhile aha

Does anyone know if there is a plugin that can tell you if you are using accurate or rapid with a bow? I think that is the only case not covered by the attack styles plugin and the attack types plugin. I am just trying to see if I need to make a new plugin or just an improved plugin

I think as a "type" all bow options are defined as "Ranged", and I think as a "style" accurate and rapid are "Ranging" and longrange is "Longrange" because it gives defense xp. That is some really insane vocabulary

i think core wouldn't take my code because its not visible in an enum (its hardcoded in a cache dump) so i copy/pasted/handwrote most of the cache -> java code mapping for each weapon type
but it could very well be outdated
I think type is the damage type and style determines the xp. I don't think either is wrong, its just not helpful to the player. I don't think anything concrete determines the invisible boosts each combat option has, they are just mostly consistent

most people just never have it on accurate in the first place.
I just want to see the current combat option without being in the tab for the most part
its a bit silly to have 2 plugins for it, but accurate/rapid I think happens to be the only case neither will tell you
i still think the core plugin should be the one that displays that information, but i know they're getting the info from an enum somewhere and maybe that value is wrong lol

Is anyone aware of a way to programmatically fetch my user's last logged on time? I've been looking through the RuneLite API docs and saw the WelcomeScreen.LASTLOGIN integer although I'm not sure if that would be useful. I've seen people mention varp 261 when talking about last logged on time. I figure if anything else, I could save most recent logon/logout times to a json file and reference that

Does anyone know if there's maybe a plugin, that can highlight the entire clickbox of an item? Not just the shape of the item, like inventory tags, but like this in the screenshot. Which is from inventory grid, it shows those clickboxes when you move an item in your inventory, but only then. I'm looking for one that shows those spaces at all times.

positioning is a unique skill in osrs due to the tile and tick movement system; tile markers remove that element of skill from teh game entirely

if jagex didn't put it into their client and sunset all 3pc besides their own, there would be riots
removing markers except true tile would create such a massive skill recalibration in this game
im fine with plugins, just not the hacky ones which debase the game

Maybe your operating system is silencing notifications when certain applications are enabled. In Runelite turn on Game message notifications. If you get a notification in game chat then runelite is working properly and your operating system is silencing the notifications

yeah i customized them how i want them. I have 2 monitors. if im clicked onto my non RS screen, the notifications work. i get a windows sound, my RS flashes etc. it works how it should. but when im active on the RS screen, non of the notifs happen

Would it be accurate to say that the only ways to programmatically pull historic GE data for items would be: using an API key for a GE price service (possibly costing money), perform web scraping, fetch real time prices and save them to files to reference at later times?
From the several plugins that I've seen that track bank/inventory/trade values over time, they all store the data at certain intervals or on certain events and use that to build a historic view

No, basically everything just uses the wiki's API which is free
But yes you would want to either store it or more realistically just look it up for the items and times you need since I think the entire historical dataset for real time prices is north of 100gb

Interesting, alright. I checked out the Weird Gloop API to get last 90 days of data for bulk items although it's saying there's a maximum of 1 allowed for that route. For context, I'm wanting to develop a plugin to fetch the current values of my bank items and show the price differences since a certain period of time (last logon or a specified date/time) because sometimes I log in and see that my bank value went up/down but wanna know which items contributed to that. But it's seeming like there are some limitations in how I could accomplish this
You want to use prices.runescape.wiki and pass a timestamp and you can get prices for all items at that one time with a single call

is there any way to make the sound of a projectile hitting you to be uniquely louder?
specifically the sound of delve boulder attack projectile hitting you makes a very usable audio cue that you can react to and switch your prayer
but in later delves the audio cue gets drowned out by all the other noises

some animations seem to "brick" the transmog model so it stops playing walking animations. only fixed by restarting the entire client.
equipping a dragon felling axe seems to do it consistently, even if the system is set to custom so it shouldn't be copying player animations.

I noticed that other plugins under the plugins folder only have .java files while the Runelite example-plugin from Github has a lot more including gradle files. Do I need to keep all of the gradle files, etc?
Will I need to update com.example to be net.runelite.client.plugins.example-plugin.src.main.java.com.example in this context? Is there a recommended way to name the packages?

Hey, I’m looking for a plugin that would show health and prayer bars above my head at all times. Any recommendations?
Err for the health bar, I genuinely don't know if there's any that would help you keep your health bar active at all times (hopefully someone else will know this though, I'd love to know too haha)
For prayer though, the plugin "Prayer" when set up right will let you keep your prayer bar up at all times. UNCHECK the option "hide bar while prayer is inactive" and "hide bar out of combat" then it should be displayed at all times.
Does anyone else here know what plugin or option affects menu options when I have a clue scroll active?
I.e. normally I have this NPC's option set to "trade" when left clicked, but whenever a clue scroll is active and needs the same NPC to interact with, it will be "Talk To" instead

It seems like no matter what I do, my login screen keeps defaulting to the original runescape login screen instead of taking whatever the new login screen is (like the new varlamore one)

Hello, I would greatly appreciate any feedback: I'm querying RS wiki's API to get GE prices for a bulk list of items at a certain point in time. For historic data, there appear to be 2 APIs that return a list of avg high and low prices for all traded items within a range of 5 minutes or 1 hour.
The problem I'm facing is that if an item wasn't being traded within the 5 minute or 1 hour timeframe of the epoch time specified, the item isn't listed in the API's returned json output. I'm thinking of iterating (possibly a finite number of iterations) thru epoch times + 3600 seconds (since the 1 hour API requires the epoch time to be divisible by 3600) until the item appears in the json output. I'm not sure what would be considered too many API calls though; also I am specifying a custom value in the User-Agent header
Alternatively, I rely on the timeseries API and find a time closest to the specified epoch

