If you have tried to re-pair the headset, another USB port on the PC, clean install and the headset keeps disconnecting somehow then you may have a defective unit and will need to open a #official-support ticket through the steelseries website

I don’t think there’s a hard reset on these but I may be wrong, you can try and hold the power button down for 10-30 secs or the volume button “in” for the same amount and see if any of those will do it. I’m not home right now and never tried it before

I recently replaced my steel series arctis 7+ and whenever i press the power button to pause the music im listening to it for some reason presses g in what ever game im playing. Also for some reason the new one i got from gamestop takes usb C now and feels very different from my old one.

I'm currently using Arctis Nova 7 Wireless and after a while my headset began sounding like the headset is being disconnected from the wireless dongle even tho it's close to the wireless dongle. I already tried pairing the headset with dongle but it still giving me an unsynced sound on my headset. Please help. Is there any way to fix this?

Hi! Thought I'd repost this to a more fitting place: I have come from a Pro Wireless to the Nova Pro Wireless - while I am still adjusting to it when it comes to the audio, I mainly wanted to figure out why using the virtual microphone from Sonar ends up causing audio bleedthrough on stuff like Discord. I've only noticed it with Chat mode (probably Game mode does too), but basically everything I am listening to tends to get picked up by this virtual microphone. Using the regular one prevents it.

Please see the set up guide pinned in this channels main page under “Pins”. Once this is set up right in Sonar, Windows, and discord, then you can tune the mic settings in discord for noise cancellation/gate etc.

Also, keep in mind if you’re using voice activation in Discord or games, they have their own sensitivity settings that may need to be adjusted

So I feel like over time my wireless arctis 7 connection range has really died out and I've been trying to diagnose it. Does anyone know of any common issues that happen with that model that may cause its 2.4 Ghz range to diminish over time?
My current setup uses a mixer that I use to plug into the USB dongle with a 3.5mm jack, not sure if that is related to my issue or if its a hardware/driver thing. Any help is much appreciated!

Hi! I noticed to problems with my Arctis Nova Pro Wireless Base Station.

1. It never turns off even after the PC shutdown. That's absolutely annoying.
2. Pressing the button on the station doesn't show the chatmix option.

Especially the first problem is very annoying. Can someone help? Is it a known problem?

It was an intended change to work with PlayStation, we are all hoping for an updated solution that works but you can always open a #official-support ticket or feature request it although im not sure if it falls under #sonar-feature-requests.

The second is a glitch that happens when you update, you can re-pair the headset to the DAC or unplug the usb from the pc for 10 secs

Hey guys so i cant seem to get my arctis 9 headsets to work under the "steelseries arctis 9 gaming sonar virtual sound. my mixer says its playing sounds when i test it on sonar and windows mixer but when i go to play a video or game i hear no sounds coming out of the headphones.

Hi! I'm using SteelSeries GG for my clips, but it is really annoying that the "clip saved" sound appears in the clip... Is there any way to keep the sound but mute it from clips? Hope I've explained myself correctly, English isn't my mother tongue

I think you have explained yourself perfectly... When you clip it, you can shorten the clip by dragging these thicker sections at the end of the time select... (if you need to, in the settings you can increase the length recorded in a clip, to allow for cropping while preserving the length of clip you want)

Every time Windows restarts and/or updates, all SteelSeries settings are reset. Now I'm not even able to select the correct input/output options in their own app. Both Gaming and Chat simply don't exist in the dropdown menus in Sonar. I presume this is a widespread issue, since I've found numerous threads on Reddit talking about it, but I haven't found any solutions. Does anyone here know what to do, other than write off GG altogether, or possibly just buy a better headset that isn't SteelSeries?

I had some problems with arctis 3, so I opened it up to see what was wrong, and wires on spk l- and spk l+ ripped off due to poor factory soldering and me being not careful enough
i would appreciate any help, else i will have to buy new board from ebay

you may find the same signal, if the via is of through-hole variety (as opposed to a blind via)

now if you find the one that's exactly on the same spot, it might be it

you need to uncover bare copper trace to be able to solder

soldering just burns it off

it's a good technique to start soldering the wire alone, and once it's wetted with solder, put it on pcb and solder very briefly

it's important, as heating the pcb for too long will cause the traces to fall off

I feel like what I'm using now works rather well for hearing footsteps, but just wondering if there's a more optimized option. I've also been using DTS:X over Dolby Atmos - am I crazy thinking it actually sounds more accurate? lol

I also tried uninstalling > installing
And uninstalling Sonar drivers
Windows is up to date
Starting as Administrator ( did not start and was suggested on the support page )

uninstall gg yes uninstall to do this goto search type control panel enter control panel top right if it says catagory drop it down and select large icons this will show the proper control panel apps then scroll to find and click "programs and features" then in the window scroll until you find steelseries and highlight and click uninstall then click back until your in control panel again and click "explorer file and folder options" then select "show hidden files, folders and drives" click apply and ok close goto c drive and delete steelseries from "programfiles" and " programfiles (x86) " and "programdat" unplug your device reboot and before you plug back into a different port install gg login to your account plug your device back in and activate sonar ....... it should then work properly

