I just got a pair of the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless

I'm having trouble with the active noise cancellation and transparency modes. It sounds to me like transparency mode is always on, despite my attempting to turn transparency off. I say that it feels like this because it sounds like the headphones are playing sounds around me through the speakers louder than they would otherwise be with the headphones off. Does anyone else have this problem?

Have you tried uninstalling these two audio drivers, unplugging your nova's, and plugging them back in? (windows redownloads the drivers don't worry, that's what I was testing ) some users said "reinstalling realtek's drivers for the arctis 1's work" so I'll presume reinstalling drivers for the nova's will too

Oh and ofc searching up device manager and going into "audio inputs and outputs" is how to do that you may also need to restart steelseries by quitting out of it and relaunching it

First, Game is supposed to be assigned to "GameDAC Game" and Chat is supposed to be assigned to "GameDAC Chat".
Second, you could also possibly need to unplug and plug back in your GameDAC

ive had this headset for a couple years and its been amazing. ever since Sonar came out its been a crap fest. Originally i had a problem where the tarkov audio sounded like everything was inside of me. absolutely zero directional audio and when looking for solutions found out about GG and sonar. figured I would give it a go. i did eventually get it working but it got messed up again

okay, i have the Arctis 7 headset, and just got a new PC, so im running into 2 issues. 1 is where i can hear for say spotify and also hear my buddies in discord, and then the chatmix won't work on my headset. Problem 2 is where as soon as a join discord all audio cuts out. Ideally i'd like to try and get it so that Chatmix Dial works properly and also hear both discord and game/spotify

I would suggest disabling any vpn software and antivirus you run when downloading steelseries gg, I’ve never seen such an issue to even require the antivirus to be disabled but maybe it’s a contribution 👀

That’s the GameDAC’s built in game and chat separation. Maybe go into your dac and go into input (or output) and enabling hi res so it disables separated game and chat. Then set up sonar as normal

Go into steelseries gg, or install it if you haven’t already, and enable sonar, then set up all the audio devices in the main sonar screen so it outputs to the right things, and make sure those sonar audio devices are enabled as it looks like they are disabled at the moment but that may be because you don’t have sonar enabled/downloaded (if gg isn’t installed)

Hmmmmm ok so oddly enough. for me, on my old GameDAC (Gen 1), mixing works, sonar sorts things out correctly, all that stuff. Have you tried going into your DAC's settings -> about and scroll to the right and factory resetting? you might wanna also check for firmware updates in gg's engine

The weird thing he’s having is even in control panel -> hardware and sound -> sound it says sonar’s outputs are putting out sound, and in his mixer tab it’s all assigned right. (GameDAC game in game and GameDAC Chat in chat), for me in this config it works perfectly but for him there’s no game sound output to his headphones

It’s supposed to allow better audio. In actual sample rate and bit rate, but also allow for crisper sound. It also has a built in mixer (gen1 only) and stuff. It’s pretty neat but it has its issues as this man is sadly experiencing.

3- reboot
4- install gg engine
5- reboot
6- open the software and sign in
7- plug the device
8- for me i was having some downloads to do and it appears on that section i mark on the ss do it
9- enable sonar and if gamedac game not comes unplug and plug device but before unplug-plug exit the software completely
10- after u will have gamedac on sonar set it up
11- after u set it up it will start to work after u open discord, chat, sound test on discord etc but it will work after some minutes; not right away

this was how i get it work completely. i hope it works also on u. if yes then maybe moderators will pin this post or post it with better english then me.```

No, to my understanding the headsets do not save things as they do not have on bored memory.

Dolbly Atmos allows you to EQ your audio. Not to sure about mic adjustments though. A lot of Xbox players swear by it but I haven't tried.

even EQ settings are changable through the DAC, and the connection from dac to computer is the same as any headset, your pc thinks the DAC is the headset itself, even though its transmitting wirelessly to the actual headset

Hey guys. I can't get my arctis pro wireless re- set up on my PC. Every time I restart my computer, all my sound settings go out the door, discord doesnt have the ability to output to the "chat" channel, and I'm not sure how I got it to work again last time. The computer shows both the chat and game output, but discord only shows the game audio out, wiht no selection for the chat. When I test through windows, the Chat shows that it's pinging, but I can't hear anything through the headphones. My game/ chat mix is in the middle.

If anyone has any ideas, it would be really appreciated!

I don't think you can use sonar on a console

if its connected to a pc then probably

sonar just adds another audio output device that you can select

Sonar is PC only. The EQ settings don't save directly to the headset like they would if you made changes in Engine

Unfortunately not. If you're playing on Xbox you're limited to the headset settings inside the normal Engine

it has something to do with the nahimic app

not sure why the problem ever starts, but going to the nahimic app and testing sound seems to fix it

I have the Arctis Nova Pro X wireless, and unable to get them to work in usb mode with my PC, I'm completely unsure what I'm doing wrong, I've tried multiple usb ports, and other devices in those ports to ensure the ports work(they do) however whenever I try to put the dac in USB mode it switches back to xbox, and if I have my xbox off the DAC shows nothing

Yes? I mean, i just turn on bluetooth, but the headset won't turn up on the 'devices found' upon scanning for devices to connect.. I was able to do it with my mobile

I am not sure which is having issues.. Coz i am able to connect my ipad with my jaybird earphones via bluetooth.. And my laptop with wireless jabra headset.. For some reason, they couldn't find my nova pro wireless... But my mobile phone could

aight so, basically; the headset automatically goes to pairing mode if it doesnt have a paired bluetooth device already, so thats probably why it connected to your phone.
Secondly, you dont 'just turn on bluetooth'

you have to specifically go into pairing mode to pair it to a new device (it can then remember both of those so you can switch between them easily)

To pair, you first have bluetooth OFF, you then hold down the bluetooth button for a while - until the blue light starts flashing
So you dont just let go after it turns on, you keep holding

then your issue should be fixed

Sorry, just to clarify, i currently don't have anything paired to my laptop and ipad (except pencil).. And yes, when i said, i turn on bluetooth, that is pressing it on until the blue light flashes...

yeah but... i mean it flashes when its on too... it has to flash very rapidly when its in pairing mode, its very different
Also it doesnt matter what you have paired to your laptop. Your issue (im assuming) is that you havent put the headset itself into pairing mode.

Like if you just wore the headset, anyone would be able to pair themselves to your headset, so of course, to counter this: they made pairing mode a thing you have to get into, before any new device can pair to the headset. Otherwise anyone could just pair themselves to your headphones without you being able to control it.

anyhow, try holding down the bluetooth button while your laptop/phone searches for the headset, and only let go once you see it pop up under found devices

Anyone know why the Arctis 9's audio directions is god awful?
I've been using it for a while and using the main audio just ruins game audio, I cant hear dialog, footsteps, abilities, most stuff basically important to me while playing Valorant for example.
Sometimes I cant hear front/back and other way around (left/right)
But as soon as I use Sonar everything is fixed, I dont want Steelseries to shove Sonar into my throat, I wanna use the main audio. Any help would be nice
