Hello all, thank you for your feedback. Although the response to OMORI V2 was abundantly positive, we have identified some key issues with our Behavioral Models (such as an unrelenting need to court them into dating by a lot of members).
Sadly, we have no choice but to suspend our beta test for now and continue iterating in private.
Rest assured the past 24 hours have served as extremely useful testing data, which our R&D department will put to use to perfect our models for the next release of OMORI V2.

Hey all, Iโd like to share some updates to the serverโs moderation that weโve been implementing.
These changes are intended to make the server a safer and fairer place for all, so please take the time to read through em!
Rule Tweaks
We've slightly tweaked our server rules. In practice, not much will be changing, but we wanted to provide more clarity on what is and isn't allowed. Most significantly:
We've split out a new rule from our No NSFW Content rule: Respect each other's boundaries. As an admin team, we're working with the mods to be more strict with this rule, and ensure that everyone remains comfortable in chat. As always, please reach out to @jovial mural if you feel uncomfortable with someone's behavior.

Mod Mail Info
We often receive questions about @jovial mural, and as such, we've made some tweaks and explained how to use @jovial mural in #mod-mail-info-๐จ! This includes a clearer way to report sensitive matters like harassment or staff misconduct, which I want to make sure receive our utmost diligence.
Did you know that you can report messages without ever leaving the channel? Just right-click (PC) or hold (Mobile) a message, select Apps and hit Report Message from the dropdown!
While we're always working on improving mod team coverage, there will be times where no staff are in chat to see a rule violation happen. Please help us out by reporting these messages to us! We deeply appreciate it and never get upset at any report made in good faith, whether valid or not.
Lastly, we're also working on processes for reviewing mod mails to ensure they were handled correctly; please reach out to the admin team if you feel yours wasn't.
Internal Changes
We've made a variety of changes to our internal processes and policies, including:
- Warning appeals are now handled by a staff member that didn't issue the original warning, and denials include a message explaining why your appeal was denied. If you believe your appeal was handled unfairly, you can re-submit another appeal after a cooldown or contact the admin team using @jovial mural's Appeals category.
- We're implementing systems that we hope will improve our coverage in busy channels like vast forest. While we'll always keep trying to increase our coverage, for example by onboarding the latest batch of new moderators, we still depend on you all to report messages to @jovial mural whenever staff are not around in a channel. Please help us out by continuing to do so!
- We've added some words & phrases to the AutoMod block filter. As a reminder, we block certain words & phrases that have NSFW/Discriminatory origins or are prone to leading chat into those types of conversations.
On a personal note...
This community deserves someone at the helm who's able to give it the time and energy that it deserves. Sadly, due to other aspects of my life, I'm not always able to provide this. I'm determined to see these changes through, and leave the server in a better place than I found it. I like to think that we've already made great steps in that direction, but we're a long way from done. I'm working on ensuring Server Operators can take over the staff team from me, at times where I'm focused elsewhere. Until then, I will continue to do my best to make this a better server for all.
Running a server this large and diverse is a continuous learning experience, for both the team and myself. Thank you to everyone who's given us constructive feedback over the past years, big or small; it's what allows us to grow and be better. That's why I'd like to invite you all to continue the conversation in #1019735778114404423: What do you think of these changes? How could we make Mod Mail & reporting messages even easier? Let us know!

Hey everyone,
As I've announced a while ago, I've been working behind the scenes on transitioning away from the server to allow me to put my focus on other efforts. Today, I'm proud to announce that I'll be able to leave the server in very great hands; our server admin @low herald is going to take over as server owner. Many of you probably already know Star, a beloved veteran of the OMORI community; I don't think there's anyone better fit to take things over!
Transferring server ownership for a partnered server can take a bit, because we have to contact Discord's support team to do it. However, the staff team has already been up and running without my direct involvement and I'm going to be focusing on supporting them through bot development and maintenance.
I'm very grateful to everyone here for the past 4 years; especially the modding community that allowed me to explore the game with you all in the early days, and eventually build upon it. The DPO events were still my favorite time spent here; thank you to everyone who participated and has been having fun with us on the MC servers and gamenights since! You know who you are and you are deeply appreciated.

