i'm sure you're either already doing this, or have come up with a better solution, but would it help if you opened the kel icon you wanted to edit on an image editor, then copy a small portion of the desired skin color from another kel, and then on the image editor, you make a new layer, and start coloring the icon with that copied skin color?
that way, since the amount of skin you're pasting is small, you will have a lot more control, and if you ever go over some of the lines, you would be able to comfortably erase the extra bit of skin, since you're painting on a new layer

basically playing patchwork as you can see in the levels on the right
filling in and THEN adjusting as good as I can. the grey isliterally picking a 'pick color' thing and just using whatever I got. it's black, it's white and some shades of grey in a checkered pattern

if i may, i would recommend against doing this, atleast not with a grand amount of icons where that could apply, as that might lessen the amount of icons where sunny is with kel and not blushing too heavily, it would kind of limit the amount of options one could have when trying to choose icons of specifically that pairing.

it's been a while since i played the game, but i don't recall sunny being this "welcoming" or "appreciative" towards kel, or towards anyone in general. maybe it's not an incorrectly drawn stroke, as the manga has shown sunny to be happier around his friends than he is in the game.
moreso if you consider that in this panel, kel is praising sunny for his good idea of looking around aubrey's trash can, so a smile seems plausible, seeing as how sunny is more expressive here than in the game

it's a shame the manga has taken such a "polarising" direction, i feel like it would have been fine with everyone if the manga met the minimum standards that i'm sure most of the community was looking for, which was "being a worldwide release" and "faithfully attempt to adapt the story to the best of the author's capabilities".
not only did we get a release in 2 out of 195 countries, but the pacing has been lightning fast compared to the game, and not just that, there's an additional problem that people weren't even expecting, and it's that both the artist, and the artstyle of the manga, have some controversy surrounding them.
i think i would have been fine if the manga had been delayed to accommodate potential solutions to these issues, but unfortunately, chapter 1 immediately filtered anybody who could have any sort of trouble with the way the manga was done, and it never went a different direction from there

my first guess, which is coming from an ignorant point of view, is that japanese people are generally more respectful than people from most countries, and i would assume that if anybody has any complaints about omocat's manga project, then they would not vocalize those complaints in any sort of way

a physical release was announced a while ago as a "Volume 1" of the manga, which contains chapter 1 to 5, and a few extra goodies along with it.
volume 1 was released on the 20th of november, and exclusively for japanese audiences. you can acquire it from resellers, but it will of course be translated to japanese instead of english, which might not be ideal for you

chapter 5 adapts the space exboyfriend fight, the encounter with the spirit of mari, the defeat of space exboyfriend, a small arc where aubrey, kel, hero and omori try to help space exboyfriend in writing a loveletter for sweetheart, and at the end of the chapter, it is revealed to the reader that aubrey, kel and hero have completely forgotten about basil, similar to how it happens in the game after they spend enough time on the deep well

i think it's just how sunny may still slightly perceive things with the eyes of a kid. there is countless examples of sunny around RW stuff talking about 'stuff mom said', which isn't something you'd expect from a 16 years old. beer and wine are 'grain juice and fruit juice'. headspace is pg13 and you even see the kiss between sweetheart and spaceboy with a censor bar- i could make a long list of examples (i know i am currently documenting them ooops?)
so he may have been aware his sister had a special someone, but maybe sunny overlapped 'future big bro' and what they had into 'he is family now'.

the afternoon has hours dedicated to a case analysis. you gotta work on 'if this was my case i'd do this'. it was confirmed by the commission members me and the other girl goot a TERRIBLE one.
Day 2 is more tests, plus at the end of the day, after it all, the commission startes legtting peopel talk about their essays
Day 3 is when everyone who didn't pass in day 2 passes
the 'talk' is you sitting in front o a commission and basically having to explain your little thesis (mine wasn't too long, mind you, it's not an university thesis) and then they proceed to interrogate you with technical, legal and eithical questions

well, one way of thinking about it is that you were simply comically unlucky, and got the worst possible case analysis you could have gotten, so there wasn't anything to do about it. in that sense, i would personally be glad that my essay was so good that even after i failed the case study, i was still able to get a passing grade