Hello, I got an issue with my arctis 7 headset on PUBG pc. So from like 2-3 months is going to be annoying on gameplay. If the action ( like a car sound, or a fight ) happened when im turned with my back character the sound is off. I can't hear anything if I'm not literally seeing the action with my character. I need to mention that I'm not using the Sonar or the 7.1 surround. I've already tried to reinstall the SteelSeries software, the game, and even the windows. If anybody has an idea of how I can solve this I will appreciate it forever.

Now, I'm using GG 26.1.0 and latest version Windows 11 and Gaming&Chat still there. Maybe, I will uninstall my installed GG, Restart my PC, Download latest GG from Steelseries website and do clean install GG.

It should solve the issue if i get that issue.

That’s what I did also, tried everything but nothing works. Did get to work once for a couple mins by uninstalling GG, but then stopped working again. Now when I plug it in with the usb c it’s just keeps connecting and disconnecting and playing that sound over and over. I just sent in a support ticket. I’ll share if I ever get a reply.

Hello, I have an issue with Sonar on my laptop (Windows 11).
The Sonar microphone and Chat devices are working perfectly, so is the headset device used directly without Sonar (Arctics Nova Pro Wireless). But the Sonar Gaming device does not output any sound.
I checked that sound effects were disabled on the Sonar Gaming device and on the headset device, but I still cannot get any sound out of it.
Side note : Everything works flawlessly on my Windows 10 desktop machine that uses the other USB port.

All three devices are supposed to be set to headphones (arctis 7+) in sonar

Then you need to make sure in windows “Sonar Game” is your default audio device, “sonar chat” is your default communications device, and “sonar mic” is default mic. The guide pinned in this channels page shows the correct set up.

As soon as I purchased the keyboard (apex pro tlk wireless (2023)) and connected it to the computer, it began to behave strangely, constantly blinking nervously and noticed that one key was somehow pressed. at some point, it could launch a huge number of applications for no reason. at the first start of the keyboard, it asked me to install new drivers, following the instructions, I did everything in order, but an error popped up (that something is wrong), but at that time I didn’t pay much attention and another time it was OK. At other times, the keyboard works as if nothing had happened, whether wireless or connected. It will get to a point where the difference becomes subjective and down to what you like more. They both sound good. The Nova Pro is better over all (to me) but you may mess with the tuning a little to make it sound more to what you like

That could be due to different reasons, usually those sounds are eliminated if you connect a ground loop device between your DAC and whatever is your other source.

What is the configuration you are using?

It's really simple I just run line out from my tansmitter to my speakers (soundblaster katana)

I was hoping to be able to control it for the transmitter as that is easier for me but adjusting the volume on it doesn't even change anything anyway

I know some amount of noise is to be expected with an analog cable but it's way too much.

I have an issue with my Nova Pro Wireless.

Whenever I'm in a voice chat, everyone's voice keeps getting cut off with a robotic type sound. Started happening yesterday.

I checked my battery, I reset my headset, I checked my Sonar settings (tried with Sonar on and off), I checked my audio settings on PC/Discord, etc... and NOTHING is fixing the issue...

When I listen to a video on youtube the issue isnt noticeable (although sometimes I have experienced noise cutting), however on Discord or Xbox app (PC) the issue is very much there and can only pick up parts of what people are saying....

Had an odd thing occur today on my Arctis 9 PRO. I installed sound drivers for a new motherboard and suddenly my left cup is much louder than the right. I disabled the motherboard sound devices and only the arctis devices are active now, but still the same problem. I can change my primary audio device to "chat" and both are equal again but all the effects are gone, and the sound quality is not as good. I have the arctis pro + GamDAC and basically my headphones make a constant squealing noise and the only way for me to stop it is to turn down the volume on my headset but when i change the volume on the DAC nothing happens to the squealing

I can push the dial on the dac to get the mix to change but I don't think there is a "chat channel" the sonar recognizes. I have tried discord and Skype. I can not mix the 2 audio channels. Anyone understand my problem?

The chat channel never shows a green bar rise giving any feedback that there is actually any sound. The game saound bar will rise and fall with game sound.

Unplug the usb from the pc for 10 seconds or simply re-pair the headset to the DAC and the chat mix split should work

If you turned off sidetone already then you can play with the Mic EQ in sonar along with the AI noise cancellation and noise gate. Assuming you’re not running another program or app that introduced sidetone or reverb

Just purchased Nova Pro Wireless and following a firmware update, the headset won’t turn on while on battery power unless the power button is held (it disconnects and powers off upon release) and unless it is plugged in through usb. The base works fine and has shown no issues.

