Seeing that the "broken" PLA vehicles are back in the modlist and us being rangers, I'd like to suggest that those assets that are known to be broken or rather I say almost unkillable not make it to the live server.

My reasons would be:

  • We're playing as rangers and I'm guessing we wont have access to any tanks (no cagbrams) to even try to counter stuff like the Chinese MBTs;

  • The map's main characteristic feature being dense foliage means that our main AT capabilities such as the TOW and Javelin would be rather inefficient at countering such vehicles (basically the things we have to maybe kill those are really nerfed due to foliage on this map);

  • In my opinion even from a balancing standpoint, the addition of those vehicles would turn the normal liberation gameplay into: the whole platoon being held by
    1-2 vehicles that cannot be killed even after multiple shots from munitions that in real life would. To further add, CAS is also limited because of foliage (plus we're using factories meaning we wont really have any CAS unless battalion assets) and would make those assets even so more harder to kill (one effective way of killing those assets back on Australia was CAS with PGMs);

  • To note even if tanks don't make it in normal lib gameplay, things such as the ZBD04A and other APC vehicles IRL would be destroyed even by normal AT-4s because their armor is nonexistent but in the live server they're as invincible as the MBTs, which is super unrealistic.

  • All "broken" assets shoot barrel fired ATGMs that literally dont miss and kill an abrams with one shot to the front...

  • The 25mm Bushmaster we have on the LAV and bradley is literally useless against those assets at any angle (I've played the LAV and bradley way too much on Tigeria and Australia, other butchers would also agree with these statements) and the 120mm on the abrams was only effective at maybe disabling the gun and then "metagaming" into disabling the tracks to make it dismount (imo metagaming to kill something shouldnt be the norm)

I get that there's some sort of balance that is wanted here, the map already makes gameplay more difficult or rather different (which is fine imo) but at the end we're all here to have a good time. Thanks for taking the time to read my cope sesh.

can we get extra Gustaf rounds in the 1-4 crate because 1. PLA armour is incredibly op 2. Butcher is gonna struggle in a jungle environment so less support. 3. javelin can be ineffective in the jungle as it is way too dense to use. 4. Wraith Tows are ineffective in jungle

Can we get the CSW 60mm mortar? You can get the single rounds and pack them into a rucksack and would still require a dedicated loader like the 81mm. It’s more maneuverable and much easier to use for the newbies.

Modification to 1-9 and Banshee

I believe that we should make a slight adjustment to the 1-9 and banshee roles in that 1-9 would have access to all variants of the MEV's to become a more centralized support role for the platoon. Commonly, I've seen 1-9 running around in the field acting more as a 4th banshee instead of the "Platoons Medic" as his role is supposed to be. I think this would also give 9 the opportunity to coordinate better with the squad medics and serve more in a command role.

For banshee, Give them the MRZR or something similar. Maybe (if possible) also make it capable of paking or using the defib monitor like the MEV's do. I think this would help in putting banshee in the role of a "Medical QRF" instead of a mobile ambulance. The MEVs are not intended to be a sustained combat unit, and it really limits banshees capabilities since you need to keep them away from the front line. This also would have the added effect of them not being destroyed as much, since they would hang back more with 1-9.

I'd like to request a harpy vic (or multiple) as a battalion asset, the amount of red air imo is an acceptable amount, we just don't have the capabilities at the moment to deal with them. Harpy vics I think could help this

Maybe it’s just because we don’t have assets but the BG spawn rate seems a little brutal currently and seems like we cap one obj and then lose it 10 minutes later to a BG so maybe dialing those down for a bit could help us gain some ground and start getting supply. perhaps just a skill issue tho

been recommended 15 time 3 times by me ,but run fallujah back same system where we have battalion assets and as we progress within the map we recieve more battalion assets everyone had fun with limited radios limited ctabs ,and rotary only made infantry have more fun plus people didnt have to fight about battalion assets and yap in kc command.

Add suppression back? Throughout this map I've been shot at by ZUs / HMGs and PKMs and I've never been suppressed / white thing effect on screen so Im assuming for some reason its off. Also idk if that affects AI getting suppressed but if it does add it back for them aswell. Reason: for us - more imersion / fear of death obv; for AI - so we dont get 1 tapped through foliage if we get base of fire, more engaging gameplay

have second test for higher perms like reaper, demon, stalker etc. But observed by veteran players to make sure the player is confident with whatever's asked of em. I prolly worded this horribly but The idea is that since there's so many tests being graded it doesnt make sen to ask the admins to grade more, but if there were a few trusted players from the community that could sit and watch or join with the new players to see if they know how to do like CAP or CAS, SEAD, how banshee really works, or Phantom etc. It would improve the overall skill of the new permed players and overall experience of the server.

Generation Kill themed campaign. Iraq War / GWOT, early 2000s US Marines w/ mismatched camo, chemical weapon threats (check out the new chemical warfare+ mod), humvees & AAVs and LAVs and vipers and hueys, embrace the suck.

Could take place on Fallujah or even Takistan or other setting-appropriate terrain.

I think we should have a cheaper alternative for Reaper pilots in modern. We lose alot of jets very easily due to new pilots taking the reins in the server, and as much as I hate to say it, we are not very nice to them since even the cheapest jet is at minimum over 1k in supplies and ammo. Even though everyone always says "oh just use the training server" the training server in no way is gonna prepare someone for dodging SAMs and being able to magnum them back to protect the aircraft. I think having a cheaper plane that we can buy that wont be nearly as capable as the higher F-18s would be good so newer pilots can use what they know in the server, and in the inevitability that they get shot down, its not as much of a pain in our supplies as it would be. Something like the A-37 Dragonfly (yes I know there isnt a model in Arma rn) that would fit within modern, but wont cost us all of our supply to use.

