What's the best wired and wireless SteelSeries mouse? Specifically for games like Valorant.
That's probably an issue with the PS5 software locking that volume control and won't be enabled until SteelSeries pushes out the firmware update to their headsets @upper fossil
Although I would try looking around the internet for a workaround. You'll probably get an answer faster doing that than waiting around in this chat

There is serious disconnect between what they claim on the website and reality
@dim forge it's very subjective. Depends on lots of things like hand size, grip style, and weight, though generally the Sensei line is pretty good for competitive games and something the Rival 3 is a pretty good all around mouse. You'll probably have better luck with suggestions in #💬-general since this is mainly a support chat

@upper fossil doesn't really seem like there's a disconnect to me. Doing a quick search in the official SteelSeries channels, everything says the chat mixing feature will be enabled later via a firmware update to the headset itself, and something that Sony will enable later on next year for the PS5 just like the expandable storage option

From what I've found it seems like the Chat Mixing feature will be enabled for all headsets regardless of brand later on next year, like they're doing with the expandable storage option which won't be enabled until next year. SteelSeries is probably going to get to it first, simply because their headsets have the dual audio output feature baked into them already. Until then all you can do is wait, that's just the way it is. Blame Sony for locking down the feature

Yeah, firmware seems unfinished. But there is a bit of blame for arctis. I bought this headset because i was told that firmware update is “optional” and this headset should work fine.

I would guess that if Sony actually implemented the full features of their product before selling it the Arctis would work fine, and they didn't come to SteelSeries and say "Oh by the way, we're limiting the functionality of your product because we want to lock down our console even more."
I'd be more pissed at Sony for selling an incomplete product if I didn't already hate consoles

It's pretty vague wording, but like one of the comments said if they're just adding text to the screen they could have done that on the day of release, but adding actual optimized functionality to a brand new product that's so different than the previous generation takes a little more time, and I don't imagine Sony being very helpful with making sure third party hardware is compatible because they want you to buy Sony products only and never leave their ecosystem
It's the same crap Sony has been pulling for decades. They still haven't learned their lesson because people are still dumb enough to fall into the trap

since some days, my sound stops working as long as the steel series engine is installed
uninstalled the app and my sound works, i reinstall the app and everything stops working

i contacted steelseries about it but they just say 'reinstall drivers and delete the folder etc'

@ivory siren If it says "shipped" that usually means it's left the warehouse and is on it's way to you. You should have been sent a tracking number to check on the progress of the product in an email confirmation or something

How do I increase my volume on the arctis 1 wireless for discord? they aren't even discord certified, but they work with the audio jack, at least, but not the dongle or USB. They work for my Switch perfectly, tho. The engine will only accept changes in the settings if it is connected wirelessly.

hey guys! So I have one small problem. I have the Apex 5, and every now and then when I'm in a game the keyboard will just go black and then all my colors will turn on. It's like resetting itself, but I can still input everything just fine. Any known way to fix this? Thank you!
You might check SteelSeries Engine. Under illumination make sure you don’t have any unwanted affects added. My personal recommendation would be to turn on color shift and choose the colors you want it to cycle through. If that doesn’t work I’d recommend going to https://support.steelseries.com/hc/en-us to see if they can help solve your problem 👍

My Arctis 5 is connect to PC with Chatmix Dial, i tried plugging it into USB3.0 and 2.0 but the SteelSeries Engine won't detect it unless i re-plug. I have to do this everytime when i turn on my PC. I've already tried uninstall both the SS engine and the Arctis 5 Device through device manager but the problem still occurs. I confirmed that the SS engine is the latest version.

Should be exactly the same. All XOne peripherals work on XSX & vice versa. SS are calling them Series X so people know they work on it. In reality, they are XBOX peripherals.

So i have an aerox 3 that i recently bought and its disconnected from the dongle how do i reconnect it?
Well try unplugging the dongle and putting back in make sure the mouse is on
You should be able to put the dongle into paring mode manually and reconnect the mouse without software. If you still have the box for the mouse then check the manual
all the manuel says is just "to further customize your mouse or repair a wireless dongle download the steelseries engine software"

Hello, after using the siberia v3 prism for years my headband broke so i ordered a new one. Im currently trying to replace it but i cant seem to find out how ... there are 4 screws on each side of the headset which need to be removed i think so i removed the top 2 from each side but the bottom two are too close to the earcups and i cant get to them because of that. Does anyone have any info on how to unscrew them and put in a new band ? Thanks in advance

