You shouldn't. To make sure you should go into settings -> cloud sync -> and click "sync now". that only syncs engine though so sonar stuff will be lost as well as previous moments clips will most likely not be there anymore

i looked it up online and someone said to use the openhardware monitor file and copy it into the programdata folder for steelseries but there was some stuff missing that shouldve been in folders within that folder

Hey go into control panel -> Ease of Access -> Ease of Access Center then click on (after scrolling down) "Make the Keyboard easier to use". then make sure sticky keys and everything else on that page is disabled. GG won't adjust the ChatMix anymore. Using the wheel on my Arctis 7+ does nothing. Seems to be a software issue since when I reset Sonar to another decide for both Chat and Gaming outputs, then switch them back to the Arctis 7+, the mix is in the middle, and I soon as I touch the wheel on the headset, even just a tiny bit, the mix in Sonar goes straight to 100% Chat and stay stuck there.
Anybody ever had this problem?

This is an issue with all arctis headsets that they finally fixed with the nova line of headphones but all current and possibly future arctis line of headphone can and will have this issue no matter what sadly

It’s just normal stereo by default but really it’s whatever you chose in windows itself as there aren’t any components to even determine what it outputs. Audio is handled by windows itself so it’s up to you to enable those things

Question. I was playing a game, and decided to use the macros built into the steel series engine for my apex 3.
After shutting off the macros, a black square appeared on the left hand side in the middle of my screen. It registered all left mouse clicks.

After uninstalling and re-installing the engine, along with a few computer restarts, this square wont go away when I boot up a game. Any ideas on how to fix this?

The GG engine really screwed up using my Arctis 5. Caused errors on Win 7 PC. and now that i have a Win 11 PC it didnt install correctly on it either. No more certified headset option and chatmix doesnt work like it used to.

The open hardware monitor software isn't made by SteelSeries, it's an open source program designed by independent developers. SteelSeries just ships it with their software (of course it would be nice t get the latest version when downloading GG) but like I said, the people that actually make OHM haven't updated it in 2 years so it doesn't fully support Intel 12th gen or Radeon RX6000 GPUs

Probably not. If you're running a system with an Intel 11th gen or older CPU, Ryzen 5000 or older CPU, RTX 3000 series or older GPU, or RX 5000 or older GPU it'll work with the workaround by replacing the .dll file from the newest version of OHM into the hardware monitor folder in your GG install

Update: Inturned on show hidden devices and it shows the apex 7, but it gives it a code 45 for “not connected to the computer”
I believe it’s the apex 7’s own problem, but I realized I have a MacBook I use sometimes I could test it on. I’m going to get my usb c port and test it out. Thanks!!

I mean theoretically someone could get the source code for OHM and update it themselves since the original coders seem to have abandoned the project. I have a feeling the main reason SteelSeries shipped it with their software is because it was open source and they didn't have to pay the developers for a license or any kind of partnership deal for a single version of OHM so they wouldn't have to push out updates for it on their end.

I highly doubt the SteelSeries software team will ever update OHM themselves even if the original devs pushed out an update for the latest hardware

Uhhhh- actually afaik you shouldn't even be able to adjust windows volume- I'd leave it at 100 and adjust it through in game, in discord, in sonar itself, etc

I have a steelseries apex pro keyboard - i tend to use the volume control knob on it quite a bit. this controls the default windows volume mixer, which in turn affects the chat mixer volume level

it's fine with anything routed to game, but obviously does nothing for anything through chat, meaning that if i want to adjust chat volume, i ahve to directly open up sonar and adjust it there

Nah sadly there isn’t debounce time adjustment for steelseries mice. There used to be a modified firmware you could use with them that was discouraged by steelseries (I mean obviously lol), but it doesn’t work on newer mice and I think steelseries patched it anyways (by this btw, yes I literally mean a modified software update, kinda interesting but don’t go that route)

boy do I have a message for you . Go into the engine and edit your nova’s settings, that’s where you’ll find the hardware adjustments like sidetone, hardware eq, mic volume, gain, and even an advanced “output” setting for streamers that does something that I can’t comprehend, but it’s there .

And to answer your specific question, what your looking for is “mic sidetone”, also you can adjust all these settings from your dac

No sadly because the Arctis 3’s use a 3.1 mm headphone jack and that connector type doesn’t typically transfer actual data. You can look in the engine and see if your headphones are there but the likely hood is really low

so in control panel -> hardware and sound -> sound. When right clicking the audio output that you wish to use, and making sure it is the default communication device and the default device, then go into the "recording" tab and do the same for that tab as well, and tell me if it still persists. even if you think you did this in the settings app still check. and if you have a "chat" and "game" sound device make the "chat" device the default communication device and make the "game" one the default device

If it does work on that and do everything just fine, I'd recommend to uninstall the problematic driver and windows will automatically reinstall that driver.