I would like to present the suggestion to half the M1128 Stryker MGS price by at least 50% making it 500S 500A 500F (or something like 500F, 400A, 300F, similar to the TOW Stryker's pricing pattern - this will come in to reason later)

This main reason for this is simple. It should not cost the same as the Abrams does when we have access to it due to it being much less capable.
I will use the heaviest Abrams as my example as it costs the same as the lighter armoured one but has a bit more to offer.

In Arma, the M1A2SEPV1 has access to a 120mm Cannon, 2x 50.Cals and 1x 7.62mm Machine Gun all present on a tank with a hull equipped with TUSK II ERA tiles and turret capable of withstanding a decent number of RPGs and a good amount of 20mm and above AP rounds all dependent on where it impacts of course.

In Arma, the MGS is a 105mm cannon with limited ammo when compared to the Abrams with only 1x 7.62mm Machine Gun. The gun system is fitted onto a Stryker hull that obviously hasn't got any armour to compete with the Abrams' while being wheeled, making it super easy to demobilise and destroy - all the PLA has to do is chuck a few grenades from an automatic 40mm to take out some vital wheels and it is a sitting duck for some dude with an RPG that can fly through foliage.

Another benchmark to use for balancing this price is the TOW Stryker that Wraith has access to. For the sake of this argument I will just simplify it's TOW. The TOW Stryker is 350S 250A 150F. The difference between the MGS and TOW Stryker is that the TOW has a more damaging, but slower moving projectile and doesn't have an attached 7.62mm Machine Gun. So the price difference between the two is rather funny, in my opinion a 700+ resource difference for a main armament that travels faster but has less punch is not justified.

Don't get me wrong. I am super grateful this was added... which is also why it pains me to see it cost so much. With the presence of only around 9 possible factories across the map producing supplies the slowest it has been in my time I have been in this server and with how ruthless the PLA is in destroying assets meaning upkeep for essential stuff like transport is higher and that means this asset will likely not see the light of day until the very end as it just does not compete with other assets we have access to like all the F-16 variants.

I really hope you consider this and implement my suggestion.

Start Banning/ Striking Non Perm Slots

  • It has come to light in recent days that there are a few instances of blatant disregard for asset safety and/or unwillingness to learn from mistakes has become an issue on some of our non permed slots that use expensive assets.

  • This has mainly been apparent in the Savage department however the strikes etc could be given to any role as deemed necessary.

  • The Example for Savage is that a number of persons who'll remained unnamed for fairness, refuse to move for counter battery, and inevitably 1-8 is on the receiving end of a panicked savage screaming that he's receiving Counter Battery and the Flat bed dies 9/10, luckily the 777 usually doesn't as its the most expensive out of the two.

  • I want a discussion surrounding how incidents like this should be dealt with, because you currently cant strike a person for such a mishap because there a re no perms associated with it. So it happens again, and again.

  • If there were to be a strike system in place to Ban your use of the slot due to repeated strikes this might encourage these people to seek out a more veteran member to guide them in such a role.

  • For certain roles it is tricky like Ogre if he were to get killed by driving into AO or something it might've been his fault or maybe just unlucky but you could still apply the Stalker premise of you have the final say over your vehicle.

Can we upgrade our animate system to the new one? The system we currently have has really bad animations that are out of date not to mention how much it sways when in high ready, I know that adding an additional mod as an dependency may cause some doubt but with it also comes a breaching system which could come in useful as well. (I know that CQB is barely a factor in lib and it may be deemed pointless but oh well)

An ww2 campaign , op overlord, some winter map to recreate battle of the bulge, and some pacific maps. Why WW2? Just to make some different from Vietnam War and Modern War.
Or we can like make a big campaign with historical events, like barbarossa playing with germany then husky overlord etc, after ww2 events switch to vietnam etc. just to make players feel that we are grinding the years over every campaign, ( after vietnam gulf war, afghan soviet war etc.) that also would be cool. Unlock the gunner seats on the blackhawk/chinook, even if its how it was before where only people with stalker perms can slot it but don't have to be in that role. Very rarely will you ever get a co pilot and there are those certain times where its good to use the minigun. "you shouldnt have to use it unless you are landing a too hot hlz" No.

Increase the amount of AT the opponents have. Right now Butcher does everything and all infantry does is walk into an objective, just to see that butcher did everything. "But the ai composition is changed, now opponents have less AT": ok, change that.

TFAR Scribbles:
This is a client side mod that adds the ability to have notes for your radio channels and saves your custom set radio channels for a saved loadout in the arsenal.

This can help people get setup and back into the field a lot faster because they don't have to mess with their radio every time they load their kit.

This can help for newer players that might not know all the radio channels and what they are for. They can input the channel and a note about the channel then save that loadout in the arsenal and it will be there every time they load that kit so they don't have to mess with their radio every time.

Idk if its just me, but the rate of which EI is getting conctious again after laying like 5 bullets in them is wild. Thier wounds just clot and they wake up 10-30 secs after going uncon. The same enemy can go uncontious like 5 times and wake up eatch time. I dont know if its placebo, it is especially anoying when fighting on range where you might not be able to dubble tap / confirm a kill and more often then not they just wake up again.

My suggestion; Lower thier chance of getting a heart rate, or alternatively reduce the chance of wounds clotting so they go below lost alot of blood over time resulting if they are uncon enough time they bleed out / cannot get up.