With the prayer plugin i can have my prayer bar above my characters head under my floating health bar, there is an option to "always show" this prayer bar even when not in combat, is there an option like that for my hitpoint bar too?

there's a plugin that lets you see your inventory in an overlay but not interact, that would not be allowed

Hey Im looking for someone to make me a basic plugin for runlite, I dont think it would be too hard but what do I know. It basically an overlay for a chunklocked account that you unlock chunks with xp.
plugin would need to check total xp, and work out how many chunks can be unlocked. where the chunk requirements scale. Would need an overlay that says "total chunks unlocked X, X Xp till next chunk" whereas the total xp scales say by 1% increase after every goal/chunk is unlocked"

Runelite plugin sucks
So I am attempting to rune Runelite through Steam and wondered if I could ask a question. Did the bit where you replace the osclient with rune lite. Running it says System cannot find the path specified. I am suuming this is where I insert the C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\Runelite\Runelite.exe" %command% thing in andvanced properties. But I dont know where to find to replace my specific user name. or even if this is still how you do it those videos are old

What’s it do
Making a chunkman but chunks are unlocked via XP, wanted an overlay that shows how many chunks I have unlocked via my total xp. and how much xp till next chunk unlock. It also pops up with a message when unlocking a new chunk and makes a sound

hey guys, i was wondering if anyone else was noticing a problem with the customizable xp drops plug in and hit prediction with scorching bow (and i think other demon bane weapons maybe?)
i have noticed that its not giving the right numbers on the new delve boss, the predicted hit is always a higher hit than the actual hit, i dont have any multipliers on, and it seems to only be inaccurate on the boss but other enemies around the game its accurate, is this just a me issue or has anyone else been noticing this?

Is there a way to apply a set of configuration/settings changes in the plugins? For instance, when I go PvM, I like setting NPC Indicators to highlight everything (*) and disable XP Orbs plugin, among other changes. Going back and forth these settings all the time for different situations is a bit tiring.
I thought of using profiles, but it feels like very heavy to switch to another profile on the fly, not to mention that any "global" changes that I do like installing a new plugin would probably have to be done on all profiles, which is also a hassle.

After a bit of digging, I've come to realize that the Project Drop Rate project seems rather obnoxious in not sharing the data without explicit direct requests to the people who have access to said data.
Is this because of some TOS garbage the average person wouldn't bother reading up on, or would a "Open Drop Rate Project" project be allowed to exist on the plugin hub, if one was to develop such a thing?

One of them is cost (the overall dataset is about 30 terabytes now)

The reason I said I wasn't interested in the data itself, is that if I get the rates in a computerized format like a csv, json or parquet format (or god forbid a db dump, anything but a webscrape) - I'd not have a need for the raw data.

Hi, just wanting to confirm - the only way to fetch current bank items is by subscribing to the onItemContainerChanged event and getting items from the bank interface when it opens?
If so, is there a way to perform asynchronous operations when the event is triggered? I'm fetching various data for bank items and then placing data into a JPanel which can take some time and causes a delay when the bank interface is opening. The JPanel update can at least use invokeLater from swing utilities, but my main problem is the time it takes to fetch the item data which I would like to somehow do asynchronously. Seems like the operations have to perform in the client thread based on the errors I've gotten when trying to use CompletableFuture or new Thread

I'm not sure if this is the right section but: There are some newer teleports closer to older clue steps that would make a lot of sense to add to the clue plugin. The one that sparked this thought is the Hosidius Vinery medium clue step, to which a very close teleport is fairy ring AKR.
You can also add notes to clue steps but it’s good to improve/suggest improvements to the core plugins.

Run gradle shadowJar to generate a runnable jar in build/libs/*-all.jar. You can run the jar with java -jar -ea jarName.jar. If you run into problems, update build.gradle to the latest plugin template version.

With Shortest Path, is it possible to set like waypoints for a journey? Like if I want to set a path that stops off at all my farming spots, can I do that? Or do I have to set a path, finish it, then set a new one?

Actually, I don't have it figured out. So I can set multiple targets, but when I reach the first target, it seems to clear the other targets, instead of continuing to set a path to them. I'd appreciate someone helping me understand how this works. 🤔

Gave that a try, per dev "Setting multiple targets to have the plugin path to them in sequence is not currently supported. The current multiple targets feature in the plugin is to path to all of them at once and only display the shortest one (e.g. to find the closest bank)." Good to know at least.
is there a plugin that tracks the time it takes to arrive to ur destination tile?
if you use shortest path to count tiles every tile you run is 2 tiles, so just divide the distance by 2 for total ticks?

You can, but you won't really find resources or help getting it setup. Most people would recommend just using IntelliJ
I assumed that - I would be able to set it up myself, just thought I'd ask in general. I am not sure about the telemetry that JetBrains products have and how cooperative they are with disabling telemetry. And as for VSCode - got a buddy of mine who works at Microsoft on a team that deals with telemetry who informed me that disabling telemetry on VSCode truly means Microsoft has no data being collected from me
So that is why I much prefer VSCode :P
But yes it is possible to do plugin dev in VSCode. I believe Skretzo does with his plugins. Maybe some other plugin devs too

its not always easy to tell what phase it's on when you're maging the mage hand for example. you only find out when you start attacking the melee hand and it spawns a portal for example, unless you're mentally keeping track
