Just got 7+ headphones after having 7 for years. Do I really need to use sonar now for chatmix? 7 worked fine without it. Now the 7+ chatmix keeps failing to work and I need to restart GG every couple hours. Huge pain. Chatmix is the biggest selling point for me so its a shame to have to jump through hoops now.

In Sonar you got 2 separate channels for Game and Chat so that each content can have a separate dedicated tuning (you'll never mess up chat audio again to get a better game audio). like you don't wanna apply noise reduction to game but you do want to do that to chat...

Personally I advise have at least spatial audio on with the slider all the way to performance for apex. While it may be a bit disorienting at first I swear to it improving my performance. Having the ability to hear the pinpoint locations of opponents is amazing

Spotify doesn't give you the option to select on which audio device play. It plays by default on your multimedia device (so game one). However you can decide what to use in windows settings

I use my steelseries arctis pro wireless game dac to adjust my audio profile (EQ settings), and most importantly chatmix. Does this work natively with Sonar. For example if I change chatmix levels from game dac, will it adjust sonar chatmix settings. If not do you plan to update wireless dac with sonar firmware so I can make changes to sonar eq and chatmix from the dac

found the answer to the chatmix part. Since the chat and game audio can be directed to different channels so can just set them to game and chat channels in dac. Would be nice to switch out EQ profiles from dac rather than sonar app. Other than that software works great really like it good job.

Arctis game dac does not work natively with Sonar. To use Sonar you need to set to FLAT your EQ nd disable DTS on the gamedac then you need to use Sonar only

In one word Sonar is much much more powerful in terms of audio tuning and it can really power up a lot your Arctis (and in general any headset/speaker)

with Sonar you can enjoy a parametric EQ which is much more performant. This is also valid if you don't want to bother geeking out with EQ as you can use presets validated by pro players and game developers and take advantage of a refined tuning

With Sonar you have Spatial Audio and it is tunable based on your content (something you'll hardly find in any other sw)

with Sonar you can enjoy noise reduction/noise gate and presets on chat and on your own mic those are not available

with Sonar you also can enjoy effects like smart voice, smart volume

and more is coming in then next months

They changed the look with the last update so that's why it has a different layout than most of the EQ guides that were made when the software first came out. All the sliders and toggles are still there, just in different spots

Hey guys, i recently updated SGG ever since then it is not picking up my microphone anymore.

I do see in the sound settings that the actual microphone picks up audio, just doesn't process it further in SGG.

What i found out to make it somewhat temporarily work is through restarting SGG but then it causes the gui to hang so now and then and sometimes cut out the microphone sound.

Next to that, ever since i enabled Sonar sometimes the audio stutters and it feels like it is causing DPC to go mayham, i could be wrong as i have not yet tested anything through latencymon.

Uninstallation and driver wiping through devices was necessary to resolve my problem.

Sonar does not like audio interface drivers that comes with their own samplerate and buffersize.

Now everything works fine, but i still have the problem where sound starts to crack for a second and skip a few milliseconds.

Man this software is life changing. I used to use a streamdeck bind that toggled two different audio sources for audio balacing.

So how much of a difference is there between (my less than a year old) Arctis Pro Wireless and the new Arctis Nova Pro Wireless.? $350 is a lot of money. I put this in the Sonar group on purpose since most of the featers seem to be Sonar specific.

According to livestream, You can definetly adjust it better and slide the headphones. Supposedly, Earmuffs are comfortable and Nova is not relying on pressuring towards the head to mute Your sourroundings and instead the build does that. As for the Audio, prolly a bit better as it uses new hardware. Can't say it from my own experience, as I won't get it in near future as I'm dirt poor now ;). But from the looks of it, it is and upgrade in few aspects

Only way I've found is to set windows to use "Headset" (the regular one) and the game to use "Sonar Gaming"

However that leaves a warning in the Sonar interface and doesn't allow to use Profile B for another game.

Everyone has different preferences so you should probably try both of them and tweak them to your liking but I think generally the preset made by Ubisoft will be the better one since it's made by the actual audio engineers that designed the sounds for the game

Hello, i just tried out Sonar, im quite impressed of how the layout is, and how clean and easy it is to use. I came from voicemeeter which ive used a midi controller with, to control the audio without tabbing out of the game, or play sound effects etc. And have multiple sound source routes. But in sonar i see there's only 3 sources being added. Is it possible at some point that the sonar implementation in GG app, adds support for usb midi controllers? And more Audio Routing sources ? I'm having a huge (1-2s) delay when I use the sonar software on my laptop (msi gs65 i7 16gb gtx1070) with bluetooth headset, does anyone has the same issue?

Nah sonar is only for windows sadly :( everything changed under sonar sticks to that computer and in fact, sonar is just a virtual audio device that runs through windows sadly

What I don't understand is, if I switch the device in windows to the Sonar Headset it doesn't change the sound at all compared to my normal default device. Only the On and Off from the Equalizer seems to change anything. What is the windows sonar device for?

Honestly arguable. For both sides I feel like if you have a good enough headset (arctis pro + GameDAC let’s say), and good enough hardware, you should be able to run their special ai. BUT I have the feeling the special ai uses actual nova headset hardware that even the arctis pro’s just don’t have and if that’s the case sadly it just wouldn’t be possible on anything other than the novas

The sonar device needs to be active and set as the default device for it to be selected and work. And from there all it really does is allow very nice audio control like a mixer, separate chat and game volumes, change microphone volume even. You can also add an eq as you’ve noticed to your game, chat, and microphone along with adding noise suppression and compression stuff to certain categories like suppression and “smart voice” ahem compression on microphone and stuff. They all work, some are just extremely subtle

Anyone recommend best settings and config for arctis pro with Dac. After playing around all day I actually prefer not using sonar and sticking with Dolby atmos as the audio doesn’t sound as muffled. Mainly play warzone

On the new Nova Pro wireless how do i seperate the game and chat audio. On my Artics pro i had the option in soner. Now it just says "headphones" under mixer

This is because it is meant to fully integrate with sonar... what you do is you select headphones as the playback device for both in the mixer menu, so you can use chatmix and all that jazz. you shouldn't be able to select the sonar virtual devices within the mixer