There's been a lot of discussion off an on recently about Banshee's viability and the role it plays. As it sits, they're not really "combat rescue" so much as "the other 1-9".

So, to that, I suggest we make a 2-4 man Role 3 or SOST team and turn on Surgery for fractures (... and maybe REBOA, just because that's hawt). One guy to run anesthesia, one surgeon to fix the thing. 2 teams just to sort through the patient volume

Gives players a reason to be MEDEVAC'd, gives advanced medical players something different to do, and puts more emphasis on don't get fucking shot or your might have to go get worked on.

Make a person Per butcher Squad Requirement

  • Butcher 1: Always allowed to slot.

  • Butcher 2: allowed after 25’ or so

  • Butcher 3: after 40+

Why?

Because shits turning into armoured company simulator rn at low pops, 4 armoured vehicle convoys when we only have 3 butchers for starters is dumb.

I see where your coming from on this "Butcher" thing. Your 100% correct that our lib servers are infantry focused. Going back to last campaign, the pop was very low and struggle for OBJs was apparent so we drastically lowered price of all assets which is still in effect for pricing. The goal with this campaign in particular is to have/encourage more mechanized pushes "into" OBJs, we did reduce numbers of AI AT units and heavy armor to encourage this more. It was just a different type of play style we were hoping for but its still up to the players on what they want to strategize. Forcing player pop count for Butcher is not something i want to do, mostly because for the public server i want players to do what they wish and low pop is typically late night NA and EU time period play and i dont want to punish them that way just because numbers dont get high enough where they wouldnt be able to play Butcher if thats what they wish. TBH, your arguement could go hand in hand with Demon/Reaper as well, because ive seen them rule over the AO as well in low pop. So, probably not this campaign but the next I will make sure prices are up again/ AI adjustments probably to be had and we'll get that infantry ground play focus feel again. I hope your still enjoying the experience but i do understand where powerful assets do most of the work, which leaves little infantry gun play.....balancing for those who want/love asset play and then have the infantry focus feel is very difficult but its a huge reason we have the pylon setup the way we do. Back end adjustments are a bitch and a half to balance but you are correct that I dont want to lose the "infantry focus" play of the server.....

Can we go back to the Grenade launcher smoke "ammo" that "explodes smoke" rather than actually firing a smoke greande.

The smokes we had a few months back, maybe last modern, exploded with smoke on imapact and in turn where much much more usefull.
The ones we current have just fire a smoke grenade that bounces to Jupiter and lands nowhere near where you wanted it. GL Smoke currently is uselss for smoke screen, useless for making and just in general useless since it is so damn unpredictable. Maybe its a skrill issue (probably, ngl) but its painfull, epseically for 8s "marking by smoke".

Just a QoL arsenal change.

I orginally thought it was the vanilla smokes that "explode", but "40mm smokes dont bounce mod", might be the one im thinking of. I have no idea. I just know we used to have smokes that were much superior in general

OK......few things.

-#1 im going to assume you just want to help, so ill say this one time.
-#2 we have done all these things you think will fix the server performance, and continue to make adjustments that we dont talk about to see how it works out.
-#3 We have pulled every ounce of performance we can with hardware, this game runs on a very old, outdated engine and on 1-core.
-#4 Yes we can limit custom code, but the custom code we use adds to the experience that noone else offers...even so our code does very little to nothing to effect performance.
-#5 Then only way to truly help performance is to remove mods...period....no debate...its mods....and already we run as few as possible to not bring a huge heavy load on the server, but removing mods leads to a lesser experience.

I dont know if its KAT or settings within KAT but its no longer a 'soldiers game' but a 'medics game'. Once you take an injury, even treated, thereafter the slightest scratch will render you unconscious. SWalk off the back of the steps? Bullet hits rock in front of you? A bird farts? You're once more out for the count. Combine that with our tanky Russians (empty half a mag in their head and they one shot you) and you spend most of your time blackscreened.

Okay, so I talked about it for a bit before, but before it's too late:
Since we are marines, we should be using the FIR AV-8B Harrier II(Night Attack AND Plus variant since we are in 2003 Iraq War and not 1991), and the F/A-18A/A+/C/D Hornet (FIR) mods instead of the F-16.

1: This would shave off almost an entire gigabyte (more like 800-900 MB) in the modpack's file size (while we could also in theory remove the USAF Mod - Fighters because we'd definetely not be using the A-10, I understand why it's necessary to keep it due to it's place in the Reaper exams)

2: We have used the F-16 for way too long, and the Hornet and Harrier, while maybe not as good as the Falcon (I'd argue that this is a good thing for the infantry), has not seen use since Kujari, a good 9 months ago. (Also this way we can take a look to have them both be balanced and viable too)

3: It's also entirely historical for us to use both for the Marines, as both aircraft were extensively used by them during the war as the Marines spearheaded the invasion.

(Not only are we using the F-16, we are also using the F-22 which shouldn't even be deployed to Iraq)

Since the M40A5 is incompatible with the night vision scope, this would give phantom a marksman option at night.

As it stands, phantom will be unable to provide marksman capabilities (one of their main jobs) at night.

The M14 and NV scope are both in the modlist, I'd suggest adding both.

I think that BCE would be a good addition to the client side mods list. This mod greatly improves some things for CTAB and 1-8.

One of the main things that I love about BCE is when placing markers on CTAB they also get placed on your actually map, this helps a lot because in certain era's like early GWOT where only HQ elements get CTAB's it allows you you effectively mark things for all to see even if they don't have access to a CTAB.

