Please note, both of these tunes are bass-light. The goal was to maximize imaging performance for FPS and spatial awareness. The bass is actually close to flat, but to many it's bass light.

just to be clear, where are you turning on the live mic?

on SS headsets, the mic playback is called "sidetone" so you need to make sure that volume is all the way up, either in Engine or on the headset (for the headsets that have a sidetone wheel, like the 7P)

If you're just clicking the mic button in Engine, that's a mic test button, and will have a delay. But that button is only for testing.

The Xbox version is only different in that it also supports Xbox as well as PS, PC. Whereas, as I've mentioned previously, the other version does not support Xbox.

Features wise, they're 99 percent identicle

Including the MSRP is the same.

Future proofing is the main idea here in getting the Xbox version of the Nova Pro Wireless.

And, yes it works.

Also, PS5 plugged into the 'Xbox' USB port on the DAC does nothing.

Then you would simply switch to 'USB' input (PS4/5) from the DAC or remotely from the headset (depress and hold volume wheel) and PS4/5 chat will work per usual.

There is Input auto-switching but that works only when a connected device powers on.

The Nova Pro Wireless almost has it all and is highly intuitive.

Probably my favorite gaming headset I have ever used.

-turn off the KB (or unplug it) and close GG

It did prompt for the dongle to be updated as well - thats what was missing I guess. I Hope guys can (sorry if you are not an employee of SS) put this on your website as a guide for resetting the keyboard. The steps I needed to do was ->

1. Disconnect keyboard from usb cable in wired mode.
2. hold the mentioned buttons down and connect again. now keyboard is blinking red. I tried to wait it out - cant remember if it actually resetted or it just did after I disconnected and connected again.
3. I switched the keyboard to wireless 2.4G while I had the cable in and then proceeded to update it. and it worked.

I think my problem or solution to my problem was that it was updated with the switch being on wired mode and the SS GG may have thought the keyboard was the wired version.

My new SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 are not turning off after inactivity as configured. I have tried setting it to 30 minutes and 15 minutes and the headphones always stay on. Hi. After updating SSGG to 25.0, I've lost the ability to enable third party spatial audio from within windows for the Gaming device that sonar creates. Weirdly however, I can enable spatial audio on my chat device. I downgraded my software to 24.0 last night and the option to enable spatial audio returned.
Is there an issue with the latest update and Windows spatial audio?

In GG 25 the Gaming audio stream was upgraded to hi-res (24-bit/96kHz) and that likely broke compatibility with DTS and Dolby. You should reach out to DTS to see if there's a way to turn it on and/or to fix their compatibility.

it depends on what you mean by "fully compatible" since all headsets work with a lot of sonar's features (parametric EQ, other sound customization) but there's some features that are only available if you own a new Nova headset (like AI noise cancelling)

the arctis 9 comes with DTS which is separate from Sonar, so you will always have DTS to fall back on. Sonar also allows all headsets to use it's own surround sound, but you do need a Nova headset for certain surround sound customization features

It was updated to be like that in order to work correctly with PS, who knows if they will change it again to turn off when PC is off but depending on your motherboard you may be able to switch USB power off when shut down in the BIOS

Hi, could I check, whenever I used Steel to clip videos while my friends are on discord, their volume level are usually very soft on the clipped video. They are talking quite loudly on discord though.

If you're having issues with the audio over wireless then you should start by updating the headset firmware. If that doesn't fix the problem then setting a game EQ should do the trick. Reduce the low end (64hz, 180hz) and boost the midrange (500hz-1.4khz) then raise or lower the higher frequencies (3.9khz-11khz) as needed for raising or lowering things like gun shots and voices

annoying problem I'm having with Arctis Nova Pro: whenever it's quiet during a video I'm watching I hear a static noise similar to when two magnets come into contact. (if u remember those magnet toys u would toss up into the air and were shaped like a rice grain thats exactly the sound) When I have my volume bar set to -35db I will hear the noise constantly. This entire problem goes away when I activate the Sonar in the GG app. But I don't want to use Sonar because that also has a very annoying problem where it will switch the audio output when my headset turns off. very annoying when ur on discord or watching a stream and gotta switch your batteries yk? these problems appeared after the latest firmware update.

