You mean paired? If not you can look at your instruction manual to see if there’s a way to re-pair it. Sorry not familiar with that procedure, I thought you mean where the actual dongle goes into

any dongle that comes with any SS device is paired out of the box so there shouldn't be any need to re-pair or do a first time pairing. If you absolutely need to re-pair, it's usually explained in the manual. For most devices pairing is done through the GG app, but some devices do have pairing buttons on the dongle/base station

I would make sure your windows, Sonar, and in game or app settings are all correct as sometimes updates can change around things.

@plush orchidsome really bad app faults can be caused by bad hardware settings like in bios so if your one of those that likes to tinker access bios then hit the button that resets your bios to optimized defaults then save and exit and boot into windows then try setting up your peripherals in windows if that still didn't work then you may have a peripheral hardware issue or even a compatibility issue with another piece of hardware ..... aren't computers great eh ....... no wonder we will end up being exterminated by ai robots in the future lol

What's up team, so I very recently (yesterday) got a set of SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wired headphones. So far my experience with them has been......well really really bad? I have tried downloading and redownloading the Sonar software and resetting the deck.
My problem is that everything sounds like it is at the end of a tunnel. Even when turning off surround sound bullets and sounds of people shooting (a game called Hell Let Loose specifically) sound like they could be coming from anywhere. It feels like I have purchased some high end headphones only to essentially make a massive downgrade. Maybe it's the way I have it set up? Maybe it's a first edition bug that is yet to be addressed?

You can turn off device fallback although someone mentioned that with the recent software update it wasn’t working correctly, if so expect a fix soon I’m sure. It’s under the main settings tab in GG

Try them on a phone and see if they still do the same thing, if they do it in all apps/browser etc I would recheck all of the connections or try and different usb.

Check out some custom tuning options and make sure everything is set up correctly. You can watch @hexed night review on them on his YouTube channel and he goes through a good all around set up that you can use as a baseline for your headset

Most, if not all of the audio/sonar software related issues we see here is because the set up is not correct or has been updated by some device, program, or update.

Follow the guide below for Sonar, and the link after that for Discord. In some games you will also need to make sure the audio input and output is pointing to the correct devices.

I know nothing about the keyboard engine, but if you are trying to set apply an RGB change and they keys aren’t lighting up I saw someone mentioned that their keyboard brightness was all the way down and that’s why they weren’t getting any lighting.

Not sure if it’s a brightness setting in gg but they mentions a key combination to go up and down and brightness

Try and unplug the dongle for 30 secs or try another USB port see if that will trick it. Assuming you didn’t turn off the 2.4ghz by accident or somethingx there’s a switch on the bottom

So I’m currently having a problem with my mouse. It works wired and on Bluetooth but wont work in 2.4ghz mode, the battery on Bluetooth says 100% but on the GG engine it says it’s charging with 0 to 1 bar of battery, it was fine last night working on 2.4 but now it just won’t connect. Yes, on the DAC. You can press the main button once and it will switch from Volume to chat mix.

As long as everything is set up correctly then it work as intended.

Be aware that there has been a glitch after an update where the chat mix balance doesn’t seem to do anything and the headset just needs to be re-paired to the DAC if so, or simply unplug the USB from the PC and wait 10 secs before replugging it in.

You can try and uninstall GG, all the remaining folders, reboot then run GG again.

Hey, I have huge issue with Sonar, I have Arctis pro + gamedac and when I am turning on Sonar, in CS GO start screen I have huge fps drop from 117 to 15 - 20 and when I am dead in game it has same problem drops from 400 to 15 - 20. + When I am launching game it has weird background sound like headset would be broken and has like scratchy 3d sound. Sometimes game just crashed down and stacking completely. Sometimes mouse is just lagging and moving with huge lags. Is there any suggestions what to do? When I turned off Sonar - everything works very good.
In game (CS GO) sometimes when I am alive it has same issue with fps drops 400 - 120 (it feels terrible, when it happens).
Just to reduce all lags I turned off moments and Sonar. But my pc can run cs go with fps 700 -800 and I am kind of scared of using Sonar and moments to record videos because of those fps drops and PC stacking...

My mic is static when i use clipping software eg geforce expieriance so ruins everything, i figured to turn down my bass boost in the sound control area, but when i do that my microphone becomes silent so thats why i keep the boost up, but that means static

I have a problem with my artics 9x. The headset is connected and plugged in with usb cable. I've installed the software for it and it says its connected and everything is fine, but i cannot hear anything coming through the headset, neither i can restart the headset through the pinhole because nothing happens. I have a problem with my Arctis 7 + Mic, my friends hear some of my computer audio (and its driving me nuts) ivve looked all over the internet to try to find a solution, but when i do a mic test on discord i can still hear it. Ivve tried lowering my mic on both discord my computer and in Sonar, ivve looked at countless videos about it and tried everything, my drivers are fully updated, ivve turned off sterio mix. what does this category look like for you in the sonar mixer page? if your microphone is selected, and sonar still isn't picking it up AND neither is discord (or some other application that uses a microphone), then try disabling sonar in GG's Settings -> General -> toggle the sonar toggle to off at the top. If it works in discord after doing this, you may need to reinstall GG in order to use sonar as this would mean it (sonar) could be glitched.

