I am getting pops, crackles and disconnects on my Arctis 7 headphones, it started the last few days. At first I thought it was wireless dongles/ interference but it does it even when the headset is plugged into usb with charging cable. So either I have a bad headset or the 0.16.0 GG beta software is the cause. I have tried a bunch of USB ports and tried resyncing headset. Any ideas on what to try?

depends how you connect it through bluetooth i dont think youre going to get enough of a connection versus 2.4 g

i have a rival 3 wireless and sometimes the mouse just turns off for a sec and turns back one and sometimes the sensor is laggy, any fixes? also if i turn on the mouse too fast when turning on my pc, i have to turn off the mouse and unplug the usb and turn it back on

Also depends on region as some parts of the world have to pay for shipping no matter what, but in the US I'm fairy sure it's paid shipping if the subtotal is below $50 and free if it's above that unless SteelSeries is running a special promo for orders like they did in November

rma is the only solution i believe, that purple light is to indicate mechanical failure within the mouse and something is causing a technical problem (dust, liquid, food, etc got into the mouse)

So I just got an Apex 7. I do a lot of moderating, and some of that is helped with canned responses on text macros, to get people the right information efficiently. However, I want to keep my keyboard functionality entirely normal, unless I hit the meta key to select a text response (at the very least, in this configuration) so I don't want to overwrite normal keys.

The issue I'm faced with, is when in the macro editor, I can have several different macros, some keystroke macros, some text macros. This is noemal. In the keybindings layer, I can assign macros normally, and that's perfectly fine. If I go to the meta tab, however, I can only assign the keystroke macros, and the text ones won't even display in the list.

I keep getting this issue when I try to install the steel series engine (this is on safe boot mode for windows), I kept having issues so I uninstalled and then when I try to reinstall, even on run as administrator I just get the pop up that states "do you want this software to make changes" and then I click yes and nothing happens when on regular boot mode, idk what to do anymore. It's frustrating because all my sensitivity for my mouse and my audio for my headset is messed up and I haven't gotten back any responses from support

HI all,

yesterday i retrieved the Apex Pro. When i am using steelseries GG and playing a game like league of legends, the keyboard lights of my apex suddenly go off and on during the game. I think it has something to do with moments or a gamesense APP. Anybody known with this issue that can help me? Also the oled screen of my Arctis Pro Wireless is messing up sometimes.

Steel series finally issued me a code for the replacement i started in December, went to their website to actually get it ordered and its out of stock again. I’m literally just getting played by the company.

I cant say I would recommend SS to anyone after my experience. Sad too because they used to be my favorite company.

Hey! I just got my MSI GP65 Leopard, and it has a steelseries keyboard in it, the RGB lighting is sick, but I feel like I messed up something in the audiovisualiser app

I feel like the colours were a gradient at first, from soft to loud, but after messing with the foreground and background effect, I can't get that gradient back

#

Is there any way to reset this, or am I missing something?

if youre looking for the bumpy parts to be a gradient then you make the foreground effect the colorshift effect seen here

I have the Arctis Pro Wireless and I got both types of ear cushions. They got dirty eventually so I tried to clean them by wiping them with a normal cleaning wipe.
And they literally just started to disintegrate and fall apart. Black pieces flaking off.

Go into Engine and set a custom color scheme by either using one of the presets or creating your own. If those keys don't light up even with a custom config then the keyboard is most likely defective and you should make an official ticket through #official-support

It means if I was you, I would have thought to look up how exactly I'm supposed to clean my expensive headset to make sure I don't break it or damage it in some way. You can get replacement cushions either from SteelSeries themselves or like someone else said, getting third party ones that are compatible with arctis headsets. I linked the guide just for future reference so you don't make the same mistake twice or think that you have to deal with filthy headphones during the entire lifespan of the product

Looks like there could actually be an issue with the board itself since the F12 key isn't lit up in the picture you sent either. If it really bothers you and you don't want to set up a custom profile then you can reach out to #official-support and see what they can do for you