This gamenight we'll be playing some Sven-coop. It's a coop mod of the original half-life and something we haven't played before, it is also free and easy to run! More information regarding joining the server will come closer to the start time.
Also it is October and that means only one thing... ๐ We have to play at least one scary game. Luckily one more gamenight falls during October and that's on the 18th, this means we'll have to play a horror game that night. It's nearly the end of the year and with that comes some special events and our final game night of the year.
First things first, we'll be having two back to back events to round the year off. A Minecraft tournament hosted by @undone saddle on the 13th and a special game night on the 20th. Secondly, there will be a pause until January so we can all enjoy the holidays ahead. Don't worry though I think there's going to be plenty to game during the holidays if you so wish!

With a lot of ModMails recently being related to compromised accounts, we have decided to put this post together. Whilst this may not touch on all present scams going around discord, the main goal is to make sure everyone in OMORI can improve their awareness of scams, and how to avoid losing your account.
__Basic Safety Tips ๐ก๏ธ __
- Use 2FA Whilst this does not stop some scams, it reduces the chance of scammers changing your password.
- Do not accept suspicious DM requests or respond to DMs if you do not know the individual or have not had prior interactions with them. This is basic internet safety.
In the event that a friend or acquaintance is acting unusual, be aware that their account may be compromised. - Do not click suspicious links or attachments that are not from a trusted source, or a trusted friend (depends on the above). These links may contain malware, or lead to servers that can steal your information.
- Do not download suspicious programs or files on discord or outside of discord. Your discord account can also be compromised by malware downloaded from other platforms.
- Always make sure you know who you are talking to. With newer scams comes impersonation, aways remember your friends usernames. We recommend enabling discords developer mode to view account ID's. These ID's are unique to each account.
- Removing 'connected accounts' from your discord account. This will lower the likelihood of steam support scams.
- Change your passwords regularly, and do not re-use passwords! This removes the chance of your passwords being guessed by scammers. If you need to, use trustworthy password managers to help.
__Common Scams ๐ฅ __
This list of scams is naturally none exhaustive and there are plenty of scams going around every day. If you practice basic internet safety and awareness, it will reduce your risk of being a victim to these scams. It is very important to reiterate that any of your friends accounts may become compromised. It is important therefore to have awareness of the types of scams to notice them, in the event your friends lose access to their account.
Crypto/Get money quick scheme:
Apparently some scammers now are posting photos from a scam site, directly to our discord channels. This involves photographs of a get money/crypto quick scheme with links. Please don't click on these photos and report it straight to us.
Mr Beast/Kai Cenat Scam:
This scam involves victims downloading Malware (like Roblox cheats or pirated software) usually outside of the Discord platform. The hacker then gains access to passwords and other information that they can use to take your account. The hacker then uses your account to spread around photos of a Mr Beast/Kai Cenat scam site with links that claim they can get you free money or crypto.
NSFW Server Verification Scam: This scam usually involves an account sending a discord server link (usually an 18+ server) with a short 'join my server' message (usually it is NSFW). Once you click the link to access the server, there will be a link or button to verify your account (usually a Captcha bot). This is usually a token grabber and steals your discord info. The hacker will then use your account to spread the link around.
Art Commission Scam/Download My Game Scam This usually involves a random user asking you if you are interested in art commissions or downloading their game. Their aim is to gain your interest and take your information through links or attachments. For game scams, this is downloading their 'game' (malware). For art scams, this is clicking their link to their portfolio website, or giving them money for a commission that will never arrive (for example).
Steam Report Scam This usually starts off with 'hey are you busy?' and involves the user claiming they falsely reported your steam account, in order to get access to account information. This is never a false report and is always a scam. Usually this involves them sending a photo of your account, and they may also send you suspicious links. They may ask you to trade steam items to 'verify' your account. If you reach out to Steam Support, they can actually notify you if this is a scam or not (if you are not certain).
Discord Report Scam This is much the same as the Steam Report scam but with discord. Scammers will claim to have reported your account with a photo, and will try to get you to click links or attachments to steal your information. Usually it will redirect to a fake discord website, and will notify you to contact a fake Discord Support account, with a link to an email and a discord username. It is important to note this account will not have the Discord Staff badge. They will usually ask you to change your discord email, which will give them full access to your account. If you have 2FA enabled, the scammers will try to extort you out of money.
Steam Gift Card Scam This scam usually involves a hacker/compromised account sending a link to a supposed $50 steam gift card. This link is not real, and will instead steal your information. The hackers will then use your account to send the above scam to other users.
Discord Moderator Scam This scam is complicated and involves a false scam report by a hacker to a discord servers moderation team. Once they successfully get your account banned through using fake screenshots, they will attempt to gain your trust by impersonating discord staff to steal Roblox account information. Usually under the guise of 'Verification' by getting you to disable 2FA authentication.
__What do I do if I get scammed? ๐ __
- If related to a compromised discord account, fill out a Discord Support ticket. To make it as simple as possible, be sure to let support staff know the type of scam you experienced, the original email associated with the account, and the date of the scam. Any additional information would be helpful! https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
- If you are curious whether a steam report is legitimate, or your steam account has been compromised, visit the Steam Support website. https://help.steampowered.com/en/
- If you have downloaded malware, it is recommended to perform a fresh install of Windows (for Windows owners) and perform a factory reset. (Overkill option)
- Change all passwords.
- Report scam websites to 'google safe browsing'.