But Sonar doesn't offer the "Master"-channel as output device, you have to choose either, Gaming or Chat for output device

Hi all, I ordered some Arctis pro wireless headphones which arrived today but after having plugged the DAC in to my laptop (Alienware X17 R2 windows 11) and syncing cans to DAC my laptop isn't seeing the headphones..what am I missing?

Do I need to connect to the laptop via Bluetooth? OR does the DAC act as the bridge?

@deep cliffng by that pic i would first drop the mic selection down and change it to the sonar mic next output change that to sonar games then in sonar make sure your defaulted to sonar in the mixer screen

@deep cliff you should follow the set up guide pinned in this channel’s main page as it will help you make sure the set up in Sonar/windows and discord is correct.

From there you can tweak the EQ and different preset settings to your liking, not all headsets/mics are the same so it will take some tweaking on your part.

There are great headset specific reviews out there with settings/EQ recommendations on YouTube channels like @hexed night that you can use as a baseline set up and configure from there.

Pull down 2k a bit. Boost 100hz. From there try reducing 1k a little as well. A couple of the presets aren’t bad either but test it out to see what works for your voice

np. What I said isn't perfect but that's how I started. The 1-2k region can have some harshness to it, and the 3-4k region can have some of that walkie talkie/sibilant sound. You don't want to take away too much from those regions or the mic will sound muffled, but those are the most important areas to adjust outside of adding a little warmth to your voice.

pull 62 Hz down to 2-3 dB. Pull 250 down to like 2. Lift 500 back up to 0. That may be too much of a drop at 1k but I would use the voice recorder on your computer and record with the EQ turned On and off to hear the difference

I would give that a shot and see how you like it. We have different voices so what work for me may be different for you. I don't boost 8khz as much but it can sound better for some people. Try on and off on EQ while recording yourself then play it back and see what you think

I'm unable to get SONAR to work properly on Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. The Chat channel works, Microphone channel works, but there is no sound on the Game channel. When switching to the headset directly as an output device, it works perfectly fine, just no SONAR. I am only having this issue with my gaming laptop. On my desktop, this headset works perfectly fine with SONAR. I've tried re-installing GG, audio drivers, changing outputs, etc. Still no dice. Anyone have other ideas?

Yep. Looks all good there. Windows shows sounds activity on the Sonar Gaming channel, GG sees sound activity on the gaming output channel, but the sound never reaches the headset base. No sound activity showing on the L R bars there.

GG says my headphones are selected as the output device for Sonar. Still no sound.

I have the arctis pro + GamDAC and basically my headphones make a constant squealing noise and the only way for me to stop it is to turn down the volume on my headset but when i change the volume on the DAC nothing happens to the squealing
the only thing wrong with me headset pysical wise is that there is a small crack on the right headphone. However. the squealing has been happening even before i cracked it
one other thing is that i got a new wire to connect the headphones to the DAC

Most, if not all of the audio/sonar software related issues we see here is because the set up is not correct or has been updated by some device, program, or update.

Follow the guide below for Sonar, and the link after that for Discord. In some games you will also need to make sure the audio input and output is pointing to the correct devices.

Hey, I'm having issues with my audio. I have a arctis nova pro wireless and I'm not getting any sound from my computer, my bluetooth is working with sound. I have made sure my sonar is setup correctly following the guide with having trouble with audio input and output, but still nothing. It shows there's audio being heard on the DAC and the sonar program, but I cant hear anything. I've also tried switching the batteries and stuff. I recently unboxed the headset.

Any suggestions?

Hi friends, I joined you today by buying arctis 3, but when I connect the headset with dual 3.5 jack from the front panel, the sound comes out, but it does not detect the microphone, sometimes it sees the microphone as a speaker and picks up the sound on the computer. I couldn't figure out what I did, I guess the last resort would be to format it.

In windows sound settings the microphone is visible but not picking up the sound. When I connect it to the phone alone, there is no problem with the microphone.

If the 3.5mm jack on the front is a combo audio/mic jack then you would only use the standard 3.5mm plug. If it’s two separate jacks then you would use the splitter

if anyone with wine/linux knowledge could help me out id appreciate it! im trying to run the engine software through wine in arch linux (using the proprietary nvidia drivers dunno if it matters) but whenever i start the software im greeted with this monstrosity, in this screenshot im using a virtual desktop but if i dont use that it also is a mess just without the blue background and stuff. im trying to get my arctis pro wired to work with it and i think its being detected by the program atleast- when i right click the steelseries icon in the corner it shows the headset as being detected sooo i just dunno whats going on with the main window

@frank remnantif it's having problems with wine try using vmware and making a windows 10 or running a ready made windows 10 iso in it and installing gg to that wine can be buggy at the best of times
