Does it still load even after restart? If so describe what happened in as much detail as possible and send a screenshot with the message in #sonar-feature-requests so the dev’s can fix it. But if restarting your computer doesn’t help you most likely need to maybe reinstall sadly

Is there any known errors within Sonar ChatMix? Moving it all the way to Game does mute chat, aka. make me only hear the game, but moving it all the way to Chat still makes me hear chat and game.
(P.S. The ouputs are set correctly by what I am able to see. Also, reinstalled Sonar - then it worked for 2 days and went back to being like this.)

Hi there - so I went from Arctis 7 to Arctis 7+. One of THE BEST features of the 7s were the pass through audio so if I turned my headset off, audio would route through my speakers. With the 7+ that is not a thing anymore and I find myself manually changing audio devices through Sonar now. My wife really struggles knowing what to do as we share the computer. Is anyone aware of a hot key or some sort of shortcut to be able to do this? I would live to program a batch file or some other way to flip between my speakers and headphones. Thanks!

These sonar settings are a nonsense . Ever since I installed it my settings seem to mess up every time I launch a game. I have to manually change back to Gamedac in menus or I get zero in game sound. It really is a poor poor user experience, badly thought out and cumbersome.

Hi. I am trying to figure out my sonar settings but I'm kind of confused. I have an Arctis Pro wireless and to use chatmix on there you have to set the chat to a different output to game audio, which makes sense. But in Sonar now when I set game and chat to the two sources on the Arctis Pro it says for chatmix you "must use the same audio source." I get that it's because this chatmix is software based and the Arctic Pro one is on the transmitter box but does that mean I can't control the chatmix with the box anymore? Also if I use the Sonar chatmix rather than the built in Arctis Pro one, does that mean I can record using shadowplay and get game audio, my audio and friends' audio all together? Using the Arctis Pro chatmix means shadowplay won't capture the audio of who I am talking to because it only let's you have two audio sources, game audio and your mic input.

ALSO I wanted to test the mic EQ and gate settings, but the mic test button on the Sonar app just does nothing lmao so the only way I would be able to test it would be to open up an audio programs and record myself over and over til the settings are right.

You can use discord to test your mic. For now, and I hope they change this, you need Sonar enabled in order to use chatmix.

The DAC has a 10-band EQ, so theoretically it would allow them to be mutually compatible...however, Sonar EQ locks out the DAC EQ completely at the moment. Hopefully eventually they'll let us adjust Sonar from the DAC, otherwise I don't see why they'd have that limitation. Maybe it's just technical

I don't understand the point in eq-ing (I have tried the presets for music and they are effective but I just don't bother because it is fine default) (I also understand the "footsteps" idea, but I hate the idea of completely screwing over the rest of the sounds to make footsteps clearer)

from my experience sonar spatial audio is cool but situational. I only use it for gaming and even then some games I don't use it, but when I do use it it's very good. very much depends on the game. tactical FPS? absolutely use it. cinematic RPG? probably a good idea, try setting the tuning slider closer to immersion. Scrabble? maybe not.

dolby atmos basically does the same thing sonar does, I'm honestly not sure if using both makes a difference. I used atmos before sonar and it's easier to handle but definitely less opportunity to customize.

You can use chat mix for two separate audio channels and adjust the channels accordingly

If you want it just to automatically adjust the volume I don’t think there is unless you have the audio the same channel as discord and use the discord option

I now use steelseries artics 3, I also use the Steelseries Sonar. but every time I watch Youtube or Twitch I always hear such a crackling sound and then the sound no longer syncs, the sound comes first then the image. There is sidetone enable by default, u can disable it on the Dac or in the engine

And there is also transparency mode that can cause you to hear yourself if u press twice the power button

I use Voice macro to change profile, opens Sonar EQ, moves the mouse and clicks, to the system tray, which means Sonar EQ is only set to Tarkov and when I open it, and when I stop playing shutting down Sonar EQ restores my Audio to default.

Otherwise Sonic Studio 3 is always running and routing audio setting eq and such

Tarkvo does not show up in Sonic Studio 3, which is why I hunted and found Sonar EQ, least in that software I can set the EQ for that game.

And Sonic is a bugged pain, sometime is runs sometime not , have to reinstall the drives. really want to get rid of it , but I need Sonar EQ to do all the things Sonic Studio 3 does now , without trying to rope me in to Steel hardware, time will tell!

Correct. If all the Discord sound improvements are off then your mic is supposed to sound exactly the way you hear it in Sonar Mic Test - actually with the Mic test we only record the output of the “Sonar Microphone” —-> which is then what you input in Discord

Sonar is awful. Turn it off. Set default sound device as Arctis Nova Pro. Turn on Dolby Atmos for headphone spatial sound. Use smiley preset, alter it slightly to taste. Never use sonar again. You're welcome. The fact that they locked chat mix behind that awful excuse of software is sadddd. I knew it was bad from trying to play around with it when I was using my Pro wireless, but I thought maybe they'd updated it since they were pushing it with this new headset. Nah, still garbage. Chat mix has the ability to work fine without it, they force you to use it by blocking the setting on the gamedaq. Awful.

Windows 11 is now on par with Windows 10 performance for gaming etc - so it really makes no difference now

The only thing you'll have to get used to is the new Settings, really. They redesigned the entire thing to be better organized, optimized, and modernized compared to Settings on Win10. Other than that, Win11 is basically Win10 but prettier - if we can say it that way lol

For the best experience you should set the Engine/GameDAC eq to flat and remake the smiley EQ inside of Sonar if that's the sound you like the best

Really enjoying this software however could we have keyboard short cuts for being able to switch configuration using a combo of keys (e.g. left alt and s - music deep bass etc.......) Maybe make them user configurable would be even better. I really want to be able to switch modes without having to open the program and pull down the configuration menus to select what mode I want to listen in. This is mostly like switching from music to movies or music to gaming or visa versa. This would greatly help with functionality in my opinion. I hope you can consider this request in the future. There currently isn't a third audio output in Sonar, only two (Game & Chat). A third output for music is something that's been requested a lot in #sonar-feature-requests so maybe it's something they've always intended to add if they show it in the marketing materials for the software 😳 We'll just have to wait and see

I think nova has only spatial audio and its off by default, you can enable/disable that in the Windows Sound Device Settings.