BCE also adds tools for JTAC/FAC's to use to more effectively conduct fire missions. mainly this mod allows you to see a live view of aircraft sensors to get an overview picture of an AO or target. This can help limit miss communications on targets or where friendlies are, I know some 1-8's don't want to be super serious AFSOC CAG, so this tool can help them confirm that the airframe is looking at the correct target.

One last thing that this mod adds is the ability to send digital 9-Lines to aircraft, this is a maybe that could be used on lib, I know there are some ehhh things about it, If used correct and well this tool can help 1-8's coordinate multiple airframes at once if there is a lot of traffic on CFF nets or you are trying to coordinate multiple aircraft at once.

Notes for CS: Disable the Human Tracker/thermal hotspot box (I forget the actual name) it puts a box around any thermal signatures which can be performance heavy and in my opinion over powered.

Some additional settings I personally remove is are the 3D markers, I find them to clutter TGP's and can be over powered at times.

Add the ATragMX (ACE_ATragMX) to the arsenal for the spotter role in Phantom. It’s an ACE item already in the modlist.

Fun tool that is not as fast as adjusting from the range card, with the benefit of being more accurate on the first shot.

Should be restricted to the spotter, so that the spotter will actually do calculations for the sniper, which never happens today, as all they’ll do if you’re lucky, is give a distance to target.

If we integrate a carrier into the map, we dont have to have logi pads on the carrier. I reccomend that we have a spesific battalion assets that spawn on the carrier for navel assault. That would be part of the challenge of having a carrier for bluefor. Assaulting the mainland without extra assets. Yes we can ajust the types of battalion assets that can spawn on the carrier or fob to make it reasonable. Also this will mimic one of the struggles of beach assault of marines wich is spreading out a certain amount of supplies on the carrier for the first push (in our case, the first push till fob alpha is built). All of this will give it a fun and enjoyable experience for the people playing from the carrier as it will give the bluefor faction a main goal when starting at carrier, establish a foothold.

Quick suggestion: Can we make 6 roles require SL roles, just like we have Bashee perms require 9 perms because you have to have some prior experice on net. Add an item to the build list (or manually Odin removing said fund) to move the placement of the carrier group (ops base) to allow for another dimension and some new strategic decisions for command.

I.e, carrier spawns first in the South West, we make good ground there for a while, but want to take an airfield in the north. We “pay” 4000 fuel to place the Carrier in the north East.

Island hopping campaign, Marines with amphibious vics start on island and hop from small island to small island in the pasific to reach full naval control by contorling the islands. Around 4-5 OBJ per island. A couple radio towers and a mil or civi point. Have a lot of islands. So one - 2 Island hops per restart. Battalion Marine aphibious vics. New chalenge for 6 and 7 to plan good naval assaults.

Just had a great idea for the medical bozos. For civ points there is a random chance that a civilian is held hostage by the enemy (like a special bunker with the civ instead of GMG). The civilian would be unconscious, injured and strapped to a chair or similar. There would be an intel notification if this is present on a point and medical should be frozen until a player interacts so he won’t die. Upon successful CASEVAC to a fob, the civilian could give intel on a supply cache (it would spawn randomly on the map) guarded by a squad size element.

This feature would map people think twice before randomly lobbing grenades and HE. Not sure how difficult this would be to code but would be really cool.

Can we keep the training server up between campaigns, only take it down and up again when new modlist has been posted.

Map downtime has always been a great time for players to git gud in different assets and simulate stuff with other players. Or for new players to get acquainted with ACEarsenal and some of the players.

We used to have it up all the time before, now it seems to only get up like a day or two before lib launch and everyone’s too busy to sort their kit or check out the latest assets, instead of getting trainings down.

100% anecdotal but it feels like the scheduled player trainings has dropped by “a lot” could it perhaps part be due to the training server being down, so the incentive to do them is less ?

The Company Commander absolutely needs signals function in his element - either a driver/operator for his radio or a driver and a radio operator as he has no linkage to the company as a whole in the new templates. After examining the armor of German tanks in the editor, I found that medium and heavy tanks are nearly impossible to destroy even with a 1,000-pound bomb, unless it directly impacts the tank. This is an unreasonable expectation for even the best Reaper, given the extensive anti-aircraft (AA) defenses the Germans have, even on civilian points.

In modern scenarios, the only ground-based AA options are man-portable systems like Igla/Strela launchers, Igla chairs, and vehicle-mounted AA. However, in World War II scenarios, the number of AA defenses more than doubles. These include the Flak 30, Flak 36, Flak 38, Flakvierling 38, MG 34, Flakpanzer, and the KFZ Flak APC.

Reapers face a 2 choices they can either fly at low altitudes, which is impossible due to the overwhelming number of AA defenses at each point, or fly at high altitudes, which makes it nearly impossible to bomb targets accurately. The lack of bomb sights, combined with wind resistance and drag, makes it extremely challenging to achieve precision bombing from the altitude required to avoid flak fire.

Any “skilled” reaper can and should hit most times, and generally speaking most tanks would require a very near hit to make it catastrophic, still relatively close for a track to break, if it did at all.

As for the AA, speed and altitude, you don’t have to lob bombs blindly from high or fly low as hell

this isnt a major suggestion but id love if we didnt have so many garands and the basic weapon variants are added to the medics like them being able to use the Ithaca shotgun and the springfield before i get any complaints during this time people straight up got delivered guns by post its the reason i also disagree with every kit not having a 32 revolver atleast but i can understand why its done, but i think the versatility of the shotgun for medics would be great as an emergency self defence weapon that would be both effective and makes for a great picture haha

  • Company desperately needs more light anti-aircraft choices. There's a 40mm gun in Faces of War under the Russian side that could work, and the Quad 50 halftrack/static for AA defense.