Hey lads with access to the endgame channels, new stuff regarding those. Nothing too drastic, just want to encourage some differentiation in them as things have been overlapping and getting confusing.
Generally speaking, #abyss๐ should be used primarily for those that have recently finished the game and want to talk about it, while simultaneously serving as a forum for deeper discussion period on the game and its endings without the need to spoiler tag anything. #blackspace-โฌ serves a similar purpose, but is intended to be a more casual channel (memes included) for those that have already finished and internalized the game and are just looking to pal around over it. #deeper-well-๐ remains the same as a channel for hacking/reverse engineering of OMORI.
Hope this clears up the confusing ordeal for the most part.

Hello vf mains, blackspace dwellers, RTNers, modders, splinters, Dhar Mann enthusiasts, artists, writers, shippers, translators, snowglobe heads, gamers, MC waiters and our 3 ot members. Iโve got a massive announcement that every one of you should take the time to read!
We have radically reformed our moderation system! Our warning system has been transformed to be more transparent and consistent for users. Hereโs a quick rundown of whatโs changing:
- You are no longer automatically banned after receiving 2 warnings.
- To counteract this, weโre going to be issuing warnings for most rule violations that occur, even those with lower severities.
- Depending on the severity of a new warning (โ ๏ธ /
/ 
) as well as the severity of past warnings, you could be temporarily timed out from the server. - Weโve neatly compacted the severities of all your past warnings in a handy number we call infractions. The more infractions you accumulate, the longer youโll be timed out for.
- I know better than most how exhausting it can be to talk to staff members. So weโve gone ahead and taken that out of the equation! In most instances, you will no longer be rolebanned after violating the rules. Instead, our moderation bot will DM you an overview of your newly acquired warning. DMs disabled? No problem, there are a range of commands to help you lookup old warnings.
- Do you think a warning was made in error? It can happen! You can appeal any warning using the
/appealcommand. Youโll receive additional instructions in the warning notice DM. - Do you currently have an unexpired warning? Youโre not off the hook, bucko. We've migrated everybody's unexpired warnings from the old system to the shiny new system. Use
/warningsto see your new warnings. - Oh, and finally; warnings no longer expire. Terrified? Donโt be; mistakes can happen and your first few wonโt necessarily lead to a timeout.
Thatโs it in a nutshell! Still confused? Donโt worry, itโs a lot less scary in practice than it sounds. Just continue following the rules and if you mess up, our systems will guide you through the process. Hardly any conscious thought required ๐ง .
As a nice little cherry-on-top to this new moderation system, weโve rewritten the rules! We highly recommend rereading them all, but if youโre a big boy with big boy business to attend to, here are the new rules to watch out for:
- Only type in English: Weโre actually serious this time. Do not converse in other languages at all; anything we canโt moderate will be warned for.
- Do not comment on disciplinary actions: When someone receives a warning, the last thing anybody wants is 3 attention-starved nobodies to point at it and waste valuable chat space on your screen with a shallow attempt at humor or perhaps just any conversation to fill the crippling void in their heartsโฆ Uh- where was I? Oh right, donโt make a fuss out of warnings.
Oh also we've moved #snowglobe-mountain-๐ป to the OMORI category. It's an OMORI discussion channel, after all!

