Hello!

I just installed SteelSeries Sonar and I’m using the mix to configure my microphone.
I managed to set up the equalizer and all the effects nicely, so my mic sounds great inside Sonar.

My question: is it possible to make all these settings (EQ, compression, etc.) actually apply in Discord, or is it limited to just hearing them in the app and impossible to use in other software?

The arc raiders pre-set sonar eq - not worth it. You're better off tinkering and making your own - far far superior than the pre-set.

Hey does anyone have the arc raiders preset dialed in for the nova pro wireless? Hello, I switched from the wired HS80 to the wireless Nova 5. I have no issues with the sound. However, my friends say the microphone is terrible. I've tried every setting I could find here, but I haven't gotten any positive results. I know that a wired headset will perform better than a wireless one. Hello, did anyone notice after the 0.18 update on Escape from Tarkov the sound in game is all mixed up? for example sound from right side, is heard like mono (equal on both right, left, front and back).
I am having real issues playing Tarkov as it stands today, I tried playing with Sonar but nothing came from it, even going back to default 2.0 setting has not effect on this issue.

Just got a AEROX 9 mouse today and setting up some macros. I am coming from a Logitech using G-HUB. One option I am not seeing that I am curiuos is available would be to have a macro that holds a key down and then spams others but never releases the one down. Say hold 6 down then spam 12345. So far I have it Press 6 down do the 12345 then it releases 6 and starts over.

SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro (PS5) audio issue

I’m using the Arctis Nova Pro with PS5. The GameDAC connects normally and my mic works — others can hear me.
But I get no game sound and no voice chat.
I have to unplug the GameDAC from power several times until audio starts working.

"Hey everyone, I’m looking for some help optimizing my Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Counter-Strike 2.

Current Setup:

Connection: Using the GameDAC Gen 2 (2.4GHz Wireless). Bluetooth is OFF; I am strictly using the wireless base for gaming.

Software: SteelSeries GG / Sonar is installed.

The Issues:

Directional Audio Confusion: The spatial positioning in CS2 feels completely off. For example, if enemies are shooting at 'Short', it sounds like they are far 'Long' or at the back of 'A Site'. I can't accurately distinguish depth or precise directions, which is making competitive play impossible.

Mic Sidetone/Keyboard Noise: I can hear my own mechanical keyboard clicks inside the earcups while playing, which is very distracting.

What I need:

Does anyone have a specific Sonar EQ preset or GameDAC EQ profile that works best for CS2's new audio engine?

Should I be using 'Spatial Audio' in Sonar with 'Performance' mode, or should I disable it and rely on CS2’s in-game audio processing?

What are your recommended in-game CS2 audio settings (L/R Isolation, EQ Profile) to pair with this headset?

Not natively unfortunately, you can use keyboard shortcuts or you can use AutoHotKey to highjack the scroll wheel to trigger keyboard shortcuts

My first one is, since I bought this headset everyone can hear every breath I make. I’ve adjusted my mic volume on both the app and console, and that doesn’t work. I also flexed my mic upward to my temple when I wear the headset, and that didn’t help.

The other, is I tried to download the new firmware through my laptop. Followed the steps of downloading GG, and connected my headset via USB 2.0 and it doesn’t recognize my headset at all. I’ve turned it on and off, closed and opened GG and still nothing?

I do have my volume up pretty much -15 to be able to hear basic footsteps direction though, my ears hate it but if I have it any lower the direction of the audio just doesn't seem to come through

The preset works well for tarkov but I guess they use slightly different frequencies as I don't need to have tarkov stupidly loud

Hi there, i have interesting problem about my headphones.
My arctnic nova 7 lost its voice after auto shutting down.

If its shut itself after being inactive, when i turned on i cannot hear anything. If i boost voice, %100 db etc, can barely heard something. Only solition is hard reset button like under of the ear pillow. (That tiny hole) Is someone having same issue about it?