  • Radio strength is currently too high and too capable (WW2 radios were half-duplex coded, usually locked to certain frequencies and had the range of a wet fart on open ground). Reducing radio capability will make the use of field telephones and the signals section much more viable, but harder for people who like their modern crutches in this historical gamemode.

  • 4 man Signals Section to manage the field telephone nets and actually make sure someone's at the other end when a telephone call is placed and clean the net up when the infantry move on.

Might be a kinda bs suggestion but what do we think about reducing the amount of hours needed for perms but make our exams more strict and complicated to make sure that the person getting the perms knows what he is doing. I have just invited a lot of people into the server (and I’ve heard this from others) but the main turndown of the server is how many hours people need to put it to do something that they are interested in. This recommendation is not for me since I already have all the e perms I want but it is for others. I feel like something in the realm of 75 hours for 100 hour permissions sounds reasonable. It’s just sometimes hard for people to gain that many hours to play something they enjoy. I want to hear your thoughts.

Idk if this has been said before, but PLEASE GIVE US AIRCRAFT PUSHBACK!!! The VLS is unrealistic, overpowered, and (in my opinion) not in line with the server's focus on infantry-based game play. Either -
A) Remove it entirely
B) Increase it's cost significantly

I don't personally think the GPS variant currently in the mod pack would work as a replacement due to how it implements it's GPS guidance. It places an invisible target for the VLS to lock onto, which can make differentiating different targets, especially at longer ranges, difficult as more target points accumulate.

Remove Lorazepam from Banshees arsenal & 1-9s crate.

Why? Its pointless. Its a drug that causes instant unconsciousness on the patient, but without the drug to reverse it, flumazenil (which we do not have access too), the patient will never wake up. The only option for them at that point is to abort out and reslot. Its used in the more advanced surgeries in KAT but with the servers settings none of those apply to us. It only causes issues through people accidentally using it on someone in the field, or using it on purpose to mess around in base.

We've only had access to it since last map for some reason. Previous campaigns in KAT we never had access to it.

Please add the M145 MGO (RHSUSAF) to the Assassin squad's Automatic Rifleman role. Please add the M68 CCO (RHSUSAF) to the Assassin squad's Squad Leader, Team Leader, Medic, Grenadier, and Rifleman roles (anyone with an M4/M4A1 would be ideal).   • Made Goblin Near irrelevant with it's only unique capability now being Defusing Mines

Can Wraith get some love (changes) because it's barely played and when asked around to play it, the responses I usually get are "Wraith is boring" or "I'd rather play Butcher or Demon". Wraith is supposed to be an early and cheap AT, but it's not helped when we are given battalion assets for Butcher and Demon, which has happened for a couple of campaigns now and the result is just making Wraith useless. But I can't really think of anything that would improve the role rn other than making it only need 1 Wraith member to be operational (Squad Leader) and more ammo.

Phantom's main job is to be able to scout and conduct recon, therefore they should be the ones who can get limited night vision. Viper is also tasked with conducting observation and recon.

  1. Allow Phantom to conduct limited recon at night. Keeping it exclusive to TL would prevent it from becoming OP and unbalanced.

  2. For viper, having it locked to the spotter would encourage more people to run as 2 man teams, rather than just going as a sniper. This would also allow very limited sniping to be done at night. It would enable the capability, but still be significantly reduced compared to daytime.

Hear me out i think the RTO's and SL's should be able to have the shortened version of the m16 like viper and air assets have i think that it would give a more comanderish feel for squads and be a bit more realistic in a sense even though most Squad leaders and rtos in vietnam carried regular m16s it would be a bit cooler and differentiate from your regular GI to a command position

Suggestion - Minor Adjustment of M101 105mm ammo

Idea: Addition of 1 WP "magazine"
Reason: With target aquisition requiring more adjustment and finetuning due to the nature of Nam, I think it would be beneficial to add WP to Savage to allow for better impact visual for adjusting fires. Intent would be for the WP to be a single shot so that the observing element can more easily see where it hit, especially in the denser jungle areas. It can also be used to aid air elements in orientating ona ground target in a sea of trees.

A single "magazine" or even just a single round would limit the ability for goobers to bog the server down with big WP missions, but still let it be used as a tool for marking and observation.

For KC Lib, is it possible to provide standard riflemen in line squads with access to the M1 Garand with the M84 telescope? (This weapon and attachment are included with S.O.G. Prairie Fire)
I understand that we have Viper teams with telescopic rifles, but adding a marksman to line squads would not only be historically accurate as both the M1C and M1D saw extensive use in Vietnam in account of U.S. and South Vietnamese forces, but improve the squads ability to manage contact and fortified positions beyond 200m. Ofc its also just fun, but a recurring issue is that troops are very easily pinned by fortifications and are unable to proceed until air support or artillery assets are brought online - and a change such as this may reduce time spent sitting and waiting, allowing squads to get back into normal engagement range for all players to participate in fights.
For clarification, the Viper teams have access to the M40 3-9x optic whereas the M1D's M84 telescope only magnifies 2.2x, so this would not have drastic changes on current balancing in KC lib, nor would it negate any roles - it would only make the experience better for the squad, and provide another option for riflemen.
For clarification, over 13,000 M1C rifles and 21,380 M1D rifles were built before and during the Korean War with a majority of use seen in later conflicts, including Vietnam.