@delicate stag if that's happening then there's a mismatch between your coupon and the product. I'd check to make sure you got the right one in your cart, but if you're sure you got the right one, respond back on the ticket and the agent can fix it/send a new one

the only change that changes is the color of the earcups
for the wired Arctis 1, they are considered different models in the backend, so only the agent can fix it.
the RMA coupon will cover the unit and shipping once it's fixed

Yeah, unfortunately the shipping includes import fees, since the item ships from across the border in the USA, so that's why it ends up being high. We send stuff to Amazon and Best Buy and if you buy from them, you don't have to pay the import fees since they already moved the items into Canada. Once the holidays rush is over I'm sure things will come back in stock. 😅

I'd probably just cancel them I've just bought some arctis 7x and thought the audio was terrible especially for FPS games with gunshots and explosions. Not worth the money in my opinion.

I hope I can get a solution here. I have Steelseries arctis 9. Discord do not register mic. The headset worked fine on laptop, but not on desktop. I have checked drivers, device and sound setting in windows 10. Mic works fine in bluetooth on phone. GG apps tell me headset is not supported even thou mic according to Steelseries is certified for Discord. Mic is working but not in Discord. I have the latest software for headset. When I try push to talk it shows I am pressing the button but none hear what I say. Any brave that might have an idea what is wrong ?

@tender rapids Once you log into your SteelSeries account on their website (if you don't have one, make one) you can hover over your profile icon and click "Support Tickets" or you can go to your profile page and click "Support" from there. It will take you to the Support page, just select "Contact Us" and follow the instructions to enter your issue, and they'll get back to you in a few days with a solution. From experience, the support team has always been really awesome and helpful.

theyre essentially the same thing but go about measuring or what not a different way
dpi means dots per inch and is basically looking at the density of said dots from a view of display. it quite literally looks at ink density on a sheet of paper persay
cpi still is counts per inch. the higher the cpi the more sensitive. You can look at it as the number of 'steps' the mouse's sensor reports to your computer when it movies one inch, but what the number really is referencing is how many pixels fit into one inch on the surface of the mouse sensor, which is a bit like the CMOS sensor of a digital camera
one is measuring via display (dpi) and how many dots can fit into the view of the sensor, while cpi is the sensor itself and how often it reports back or the steps it reports to your computer
the measurements are still the same essentially as far as i know @tender rapids

Dual Bluetooth always works fine for me, weird it shouldn't for you. What model laptop is it?
If it's older and doesn't have a newer Bluetooth standard (I have Bluetooth 4 at least) it might not support dual connect.
A decently cheap and easy solution is to get an external USB Bluetooth adapter and connect one or both devices to that instead of the built-in Bluetooth.
It's an Acer Aspire 7 so pretty recent. But once it worked but I had a huge audio lag between the game and the headset
Bluetooth is known to have some audio lag, but not hugely notable. Depends a lot on the device. If you got the laptop new within the last 2 years or so it shouldn't be an issue, any older and it gets a bit hairy. Bluetooth made some huge leaps in quality since 2017 or so, with the 5.1 and 5.2 standards being released in 2019.
I see. Maybe I just need to update Bluetooth driver or so.
If you go to the Bluetooth Settings page along the right side are a bunch of troubleshooting options that might help if you haven't tried them already.

If that doesn't help, a good Bluetooth 5 dongle will only run you about $20 on Amazon (assuming you're in the US), Bluetooth 4 is even less, closer to $10 if you shop around (although I'd suggest paying a bit more for a newer, more reliable one)

If you know the headset works fine on Bluetooth w/out the controller, I'd go for a Bluetooth-based solution before shelling out for expensive controller mods. And hey, it's Amazon, if it don't work just send it back for a refund.

Hi I live in Canada and I'm having trouble getting my hands on an Arctis 9. I can't find it anywhere and anytime i try to look it up it gives me the 9x which I don't want. The official site says it isnt available in my region :/
I don't know about shipping and availability and what not but If there is no price difference the 9x will work the same as the 9s because they are compatible with all platforms.

They fit on any switch with a Cherry MX style stem. So yes, they will fit.