It does that sometimes if you use the discord app for engine, if I use the discord app for engine it turns off my numpad the bit that turns off for you and all my function keys, just use a custom profile and make sure ur discord thing is off

Hey everyone! I just recently picked up the Arctis 7 wireless headset for monitoring my stream out of my GoXLR Mini. I have the wireless transceiver plugged into my PC USB, and a cable going from my line out on my GoXLR Mini to the line in on the wireless hub. I have the mic on the headset muted and disabled as I'm using an XLR mic. When I talk, the output to stream seems normal, but to me, it sounds like the mic audio is coming through doubled like a slight echo. Anyone else run into this?

I use Arctis Pro Wireless with a GoXLR and I don't have that problem.

Check that you're using the chat audio device from the GoXLR

And that you're not doing anything weird routing wise

You might have better luck getting help in the TC Helicon Gaming (they make the GoXLR) Discord server as it sounds more like a GoXLR issue

Does anybody know about the pro wireless functionality on the Xbox series x? I read the workaround documentation, but not sure if that's only for audio or if it includes chat support. It says it can connect wired to the controller... does that include chat/mic functionality?

The adapter that comes with Arctis headphones is 4 pole which allows use of the mic, it just has to be plugged into a headphone/mic combo port to work. If you're just plugging into a headphone port then the mic won't work

For sound and mic to work, yes. Obviously any software based features wouldn't work that way, but as long as the 3.5mm port on the Xbox controller is a combo jack for headphones and mics then it should work fine

Are you using the adapter that came in the box? I have the Arctis 5s too and use the 3.5mm with them on my laptop when I travel and the mic works just fine when I plug into the laptop combo port

Yeah that port is only to allow sound to go out of the headphones into another pair of headphones

yeah the quality is really solid, some people have complained of their headsets breaking after taking them off too hard, but mine have endured over 4 years of being pulled off my head and onto the floor by my dog and ive had no problems

It just doesn't work properly. -- I downgraded from a Wireless Pro to an Arctis 7 Wireless.

Default playback device is supposed to be set on ''Headphones (2- Arctis 7 Game) but when I do that, no audio works; Youtube/Spotify just freezes on 0:00.

When I set ''Earphones (Arctis 7 Chat)'' as default it starts playing audio and Youtube videos etc start playing automatically, but not that good. When I play a game, I can barely hear anything and there is no directional sound at all.

I've uninstalled drivers, uninstalled SteelSeries Engine; I've also tried GG. I've reinstalled them. I've done the factory reset on the headset.

#

I re-paired them manually. None of these things have fixed it.

#

When I uninstall Steel Series Engine/GG then it plays audio whilst being set as a default playback device ''Headphones (2- Arctis 7 Game''). When I reinstall the engine it doesn't work again.

To me, Dolby sounds really muddy and unclear compared to stereo uncompressed and sonic. In fact, I can get the same surround sound “effect” if I leave stereo uncompressed on, on the Xbox. Is this normal?

The quality of sound depends a lot on the hardware inside the computer and what drivers are in the headphones. If stereo uncompressed sounds best to you, then that's what you should leave it at.

If it's still under warranty then contact support and get an RMA. If you live in the US the standard warranty is one year and doesn't matter if you bought it from the SteelSeries site, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. As long as you have the receipt or order number of the purchase you'll be good to go

My arctis 7 is just not working at all. It’s power button is flashing red no matter what, except for as long as I hold down the reset button, but it will always go back to flashing red when I let go. I charged it overnight: nothing. I put in a support ticket yesterday, but from what I’ve seen with people having similar problems, I don’t think I’ll get it fixed that way.

My Arctis 5 (2017edition) is not being detected by SSE, i've already tried to reinstall both driver and software, although i've RMAed a braned new 2019edition's Chatmix Dial, it still can't solve the problem. The Chatmix Dial's light works properly, it wont flash or what but the SSE still unable to detect my headset.Can somebody dm me and help me.