I have a little issue since a few days that really annoys me. so I have the apex 3 and I made myself custom color change, and I made it as fluid as possible, for the smooth circuits, it works for some time, but after a few ones it suddenly instantly changes color... I dont know what could trigger this, I cant really say if its only happening in a game or not, but it distracts me and Im sure its not supposed to be. second problem, when I play csgo, I know there is this gamesense, and I used it for some time but then it kinda annoyed me so I disabled it, but everytime I play my keyboard stays at one color, why is that? Third party will be your quickest option, the seal for ANC is not as good on them as the vinyl so steelseries will probably not release any. Wicked cushions should release the Nova pro specific ones soon or you can buy the 3rd party adapter and use standard cushions or 3rd party ones

3.5mm headsets won't get detected by your system as a SteelSeries headset. this is because the 3.5mm connection doesn't send data, it's just pure audio. If you have a headset connected over 3.5mm then you need to use your on-board audio devices like realtek.

sonar is just an extra bit that you don't need to use

Hi All! I have an Arctis Pro & GameDAC headset. I really like it. Minor niggles: (1) The illumination on the left ear piece randomly shuts off. I can use the GG app (latest version) to turn it back on, but what a nuisance. (2) The mic mute button is very 'loose', requires only a very slight pressure to turn it on rather than a positive click. Turning the mic off (muting) is difficult without removing the headset. It';s almostly like the button gets slightly stuck. Any ideas for how to resolve?

ok then here is what i suggest read the instructions 😁 no seriously just incase there is something but then if there isn't unplug it plug your old mouse in goto control panel open device manager find the input driver for mouse then whilst that is open plug your steelseries mouse back in at the same time into a different port then check and test but do see if there is a driver install for it as well keep the device manager open to see what driver it needs and if there is a update

hi guys. i just got the arctis nova 3. when ever i try to turn on sonar it stutter back and forth from Realtek and steel series audio. i then turn of the Realtek driver but then i get no audio. my solution right now is to disable Realtek driver, reset pc, turn on sonar, then enable Realtek driver and then it works. idk if that's normal or if I'm doing something wrong

I solved that, not a connection issue of course but thank you for answer 🙂 I was using the Arctis Pro with the external DC power, since there are only 2 data USB C ports on the Nova Pro, I powered it from my PC and I figured it is a grounding problem. I tried to power it with the second USB input from 5V USB outlet and the humming noise is gone. It's a bummer, now I am thinking a power and data splitter with common ground but IDK will it work... I'll live and see.

uninstall gg yes uninstall to do this goto search type control panel enter control panel top right if it says catagory drop it down and select large icons this will show the proper control panel apps then scroll to find and click "programs and features" then in the window scroll until you find steelseries and highlight and click uninstall then click back until your in control panel again and click "explorer file and folder options" then select "show hidden files, folders and drives" click apply and ok close goto c drive and delete steelseries from "programfiles" and " programfiles (x86) " and "programdat" unplug your device reboot and before you plug back into a different port install gg login to your account plug your device back in and activate sonar ....... it should then work properly

Hey all, my headphones disconnected due to inactivity but my computer remained on. When I turned my headphones on again, the sound output from Sonar or "SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming (SteelSeries Sonar Virtual....." is now playing through one of my computer monitors speakers, instead of through my headphones. If I change the audio output to "Headphones (Arctis Nova Pro Wireless)", audio then plays through the headphones. If I were to keep it like this, my ChatMix functionality will not work anymore. Please let me know if there is a way to fix this.

@rotund iristy well from what i can ascertain i don't think it's your headset especially with you having 2 different headsets both sounding like a robot what i would do right now is do a complete back up of your important data and do a fresh wipe and reinstallation of your laptop when this is done before anything else i would plug your headset in and play some music if that is ok access facebook or twitter etc and voice chat someone thru those apps only no discord or gg etc i want it as basic as poss so you can tell if it is the headset or motherboard/laptop or neither as it may fix the issue

Are you opped in to the beta features? It’s in the settings tab in steelseries GG.

I could have sworn it’s only initially available for nova headsets, maybe even nova pro but I can be wrong.

You can always try to uninstall GG and any remaining steelseries folders, reboot, and clean install

What's even funnier I tested it on two different machines, my laptop and brothers pc. Both sound robotic and don't know the reason for it lol. It even occasionally picks up sounds from games that are fully muted and even when im muted aswell. Might be my account being cursed or something but will try to reinstall the system and see if something changes.