Please unfuck the night cycle... Ik a lot of people beg for nights to be shorter because they can't see, however night is a huge part of the experience in nam. Add some sort of AI mod there are plenty to those from, I’m kinda getting tried and from the sounds of it along with many others of the constant snap aim from the AI and the semi omnipresentness of them being able to turn a complete 180 and dome you in the head with three perfect shots meanwhile my character has Parkinson’s and his hands won’t stop shaking, not to mention if you mess up the first peak somehow the AI will manage to track where you go through the brush and forest. When you peek around a new angle, they’ve already lined up their next shot, and you’re dead before you can even fire a single shot. I’m sure we’ve all had the instance where you're walking through the forest and 5 EI are engaging your squad through the thick brush, and you can’t see a single one of them, meanwhile they have 20/20 vision through the reeds.

I’ve always felt that one of the most important elements missing from many mil-sim games — including Squad — is the idea that FOB spawn points should be limited and treated as a resource.

Right now, it feels a bit unrealistic that soldiers can keep respawning indefinitely at a FOB without any logistical consequence. What if each FOB had a set number of spawns, which could be replenished only through supply runs from the main base — just like with ammo or construction points?

This would force teams to plan more carefully, value every life, and coordinate better with logistics and command. It would create a real sense of tension and responsibility. I genuinely believe this kind of mechanic would take immersion and tactical gameplay to the next level.

Add more armor and infantry there is not enough. Make it have more of an infantry centric feel. Raise the prices of anything that's not infantry related,besides of course stalker, chevy and ground infantry transports ifv type assets. Make heavy armor, arty and air alot more expensive. Bring back the big armored battlegroups with company sized infantry support for them. We want to struggle over points make it hard KC Company has openly said they are no longer gonna be soft.

I would like to get back to the roots of being focused on the core infantry game loop. There have been a lot of instances where we have like 30 people on the server but somehow only have 1 line squad filled because everyone else is in support roles. I also agree with patches and think battle groups need to be bigger but that only works if we have the infantry to deal with it so we would need to figure out a way to promote line squads being filled before everything else. Make troop transport, logi assets and artillery free and increase the cost of CAS and butcher.

Suggestion:

Change back to the old Fortify-Tool options before the last modern campaign. Meaning 500$ budget and build options.
It looks like an oversight that was forgotten to be adjusted back. From yesterdays experience I dont see a justification for fortifying taking so god damn long especially since it is only Gobbo who got the tool in the field. Right know any kind of significant cover would take over three minutes to build and is therefore kinda useless.
In my opinion the old Fortify-Tool was properly balanced and useful especially in a Gobbo+1-4 combo.
Pls bring it back, since this option was ment for a server wide F-Tool which we no longer have.

Suggestion Regarding Goblin:

Change Vest Options, Strictly being tied to the EOD Vest is annoying as shit considering some people (Myslef and I only imagine Others) DO not have the awful Laws of War DLC and would rather not deal with the constant splashscreen.

Also Goblin SL no longer has the good CTAB, I think this may as well be an oversight considering how useful and neccessary that tool is for ALL SL's.

We have an insane amount of Bat. Assets and we obviously can't take care of them properly. So take at least some of them away.
Two repears flying around with less than ten people on the server is just too much. Assets get destroyed with no consequences, Butchers drive into IEDs out of boredom so they die and can go offline. Mistakes have no consequences so we don't learn from them. Right now we could'nt pay for one jet but we have two which are basically unkillable.
Fewer Bat. Assets would also make for a more natural progression and a more infantry focussed gameplay on our infantry focussed server.
So many assets are great for launch but after that take them away. Bat. Assets should be transport and logistical not attack.

Can we shift the platoon structure to where we are faux butcher dismounts as squads?

Intent would be the 3 crew man slots and then however many seats the ACV/LAV/Stryker/Bradley has in the back we use as the squad. This would mean would mean no extra butcher slots allowing for squads to work directly with their corresponding crew. 1-4 is the outlier, no change on comp there since they are not an assault element.

The server isn't infantry focused as it used to be, so this would at least make vehicles cooperate more with infantry as both their escort and means of transportation.

We should also limit the amount of cas elements to just Demon. Again the extra slots would go to the infantry. Limiting the cas elements to just demon means we out put more with the supplies we have coming in and at the same are not wasting extra slots on extra CAS elements during low pop hours. Limiting our CAS to just Demon also evens the odds for OPFOR.

Harpy stingers should just be added to the 1-4 crate. This would allow for consistent AA coverage for any restart without needing someone to reslot for it.

SLs should have the ability to call shade firemissions in. SLs have better SA on a situation and should at least have some type of ability to call support with having to go through the red tape of a 1-8 or 6.

Shadow as a role should just remerge with Phantom and only have the quadcopter drone. #Make phantom recon again

So instead of air cas and cap killing everything, you want four butchers killing everything. Seems pretty lame and also something they can already do. I know butcher gunners you included that will rack up 300-500 kills pretty quickly in that seat its op as heck. A better idea is that we return to infantry centric server by eliminating butcher and reaper. These two roles are super op and you would still have demon and savage for cff. This could also allow for 2nd platoon to return and the ground pounders to do the heavy lifting as intended.

make ITC Air a clienstide/optional mod, although it adds some useful(?) features for F/W pilots, they're really just not that necessary and nobody really uses them, it ruins the TGP for the F/A-18E Super Hornet mod and adds a lot of unnecessary code, it is widely known within the community as a "bloat" mod as the server and client performance you pay to use a RWR and reverse thrust (at most) is just not worth it. It's not a requirement for it to be ran serverside so people could just run it as clientside if it's really a necessity for them.

