I am having an issue with my Apex 7, the oled screen stopped working and when I restart the computer the keyboard disconnects, I tried factory reset to the keyboard and reinstalling the drivers as well, with no luck.

i had that problem when i got it but basically you need to get GG or Engine software and in the mouse settings (not the illumination tab) its called high efficiency mode and you want to turn it off

Should be fine unless it's the apex 3 which doesn't have per key RGB as far as I know. Just use the 'select' tool on the left and click on the keys you want to assign the lighting to.

If you have a PC with Windows 10 try hooking it up, and downloading the Engine, in the engine disable "Mic Sidetone" and that should fix it

And Xbox also has a mic Sidetone but I have to find it

you could try cleaning current Engine\GG app and then after reboot replug your base station.

i do have a pair and did the update just fine. it introduced a PS5 mode aswell.

well from my experience it has been mostly good, have an Arctis Pro wireless, an Arctis 7 the 2017 version, a Sensei 310 mouse, a Rival 300 mouse, also an Arctis 3 headset. the only product that i really had it bad tbch is the Apex M800 keyboard which basically had keys break by itself without even proper gaming usage or anything, sadly not on warranty 😦
only thing i can complain about is the Apex M800 kb, otherwise it has been good.

Worst customer service i've seen in my life :
I sent my rival 500 to get fix in november 2020, They sent me a cupon code to buy the same mice, however they dont even produce it anymore and was never in their store anymore .... ( smart guys)
They never come with anysolution, I told them some solution: I buy from one of your furnisher, and send you the bill etc etc. Basically i was doing their job .... because they never never never offered one solution in 6 month to fix this !!!!!
They finally offer a solution to me the 26 april so almost 6 month after. They will give me a Apex 7( Azerty France) and we just leave the case of the mice
At this time i just accept even if i dont need a keyboard because thats the minimum to appologize, and because i dont want to deal with them anymore.
So the coupon code for the keyboard must take 2 buisness day to come, then they tell me 12days, its been 90 buisness day, my ticket is still open, nobody fix this ....
Nobody from steel series answer on twitter too

An update to my problem, i have uninstalled GG and installed an old version of Engine which has a firmware recovery option. But that didn't work either. The progress bar is stuck at the start, not moving / loading at all. And the base station stays on as if nothing's happening

Yeah, they are not silent switches. O-rings would make them quieter when they bottom out but most people don't like them as they kill the mechanical feel.

my headset stopped working today. out of the blue it dosent get detected any more by windows.

ive spent many many many hours today trying to fix it, i cant really figure it out... ive done so so so many different fixes without anything working now... im so frustrated and broken on this problem so frustrated..

i have to buy a new headset anyway cus trying to fix this broke it further when some glue dident hold... ive done all the reinstall software fixes, ccleaner uninstallations and registry cleans, drivers removed updated reinstalled for my usb's. im so so tierd of trying to google fixes and reading the same solutions and not getting it to work....

yeah my wireless dongle thingy dont light up any more as if its not getting detected... then some fix that dident work was to do factory reset under the earcup so yeeee the glue dident hold and the seem came open and i got a broken earcup and foam everywere .

steelseries dont have chat or phone support and their help articles are so generalised it makes me sick. frustration overload.. if anyone here is pro at usb problems or so, maybe they can give me some advice..

Hey, I have an issue with my Arctis 1 wireless dongle..
When I plug in my dongle, it shows up as a device called (AVNERA AV6301).
Which also makes it so I can't hear/speak with my headset.

I was reading through some forums about this problem and found a "solution". (source: https://www.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/fvrzr3/arctis_7_stopped_being_detected_by/)
I know that this is about the Arctis 7 model but I tried it anyways cause it was about the same dongle problem.
In that post there's a link to a older version of steel series engine (3.13.4).
In that version of Steel series engine, whenever I plug in my dongle it shows me a recovery tab (to assign a new headset to the dongle)
There were 3 options to choose from (what headset i wanted to assign) but none of them was the Arctis 1 wireless.
I clicked Arctis 7 to hopefully fix the problem -> it did reset my dongle and changed it into "Steel series Arctis 7" and makes it so my headset gets recognised in the connected devices list but.. Still no sound or microphone activity..

The new steelseries GG software doesnt have this recovery feature -> Doesnt even find my device..

Is there maybe a newer tool that gives me the option to recover my dongle and assign it to a Arctis 1 Wireless headset?