Hmm. Might be a hardware issue. I'd escalate to the Support section on the SteelSeries site if I were you, the pros might be able to help you better than I can.
Alternatively, give each component a good hard smack and see if that fixes the issue. Sometimes it's just being stubborn and needs to be shown it's place. lol

Yes, it handles a lot of high currents and processing power, warm is very normal

up to about 60° is normal for most electronics, computers will even get hotter

let's put it this way, if it stops working, that's bad, if it burns you, also bad, and if you let the magic smoke out of the system that is very bad. Anything else is considered "normal operation".

Question, my Arctis Pro is just 2 weeks old and both earcups have problems, one of them is very difficult to tilt and swivel, feels very stiff. And the other one hangs way too loose. Should I RMA this one? I heard lots of people complain about the Arctis earcups breaking on them.

Hey, anyone here running Arctis 9 wireless on linux? I've found a couple things about Arctis 7 having issues, but now being supported explicitly, but nothing about Arctis 9 - are they just recognized as a generic USB headset when using the usb adapter, or is there some driver magic going on?
or i guess an easier way to frame this, would the headset work (via 2.4Ghz, not bluetooth) if connected to anything that supports USB headsets in general? i.e. android/ios devices, etc (given the right dongle/adapter, of course)
miss using my transmitter
I see there is still no Arctis 7p Transmitters in stock either so can't even use my code to get a replacement transmitter...
I contacted support about my issue and they gave me a code to get a replacement transmitter for my headset which has 2 month expiry date
and they are out of stock... so I can't even add it to basket.
not to mention my headset transmitter I believe isn't actually broke it just has the wrong driver installed into it
which seems to have overwritten what was on the transmitter before.
was installing a Bluetooth driver and it seemed to have mistaken my Arctic 7p transmitter as a Bluetooth device and installed the Bluetooth driver on there instead.
which was the first issue
so I contacted support
then they sent me the wrong driver which screwd it up even more......
and not like I could get a replacement headset because the headset itself is out of stock....

@chrome jewel I managed to resolve my issue, I had to disable the "Handsfree telephony" in the services of the Bluetooth device (Arctis). And now I can hear and play Halo with the controller AND the Arctis without any cable (nor delay or very little)

Steelseries support has utterly failed me. I have a valid warranty claim on a mouse that I purchased from an authorized seller and they for some reason mistakenly marked it as not being validated and they cancel every single support ticket where I ask them to look into fixing the error. It has been months of frustration. Anyone know what else I can do?

Hi! I have an Aerox 3 Wireless and I can't seem to figure out why the bluetooth mode lags so much. The mouse is running version 1.6.8 which I'm not sure if that's the latest or not but it might be helpful to know. 2.4ghz and wired work flawlessly.
Depending on your computer and how many devices you have connected, Bluetooth is known to sometimes have issues with lag
I'll see about reinstalling bluetooth drivers and see if that fixes the issue

I just updated the drivers and I'm still having issues with lag. Not sure what else could be causing this. I don't have any other BlueTooth devices connected to my computer either. I also tested it on multiple devices and got the same result.
Probably a hardware issue on the mouse, it is a relatively new one so that's to be expected in the first gen of hardware
If you can live w/out the bluetooth that's the best option, it takes a lot of battery and doesn't perform as well anyways
Or you can go to SteelSeries Support and see what they recommend

you could try resetting all the rgb or reinstalling the software
check your Engine settings too, it's possible this key got tweaked by accident
yeah, probably a driver or firmware issue
Not sure if you can reset to factory within the Engine but there should be a way to do it somehow

All right so the general way to clean caps fully is kinda of tedious. You'll need to take them all off and put them in a little container of sopa and water and let them soak some then dry and put them all back. If you're not looking to thoruoghly did it that way just get some compressed air and some alchohol wipes

Before I had these I would use vodka and a microfiber cloth and that seemded to work ok too

They stopped doing the Registration thing a while ago, it was real weird. Maybe they did that to make sure they were't giving out free EQ software, as there's no other way for the Engine to recognize an Arctis through 3.5mm.
The current documentation says to configure them through Windows sound setting instead, no registration needed

maybe. This sounds like an issue for the official support, as they should be able to tell you if that feature with the EQ is still available, it's entirely possible they dropped support in a recent update.

That is a loose hinge problem. If you have had them long enough that they aren't under warranty you can try to open them up (carefully) with a screwdriver and attepmt to tighten it, otherwise contact Official Support and see about professional repair or replacement

I wouldn't say "waste of time", you can get real good advice from community members in here if you have an issue, but no, you don't get official support if that's what you want to know. The real support guys take longer lol