Make it so people should only play as the callsign they are slotted for and that there are actual slots for. IE - slotting into Reaper 2 copilot, but grabbing your own aircraft and operating as "Reaper 3" would not be permitted.

To add to this. When we did run a gun team last night the 100 round belts means you have to instantly start linking belts. 250 round belts would benifit us when running gun teams and allow them to be more common as currently Assistant gunners are ammo bearers more than A gunners. The 250 round belts also weigh a decent amount meaning that the benifit/consequence on having them equals out at least imo.

Edit: primarily when engaging targets over time linking became a pain as we would have it where we just ran out (if its no longer in the mod pack then its all good, you can make it work its just a little bit harder to do consistently)

250 belts were removed with a mod pack a year or so ago. We no longer use those mods. Addressing Lee's comment You could also link at any point. Linking just fills the remainder of the belt back to 100 and deposits the extras in your bag. 250 round belts are definitely much better assistant gunners currently are able to link and change barrels as well as spot and pull security for the gunner currently as is.

Ches and I had great AAR's last night and our gun teams were effective until we started running out of ammo.

250 belts would have made running the guns a bit more efficient. However, a breakdown in Logi will sink the whole platoon.

Can we get a small feature to deal with OPFOR incursions into the FOB for when we have a smaller base, like for night crew? I ask as a result of having to deal with a full pair of OPFOR squads as I was leaving the FOB tonight, while on my own. Apparently, these squads had been active for at least half an hour at that point hitting the base with White Phosphorous - and I don't know if the AI are actually capable of this, but aircraft strikes were directed at the base, causing us to lose a few structures among other bits of damage.

If we had friendly AI squads that were capable of deploying on OPFOR AI being detected in the area of the FOB for over a certain amount of time, this could be avoided in the future. This is of course a complicated setup, but I imagine having a system that spawns friendly AI with pre-set loadouts based on player faction that hunt enemy AI that are hitting the base, and then having them delete on their target being killed doesn't sound impossible for sqf.

Granted, I handled those squads on my own by running them the fuck over, using a GMG on the last few stragglers, and then gunning down the last man standing on my own, but it cost me a pair of wheels and my time.

Add Habituals JPAD mod. Essentially what this mod adds is 2 new containers, one which can hold vehicles, and one that holds supplies. These crates can be given a grid coordinate prior to taking off, which when dropped. the Crate will then guide itself too.

I believe that this would give some use to chevy outside of rareish paradrop, and the occasional chevy resource crate moves between fobs. As an alternative to stalker and orge resupplies this would allow supplies to be dropped closer to the front lines, however it also means that you're far more at risk from things like red air and sam sites, than the other 2 roles.

This would mean that you need to cooperate both with the ground teams in need of resupply to get their grid coordinates, and also reaper or some other asset capable of dealing with sams or other threats to air assets.

Adding a dedicated flare aircraft would help one, give chevy more of an opportunity to exist in a vietnam environment prior to having multiple airbases. And two allow savage, to be less forced to solely do illum missions during the night.

Please change the Advanced Diagnose setting under addon option -> ACE Medical Treatment to Enabled & Can Diagnose Death/Cardiac Arrest for the server and/or mission (Not [Directly] - Difference is when someone is dead for example when you check response, [Directly] will just say "is dead" while the other is "is not responsive, motionless and cold", which is what we're used too).

Seems like when we went back to vietnam this setting was changed for some reason, perhaps an old version of nam was used before we started using this setting? It just makes everyones life easier instead of having to rely on janky half broken mechanics to dead check.

Thoughts on providing default loadouts for each role? (Or at least for Assassin) I believe this could assist players who are new to Liberation. Most people have no issue building a loadout, but I think it'd be nice.

Is there any real reason stalker weapons are limited to stalker crew only?

It seems silly to have them be perm locked constantly. Even if it could be amended to other permed roles like leadership and SL to avoid unnecessary shooting and or accidents.

I understand why giving them to all members is a bad idea but why just stalker

Please remove phantom, viper, and goblin as separate roles. Phantom and viper serve no real purpose for supporting the platoon besides intercepting KOG

Place 1 eod per squad. This will let's all squads have the ability to see mines and set fortifications.

Cut shade out and have motars placed in the weapons team for direct support for the infantry. Sls should be able to call for motar fire missions without the red tape of 1-8.

No more reaper. We already do fine without them and demon is more then capable to handle CAS. Reaper constantly cause issues with performance and bloats up the mod list for no real gain.

Remove harpy and put aa in 1-6 crate. Again don't have numbers to split for an extra element.

Bring back a full second platoon so we can actually feel like a company again.

Cut banshee. We have more medics than infantry half the time.

Lower the amount of butcher teams to 2.

We only need HQ, infantry, ogre, stalker, butcher, savage and demon. Shadow for modern is fine, it's been the only reliable recon we get. Everything else is bloat

Provides an incentive to do them as it makes actions quicker. But also not required.

Can be made optional with client/server addon settings.

Means medics or whatever have to be more situationally aware as they’re not focussed on the background but on medical. So can easily miss an incoming wave of opfor.

Honestly I see no cons to this.