The button should internally disconnect your mic, so may not be fixable with software. I have discovered any fix for it, everyone else with the issue has had to replace the headset. Your best course of action is probably to return it through your original vendor or contact #official-support to RMA. Sorry you're having this issue.

Hi guys,
I have a very annoying problem with my Arctis Pro + GameDAC headphones. The headset makes annoying crinkling or crackling noises during some sound changes or sound pauses. Sometimes it seems to me as if the sound continues for a very short time even though it was already paused. I can reproduce this e.g. in the Windows sound tests - it occurs here on the third sound test after the left and right test sounds.

Now some more information: Since it bothered me a lot, I exchanged the headphones once. I didn't really notice the problem at first with the new device, but I did after using the SteelSeries GG Enginge and the corresponding hardware update. Switching to another PC doesn't help either, the problem is the same there.

Is there a way to reset the firmware of the headset? I already found it on GameDAC, but that didn't help either. Another question: The GameDAC driver 10.0.18362.1474 (USBAUDIO.sys) from Windows is displayed in the device manager. Is this correct or should there be something from SteelSeries here?
I also noticed in the sound settings of GameDAC (game) that I cannot change the standard format here. It is greyed out with 6 channel, 16bit and 48000 Hz.

Is my issue known? Is there anyway to fix it?

Perhaps. Navigate to the settings and then game detection. On the right there is a small icon. Click on the icon adjacent to the game you are trying to clip and switch the recording settings between them. See if any of them work.

It seems there's some kind of bug with the latest firmware update. You're not the first person to have this problem. Uninstall all the headset drivers then restart the PC and plug the transmitter in again (re-pair of necessary) and then don't update the headphones to the latest firmware until they have a fix

Go into device manager and select the Arctis Pro Wireless Game and Chat options in the headphones/audio listing, once you select one, right click and select "uninstall driver". Once you've done that for both (and any other instances of the APW that may be listed), unplug the base station from the PC, shut down, plug the station back in, and turn the computer back on

All I can suggest is the repertoire of replug, reinstall the engine and factory reset the headset. Other than that, I'd recommend to contact #official-support.

They keyboard should be automatically detected in the engine if compatible. The motherboard and monitor was more of a 1 time thing, probably not terrible successful either.

While im listening music, sound quality is poor.

This is happening after i update my firmware on SteelSeriesEngine.

Also im setting sound volume around 0~20~0~20~0~20, im hearing a sound like bzzt or something like this.

Okay, I guess I was pretty stupid about this problem. Because the method that grogi in steelseries technical support team said wouldn't work anyway. Because I had to first click on the speaker icon in windows and change the audio device from there.

So if the audio visualizer feature does not work on your steelseries devices, set the speaker device to be realtek or the main sound chip on your motherboard (if you are using steelseries headphones, get yourself a cheap speaker because this audio visualizer feature only works on realtek or main device devices on the motherboard)

Gotta say Im pretty disappointed in steelseries logisitcs, they ship their products to South Africa (where I live) but dont bother to sell any replacment parts like ear cups, Im forced to buy the ear cups from their website and ship them to africa for double the price of the ear cup, I didnt do this because its retarded but Im very disappointed. These ear cups should last long and my headset is in immaculate condition but the glue on the ear cups has come apart now my ear padding is falling apart

Twice today, my Apex 7 TKL (purchased on Amazon on 27 May, for what relevance it may have in terms of what firmware is in it) has started to fail.

This morning it stopped working at all, no signals sent to the PC on and off. Then it started to chaotically change the lightning. Not only between profiles, but complete random chaos.

I unplugged and replugged in case the USB had become loose and the keyboard worked again fine.

I shut down FFXIV using the mouse only, obviously. Unplugging and replugging just served to get the keyboard to start shutting the lights and lightning again as in changing from profile to profile. But never sending keypresses.

Currently I'm typing in the keyboard I had previously that I wanted to change because it's full keyboard and too wide for me.

So, any idea or thoughts on what the problem may be or might I try to either resolve it or have better information for when I contact technical support later?

I have the Arctis 7 headset and I'm mostly using it for Google Meet... and for some reason it considers audio out for Meet as "Game" instead of "Chat" so I always have to manually override from Chat to Game - and then Chrome thinks I'm using two mismatched devices.

and yes it's done with the headset volume wheel pressed, it should explain either in manual or the fw update instructios on website.

Update on my issue above: did the reset, so the keyboard was flashing on all blue, but wouldn't take inputs. Reconnected and for now the keyboard works (I'm on it). But if that didn't solve it the keyboard would still fail again at some point.