Would anyone happen to have some clear audio configs for the Alias base model? I’d purchased it quite some time back not knowing about the pro. I’m pretty sure I blew a fuse in my head trying a thousand different things to maximize vocal clarity and no matter what I do, they seems to be faintly static white noise or my vocal risk getting cut some. Why do my arctic nova pro wireless sound so mid? I play on xbox, overwatch, and my sonos speakers sound waaaaay better than this headphone. I understand that a 1000 dollar soundbar is not comparable to a headphone, but I expected more from this price range. I’ve fiddled around with DAC, different presets from other people and bought the dolby atmos license, but I can’t get a nice profile. Nothing sounds slightly warm, everything sounds kinda flat and muddy or the treble is insane and off-putting. In my memories, my old semi-cheap turtle beach sounded way warmer and deeper than this headphone and the turtle beach didn’t require any EQ.

Can anyone help me out and point out what I’m doing wrong? I really wanna like these headphones, but I am getting the idea that without Sonar, these kinda suck…

Hello, I have an issue when streaming on Discord. There is an audio echo, and both my voice and the voices of others in the chat keep repeating in the stream. I am using a SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headset with Sonar software. What is the solution?

Due to a bug in Discord's screen capture, Discord may capture Sonar outputs as part of the desktop audio, which can lead to echoing when screen sharing.

This issue can be fixed by setting Discord's capture to only capture a specific app. Application capture will only play audio from the selected app, and will not erroneously capture Sonar audio.

Alternatively, if you'd still want to capture the full desktop, you can use Sonar's streamer mode to manually choose what audio to send over your mic, and mute the stream sharing audio. More information on how to do this is in the links below.

If you're still getting an echo, or if your echo is happening even without screensharing, please contact SteelSeries Support at the link below.

I was using peaceAPO with this preset before, but it meant I couldn't fully download the steelseries drivers as I couldn't use a different apo due to steelseries' software locking it out if you had the eq stuff installed

Just got the Arctis 7+ today so first time messing with Sonar.. I have regular engine EQ flat and using Sonar 100%. Here's my settings for music, looking for clarity of high's, balanced mids, and heavy on the bass.. Haven't tried it out as a general EQ for gaming yet (I usually have same profile for everything), but for Spotify music, seems to not distort on full volume and still manage to vibrate my ears.. I think there's room for tweakage, but pretty good so far 🙂

EDIT: Just tried gaming, seems to work for Destiny 2 and the early access game, Grounded

Normally I'm listening to rock and metal music, I HIGHLY recommend listening to Hunter's Moon by Ghost with these, or generally Ghost band. Works well with different layers of instruments, or heavily layered guitars from heavier metal bands retaining clarity and not melting everything down to one sound 😉 Tested it with Spotify app without other music presets/equalizers. I'll post screen in follow up message

Sonar is so bad for gaming. Messed positioning in games like pubg, rust. I would stay on my old arctis 5 with dts on board. But i had trouble to buy spare cable. SS do not sell it in my country.

If using sonar, make sure your EQ settings in the engine are set to flat or they double up with Sonar and sound bad

My config I did back in January.... Works great for Destiny 2.. I notice there's a new Bungie D2 profile supposedly created by audio engineers or whatever specifically for Destiny 2.. But like, it sounds super flat to me and has zero bass in explosions ect.. Use the less treble version, and drop the gain on Band 8 and 10 in addition to the one I did awhile back.. It comes out pretty perfect in my ears for Destiny 2 😎

DESTINY 2, PVE CONFIG - ARCTIS 7+:
This config is a PvE only config, I don't play PvP so I can't tell you how it'll do in crucible, but I did make sure for NPC's I could hear their footsteps. I also catered to the music some, to retain the epicness of the orchestra, I've also enhanced some of the bass tones so an explosion feels like an explosion. The high range was lowered a bit as auto rifles seemed to be a little on the piercing side, adjust the treble boost if you'd like this to be a bit more pronounced. Since the background music is a bit enhanced, it may come across a tad loud for some. Lowering this in-game should fix this while keeping the explosions and other sounds in tact. This was after several hours of testing in the PvE environment, using various weapons, various subclasses, & roaming different areas of the map. I also tested this at full volume so I could hear everything as clear as possible. Tweak to your own satisfaction.. 🙂

I don't play PVP either, but I have passed the config. on to some of my Clan who do that have the same Headset that I do and they are going to give it a try. Will let you know what the response is when I hear from them. The sound stage is so much more directional and the frequencies from high to low are much more distinct now in PVE without sacrificing the overlay, I can't see how it would not make a difference. Thanks again!