A way to make infantry fun again. I suggest giving line squad more toys at their disposal so they more people see it as effective as other support roles. We can maintain current composition and make the gameplay more dynamic instead of needing traditional assest for that

SL - each SL get only 1 drone for recce, this allows SL to Rece and plan their assault better rather than just walking in guns a blazing. Making it one drone only without additional ensures they can go ham without getting proper ISR support like from Shadow. Plus with the modern era impleting drones more in the line squad, why dont we adopt it as well

FTL x2 - Roles can maintain for now, maybe in a weapon squad like 4, each FTL can use loitering munitions for added effect

MG x2 - Cant go wrong with MG, maybe give the option for a 5.56 or 7.62 option kile the MK46 and MK48

GL x2 - GL be GL

Rifleman x2 - Give options for DMR for medium to long-ish range engagement

Adding drones and loitering munitons doesnt take away shadows main purpose of ISR, as the squad level drones and meant to go byebye. You still need reaper and demon to strike targfets that is too much to handle with drones

For KC Lib, is it possible to provide standard riflemen in line squads with access to the M1 Garand with the M84 telescope? (This weapon and attachment are included with S.O.G. Prairie Fire)

I understand that we have Viper teams with telescopic rifles, but adding a marksman to line squads would not only be historically accurate as both the M1C and M1D saw extensive use in Vietnam in account of U.S. and South Vietnamese forces, but improve the squads ability to manage contact and fortified positions beyond 200m. Ofc its also just fun, but a recurring issue is that troops are very easily pinned by fortifications and are unable to proceed until air support or artillery assets are brought online - and a change such as this may reduce time spent sitting and waiting, allowing squads to get back into normal engagement range for all players to participate in fights.
For clarification, the Viper teams have access to the M40 3-9x optic whereas the M1D's M84 telescope only magnifies 2.2x, so this would not have drastic changes on current balancing in KC lib, nor would it negate any roles - it would only make the experience better for the squad, and provide another option for riflemen.
For clarification, over 13,000 M1C rifles and 21,380 M1D rifles were built before and during the Korean War with a majority of use seen in later conflicts, including Vietnam.

So, being brought up for the n'th time:

Many, many players have an issue with Russian Armor in modern. This problem is one of those things that is a factor in server retention issues, it is hard to keep new people when they dont feel they can fight fairly against an AI with semi-aimbot AND armor that can tank .50 API rounds to the chest. That is not normal. It is not balanced, it is not fun. We cannot carry enough grenades for every house we come across that has Russian EI in it. And we cannot tank shots to the chest with our own "Level IV Plates" at the rate the Russians can. Which shows a big disparity, as I doubt Russian Ceramics are somehow a century ahead of American Ceramics.

The biggest place of issue for this is in towns, which is what the majority of a Lib Map is. We can't use as much HE, we have to basically pixel peak enemies from doorways, and SAW gunners are the only ones that can reliably put enough rounds on target before needing to change mags/belt, but even then they have to contend with a single instant shot to the head.

We are told "Just aim for the head" but we have dispersion, are not computers, and their helmets catch plenty of rounds that would have otherwise hit in the face or neck because that is just what Arma does.

For the sake of making Modern that much more fun at the individual level, I myself and many others request that the Armor issue finally be addressed with the fix it has needed for several years, fixes of which already exist on the Workshop and are all only a few MB at most, easy to set up and test very quickly, and I know there are more than a handful of people that would gladly work on a "testing team" to help ensure the best possible experience for everyone. Considering what has been said about Camp Devs and real life stuff, perhaps it would be helpful to reach out to the community for Assistance, as the whole thing of "They dont have the time" and "Only they can do it" at the same time is also a clear part of the problem.

As well, AC-130 on Nam next time? I know we have the 119K, but the AC-130 was also present and I would love to have the option, even if it is the most expensive thing to buy for Air.

And another thing - for the OV-10, which iirc is the one that doesn't allow Binos, there is a mod that allows for bino usage. Suggest either getting that or reverse-working it to remove the AI capability at least so that the OV-10 is a useful A-FAC aircraft for when multiple TACPs are online.

Russian body armor used to be alot worse, i think it took 37 bullets to the plate to have an impact. They have dialed that back since. They also removed rounds that would have more of an impact on armor. I believe it is the way it is for balancing reasons. But i wouldn't mind if they were easier to kill if there were alot alot more of them. Also bump up the number of enemy armor pieces that we get to kill. And bring back the big ass battlegroups with 5 or 6 armor pieces and a couple trucks of infantry please we need more targets.

I think the bigger problem is their bullet sponginess. It's fine when you're at least 200m away from them, but especially when clearing buildings sometimes you shoot them ten times in the chest and they just casually turn around and one tap you. I get that it's hard to tweak that so it's good enough for both long and close ranges and I would say most of the time you can quite easily clear a room since the AI decides to look at a wall or something and of course you can just throw a grenade in. But when it happens it's so annoying.

ive been thinking about the next liberation, i feel like it would be a cool idea if we did amphibious liberation. what im thinking is that we start on a amphibious assault ship as the present day marine corp using the Current Issue - USMC mod, and we try to recapture a japanese island held by the chinese navy. i suggest we use as already stated the current issue - usmc mod on the workshop, and we use for the terrain the kerama Islands on the workshop. we should call the liberation, liberation kerama retake.

I completely agree that it looks great, but as someone who's been asking for better uniforms since we got them taken away ~3 years ago when we stopped using USP, they're not going to add it.

The staff accepting a suggestion to use S&S for the current campaign was unironically one of the first times in a long while we've tried out a new mod for uniforms. If we use too high poly of uniforms, and many people join the server, it will melt. Implementing a new uniform mod, like Current Issue, would require them to take a chance to see if the uniforms are actually optimzed (most uniform mods arent optimized for servers that can reach 100 players, and several hundred AI).

is it possible to have various types of forces on one liberation map? e.g. local police within certain civillian settlements and having the military on other points? or perhaps guerrilla fighters too, perhaps we can have 3-way battles? would be quite interesting, no?

Allow Shade to operate alone just like how Savage does. There aint much disadvantage to let them go alone.