I'm proud that we've all teamed up over the years to create what is potentially the gayest server on the entire platform. Obviously, that means we want to celebrate pride month in style. โจ
I thought it'd be cute to have some emotes/stickers for pride month, but it turns out that's hard to do when theming them around infamously cishet indie game OMORI. Just imagine what would happen if I added SUNNY holding a gay flag. The sunburn community would start threatening my family within the hour!
But, we're in luck! I almost forgot we have this entire OMORI parallel fancanon narrative universe born from two distinct server events and perpetrated by the community that contains a handful of quirky characters over which we have full narrative control! Sweet!
So the amazing @vivid marten went to work and gave us seven DPO pride stickers! Ready to use, now!
I hope that everyone enjoys these stickers, and that everyone continues to feel comfortable and proud in our little community.

Moderation System Updates
We have applied some updates to our moderation system! These updates were focused on being more transparent with you all on how we moderate and what happens to rule violators when. To that end, we've pushed some updates to #rules-info-โฌ too. Let me recap what's changed:
โข We've overhauled #mod-log-๐จ to look better, avoid unnecessary clutter, and give more accurate action reasonings. And look, colors! 
โข As part of our efforts to increase transparency and consistency in our moderation, we've tied most of our bans directly to the already familiar warning system. Now, users are auto-banned for a determined amount of time after reaching 8, 12 and 14 infractions. Once a user's 1st (2 weeks) or 2nd (4 weeks) ban has expired, the user can appeal the ban through the standard appeals form. A user's 3rd ban is different; that one is permanent and cannot be appealed. We've all got to move on at some point!
โข If you happen to get banned at some point, whether it be automatically due to infractions or manually by mods, @tame sparrow will DM you an overview of your ban and our reasoning. This is also where you'll hear about what steps you can take next. Head's up! In some cases, you might not receive this DM; for example due to your privacy settings.
โข Right now, we're also working on overhauling our appeals process to make it easier and more fair on users. More to come soon!
New Mods!
Before I forget, we've got some new mods around! These Mod Observers have just joined the team and are thus still in training. They're observing the team do what the team does best and learning along the way. But don't get it twisted; they're still staff and you've still got to listen to them. Be nice to my pupils! ๐โโ๏ธ
Mod Mail Overhaul
We've overhauled our @jovial mural bot from the ground up! A lot has changed for us on our end, but for members looking to hit us up here's what's new:
Sending a DM @jovial mural will now allow you to select a category for your message. This helps us properly and quickly handle your inquiry, so make sure to select the category that best represents your message! For rule violations, you'll also be able to help us out by selecting the category where you saw the rule violation take place. Thanks in advance!

Did Starsmiley accidently set a 6 hour slow mode that you unfortunately got stuck in and now you want to complain? Or is your issue just not listed in general? This is the option for you.

There seems to be a new scam going around that many have fallen for. It goes along the lines of "exposing creeps" They'll tell you that your name is on a discord server about exposing people, and that you sent terrible things to a user. After receiving the message, the user will block you. Do not panic, do not click the link, and do not join the server. It is all fake! If you receive one of these and the user is within the Omori Discord server, please report it to mod mail.

VC Text Channels Update
Heyo, time for the second announcement of the day! Man, is it announcement day or somethin'? ๐คช
Erm-, anyways. We've deprecated our old clunky text channels for VC in favor of Discord's built-in Text Chat in VC! If you're connected to a VC, you can now select this lil button to pop open the VC's text chat on the side. If you leave the VC, you'll lose access to sending messages in that VC's Text Chat. We figured that's only fair.