So, support isn't responding to my ticket (Feb 11, reply Feb 17, nothing since) and idk what to do. I've tried reinstalling the PC software, reinstalling the device via usb ports, but I cannot get to the options menu on the device to do a hard reset. Has anyone else encountered losing audio from just one side of the Arctis Wireless Pro's? My right ear has no audio unless surround sound is turned on. Today was a normal day, turned them on - then noticed i couldnt hear certain parts of the song i was listening to. After turning off surround sound - the right ear is 0% audio. All settings seem on point.

I also cannot create a ticket for some odd reason.

I believe I'll need an RMA ultimately because they burried their software reset function in the device menus, a place that with the issue, I literally cannot access & there's no backup in the desktop software.

i've got an Msi Gs65 with a build in rgb steelseries keyboard. with one key, ( D) the colors are allways just a bit off. when the keyboard is supposed to be all white, every is white except for the D, the D is light pink. that is with all colors. when i want it to be orange, it is between orange and red. is there a way to solve this?

Hi, I have an issue that I have heard multiple people have in the past whereby my GameDAC drivers don't load correctly on startup resulting in only the 'GameDAC Game' being present in Playback Devices. After the machine has booted fully to windows, I have to unplug the USB and plug it in again in order to get the 'GameDAC Chat' to also appear. I decided to opt in the the Beta for Steelseries Engine to see if the issue persisted through to the beta and it does! Can anyone tell me if this issue has been looked into and if/when a fix is going to be available?

the live mic preview is just for you to test your mic and make sure it sounds ok, so there's likely gonna be some lag as it goes from headset > engine > back to headset. sidetone is built into the headset and should play back at zero latency if you need to be able to hear yourself while using the headset.

Seems like there's been an influx of people reporting issues with their Arctis 7s on GG version 0.16.0 in #bug-reports. Submit your report in that chat so the devs can see it and work on a fix

Do you have Windows Sonic turned on? The headset itself doesn't have any kind of native surround and since it isn't supported in SSE the only way to get surround on the 3s is through Windows Sonic

Go into advanced sound settings and then properties for the Arctis 3 and see if there's any other effects being applied to it or anything through that menu since normal Windows 10 settings don't always show everything

Yeah that's right. Go to the Spatial Sound tab and see what's selected there. Since the left and right channels are showing up all the menus that should mean that the jack and cable are reporting correctly

In that case it could be the cable. If you have another one you could try out that might fix the issue. If you have another PC you could plug the headset into you could also verify it's not the jack that's the problem (which is unlikely)

Then it's probably the RealTek driver that's being buggy. In that case you can try updating the driver or reinstalling it to see if that fixes the issue. There are youtube guides out there that can explain that a lot better than me lol

Ok so if the headest and cable both work fine on another PC then it's the laptop that's being buggy for some reason. I can't really help you that much with that since I don't actually have it in front of me. Only other piece of advice I can give is to try searching around online for solutions to your audio jack not properly reading stereo headphones/speaker channels and see if you can find a solution that way.

I'd still recommend searching around for a fix to the audio port before doing that, but if you're going to get a different headset anyways then I also highly recommend the Arctis 5s. I've been using them for over a year now with 0 issues and they have some great software features through SSE

A micro b cable plugs into the headset itself and into the ChatMix then the ChatMix has a really long cable that terminates into USB A

You'll have to look up the length of the cable since I don't know right off hand, but I've never wished the micro b cable was longer when I'm using it and the adapter on my laptop lol

The ChatMix itself is basically just the USB soundcard that handles all the software processing. The dial allows for quick adjustments between Game and Chat audio outputs so if you're in a Discord call and want to hear either the call more or the game more you can turn the dial and quickly mix those two volumes faster than fiddling with individual audio settings

The Arctis USB headsets have two independent audio outputs so most people assign the "Game" output to be the system default and that's the channel that has any of the effects like surround and the custom EQ and such, then the second "Chat" output can be assigned to individual programs like Discord

Seperately. Unless say Discord was set to output from the Chat source chrome would be the only thing affected by an increase or decrease in system volume if the default for everything was set to Game