The way it’s supposed to work (and surprisingly does work for me), Is when your in something like a discord call, and your discord input and output is set to default (actually quite important 👀), it’ll turn discord down if you move the slider to the game side and turn your game down if you move it to the chat side

Yea that's because you gotta go to this screen (screenshot 1), then add an audio output capture (screenshot 2), then it'll automatically ask what output you want to assign to that, make one game and then repeat the process to make ANOTHER chat output detection

i generally would not recommend adding audio outputs as a source since it can complicate matters to have to add audio to every source (or worse cause audio issues when switching sources). i'd make sure that OBS and Sonar are up to date to make sure and maybe even restart your PC to get Sonar hooked in correctly

I've been having this for a while now, but randomly my audio would just crackle or pop for a sec, which is extremely annoying, and somewhat intrusive, has anyone had this and/or knows how to fix my wireless nova pro wireless so that it doesnt just randomly crackle? (bluetooth is off so nothing should be interfering with the connection)

man it kinda sucks, does anyone using arctis nova pro wireless have this? like its a very subtle pop/crackle and just seems to happen randomly when i listen to music, it happens at random times despite replaying the same part of the song, and it doesnt seem to have much to do with highs or lows, it just randomly happens it seems...

even with bluetooth off, the headset still uses 2.4ghz wireless to communicate with the base station, so you can still get interference from things like wireless routers or certain other wireless devices

They all work with ps4/5, pc, switch (docked), and MacBooks. The Xbox versions though, replace the second usb with an Xbox only port that allows the use of Xbox with the dac/transmitter. This port, from what I’m told, works with only Xbox but ofc there’s always USB port assignment 1 or 2 which is still going to be compatible with all the aforementioned platforms except Xbox. The non Xbox versions though do not come with this port, therefore you’ll need to use an aux to aux cable going from your controller to your dac/transmitter’s line in to get audio, and you will lose microphone functionality unless using the headphones directly wired to a controller

Hello, so i've got an Aerox 3 Wireless and when my mouse fell facing upside down the DPI button got stuck, with the back side being normal and the front of it being below then where it should be. Now I can't press it or move it, its stuck really hard. I don't really see how could I open this mouse, so any help how to plug it off?

Fun fact that I didn’t know that I’m putting here for anyone to see. Technically the default orientation for the earcups on the nova pro’s is notch on top, not on bottom looking at the shape it mostly doesn’t even matter, but still good to know. (unless it’s randomly put on in the factory)

Hi, I just got my Nova Pro Wireless and everything works fine when using Sonar but if I disable it and use the base equalizer it starts to have a "squeak" sound in the background, very low volume but if there is no sound playing you can hear it constantly. It's like birds chirping or radio interferences. Again, you can only hear it when there is no sound playing and its really quiet in the room and using another EQ setting on the base that its not the default flat setting. Anyone else has this? Any way to fix it?

it's mabe electromagnetic interference. i hade that problem with my headset (arctis pro wireless) and i fix most of it with a 3.5mm Noise Isolator cable. so usb cable for data and 3.5mm cable for sound. it worked for me and it might work for you

The Nova Pro Wireless (and wired) Xbox edition will work with both pc AND Xbox as they have 2 ports (even the non xbox version has 2 ports). On the xbox version 1 port is dedicated to Xbox connectivity and the other works with every platform but Xbox so you won’t have to worry

Beep sound as in the sound when turning on/off, the sound is very annoying on the 7+ as its a much sharper beep and its louder when you turn it on

Hey everyone, I need help with the Nova Pro Wireless. Im having trouble and was wondering if anyone could help. I use a GoXLR for my audio control. The way I have it set up. Zoom/discord go to chat and pull from my xlr mic. Browsers and media players are filtered to music. Everything else is set as System. This gives me control over my various playback sources. I then run the "LineOut" on the GoXLR to the "Line In" on my base station. This so far all works perfectly. I get the control of the GoXLR and the freedom of the wireless headset.

So far I love all of the above.

What I dislike is and need help with is that the "Auto Off" doesnt see this as playing back content and turns off. Does anyone have a work around outside of physically turning the headset on/off??

Okay i take that back i found on the transmitter in the audio option anc option an there you can turn it off and on that worked for me

under advanced, make sure the enable signal enhancements or something like that is on

Hi guys can anyone help me I use Arctic pro 7 wireless headphones , the options have changed to Steel series sonar - Gaming / Steel series sonar - Chat, ive placed them as default but I cant hear anything from the PC and no one can hear me through my mic what can I do?

i fixed my problem
i had the base station pluged into a usb hub after i changed ports to the one on my laptop it worked as intended

If I set them both to game then the scroll on the headset to monitor the volume of each individual game / chat setup wont work.

That has been a problem for a long time, at least 3 years when I had the arctis 7s

unfortunately, the only way to get both discord and game audio is to set your discord output to game