@rotund irisyou fed the magui after midnight didn't you (gremlins) ...... when reinstalling try to keep things to a bare minimum so you don't have conflicts etc also if you want to not have manufacturers drivers do this download windows 11 from microsoft into a iso then make a usb stick install using rufus latest replace drive in laptop with a fresh drive which you have first formatted fully not quick then install windows which will install all relevent drivers for your laptop sound everything then you can totally test your sound bog standard

i keep getting issues with the apex pro tkl wireless keeps disconnecting some keys dont light up, letter P is flashing red and battery is not accurate and runs out quickly and the SteelSeries engine i cant control the keyboard through there as it doesnt work also after leaving it for a 3 minutes it automatically turns off which is also annoying and there isnt an option for the esc key to not glow while its charging. also the screen is slow and buggy on the keyboard and thats the only way to control the keyboard. also when keyboard turns off everything resets like the keyboard settings like actuation. please help

yep it'll work on PC, but be aware that the console version of the arctis 3 doesn't come with the mic/headphone splitter cable. so if your PC has split 3.5mm ports for audio/mic input, then you'll need to buy an extra cable to make it work

It’s probably just the batteries, depending on the headset and environment the batts may already be dead. How long ago did you buy the headset?

my headset has always worked, but when i used voicemeeter banana sometimes it would mess up and send the audio from my desktop through the mic, i got annoyed and deleted voicemeter and tried this but its still there

I would uninstall both if you still have VM, and steelseries GG. Delete any remaining folders then do a new install of GG.

It’s something to do with the audio devices you have enabled/disabled in windows and sonar.

Basically virtual devices like sonar game has to be default audio, sonar chat default comms, and sonar mic default recording device.

But the actual device, in your case your sound card or motherboard audio still needs to be enabled correctly in the devices and pointed to in sonar as the output (game and chat) and input (mic)

So it may take some playing around on your end to figure your specific configuration

Alright. So I just got a pair of Arctis 7+ Wireless. I installed GG and Sonar and saw that you can make GG automatically set an EQ Preset made in GG. I saw that Sonar has some presets specially made for some games. I was wondering if I can make GG set a Preset from Sonar when I open a certain application. E.g.: I open CS:GO -> GG sets the CS:GO by Valve EQ Preset

my arctis 9 wont connect to my pc wirelessly or with a wire. When I hit reconnect or pair in the engine it just says failed with no additional info

if system sound is set to output on sonar it goes through the monitor

If you still want to use sonar with Bluetooth then sonar needs to point to the Bluetooth device in chat and mic? I don’t know that’s a weird ass set up lol

It would be simpler to use discord and Bluetooth to the phone since you probably have your phone on you or close to you when you’re by the Xbox. Unless the pc is all there too…then like I said you would have to make sure sonar is using the Bluetooth device

I've done everything I could think of to troubleshoot this. To put it simply, my Discord is pointing to Sonar - Chat, but when looking at the Sonar mixer in the app, it's actually displaying the sound (and playing it) on the Game audio

Everything is set up correctly. It somehow sends the Sonar - Chat output from Discord to the Sonar - Game output of the GG Software.

I guess I’m not understanding what the issue is.

Think of Sonar game like your main audio, and sonar chat just as a separate channel of that audio that you can isolate and control in chat mix and EQ etc.

@small duneok that chat is for you to do chat mix it lets you blend a level for gaming and chat like discord but for that to work properly it has to be set to the headphones (arctis nova ) not the chat nor in discord it has to be set to sonar gaming doesn't matter what you think it's how it's been coded and routed

I'm not using the arctis nova. I'm using the arctis 9, which has dual audio for game and chat, to mix from the headset itself and doesn't need to open Sonar. The issue is also NOT between Sonar and my headset. The test from the chat output within Sonar is fine. My issue is getting the Discord audio to the proper Sonar output itself

The issue isn't linked to the headset, since it happens before the headset is ever involved. There's no reason to do anything with the headset.

See I could try to do Discord -> Sonar - Chat -> speaker I bought at Walmart. Never ever talking about the headset. It would still not play to that speaker, and the issue would still be the same, because the sound never makes it to Sonar - Chat.

Having a issue with the Arctic pro wireless when wired into the dock the mic doesn’t pick up any sound but the audio works fine this issue isn’t present when plugged in directly without the dock. So do I need a splitter for the headset?

Nope sadly. SideTone uses purely headset hardware which is handled through engine. Everything in sonar can sort of be thought of as "after effects" (sorta)

I just bought artic nova pro wireless and i plug in and it works right away buy my mic makes me sound like a robot how can i fix this i already tried trading it in for a new one incase it was a headset malfunction but the new one does it too. They did give my one that is for xbox and said it should work fine for pc. Could that be the issue?