If there isn't any firmware updates available for the headset that could fix it then you could also try Sonar. It can sometimes fix weird hardware sound issues with the headset like the popping and hissing heard at lower frequencies on the Arctis 9 doesn't happen with Sonar even with the same EQ

Hello everyone, I hope I am in the right room for my question, and if it has already been asked, please forgive me. I have spent a lot of money building up a gaming setup and I am to the point where I would like to start capturing my game play and party chats from my PS5. I have replaced my old headset with the wireless version of the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro and I purchased the Elgato 4kpro MK II internal capture card for my pc. However, after recording a few of my games, there is no audio. Now I know there that’s there is some information on the net about fixing this since this seems to be an issue with the PS5, but it is very confusing on what I need to do, do I need an audio hdmi extractor? Do I get the Elgato Party Chat Link? What do I need?? If someone could please help!

Hello, I have a question regarding the chat mix for the Arctis 7+. When my wheel is locked in the middle, the chat mix is off-set slighty. Therefore when it's all the way up to mute the other audio track - it's not completely muted. Is there any way to calibrate this?

My friend has also pointed out that the microphone is severely worse on the 7+ than the 7 on Discord - is this just because of the frequency configuration? Whenever I test the microphone it seems perfectly fine/.

arctis 3 mic mute button does not mute the mic entirely, when it's muted the mic still can get sounds from anything. anyone has experienced/fixed this issue?

first when it's muted, the second case is not muted. when i watch video/listen music all the sounds go to the mic even it's muted. i've uninstalled sonar to see if it's about the software but nothing changed. it seems the mute button does not mute the mic completely.

What happened to omnipoint 2.0 support coming to our apex pro keyboards? Why are you now marketing it as a revision of the same keyboard as needing to be purchased. I'm currently having issues with my Arctis 3 on Windows.

Works fine on Linux, works fine on my iPad, works fine on my Switch, works fine on my iPhone with an adapter, but god forbid Windows.

Once upon a time, I had issues with just about any wired headset on my PC, but when i bought this headset last year, it solved all of my problems. I haven't used this PC in a while, but now that I'm back, it doesn't want to cooprtate with me. Discord can detect my voice, but nobody can hear me, and when I fiddle around in the settings, I can only be barely heard.

Assuming you have the correct ANC setting on, do you have an actual seal on your ear pads? Long hair, beards etc can prevent a good seal just as an FYI

Well yeah if your PC has Bluetooth just pair the headset like any normal Bluetooth device. Not sure why you would want to use the crappier connection on PC though 🤔 Bluetooth audio sucks for gaming

My friend has the 5 and her mic sounds way better than mine, which led us to believe the settings are messed up, the qualities are completely different, but for some reason in the audio properties I can't change the quality to like 2 channel studio or anything, the box is greyed out, and it only is greyed out for this headset

A wireless headset mic is going to sound noticeably worse than a wired headset mic. That's just a limitation of the wireless tech. It can only send so much bandwidth through to the receiver which is why the quality for all the wireless headset mics is locked to 16 bit 4800khz single channel. Having a dual channel mic improves the quality drastically, but it's just not possible over wireless

Basically, if you really care about mic quality you should get a wired headset because they will always perform better than wireless

Everything was fine for me until updating just an hour ago. Now, my headset won't work at all despite working perfectly fine before.

Ugh... it won't even recognize my mic in the list of devices now.

Both on Windows in general and on Discord.

Restarting and plugging in and out has it recognized in one of Windows menus but not the other, and only works when recognized as Realtek 2nd Output instead of Steelseries Gaming or Chat. ugh...

Alright. It's functioning... decently now. I'll do that if I really have to, but doesn't seem to be the case.

Idk why, but literally just restarting a few times and plugging in and out made Sonar automatically rebalance effectively.

What I’d recommend is maybe reinstalling gg and doing those steps again. This should ensure the firmware files on your computer are up to date and not corrupted. If this doesn’t work I would sadly recommend contacting support using this link, https://support.steelseries.com , and maybe they’ll replace it under warranty or be able to fix the issue better

Hey guys, just got my Apex Pro TKL 2023 and im getting this lighting issue. The lighting/OLED screen freezes every few seconds, but the keyboard functions normally. I contacted support and they had me reinstall GG, uninstall the keyboard drivers/reinstall them, and the issue still persists. What's also weird is when I press my meta layer key, the layered keys glow orange like normal, whether the regular lighting is frozen or not. Anyone experience this or have suggestions?

Hello, I'm having a problem with my Arctis Nova 1. The microphone picks up the audio from my headset and allows my friends to hear themselves and the videos I watch on the internet. I tried updating my audio in device manager and turning off listening to this device, but nothing worked.

Is your headset volume super loud? In game/discord etc you should be able to set the input sensitivity and adjust it to the point where it doesn’t pick up those sounds and only when you talk

ok can somebody pls help. i have an arctis nova pro wireless which i use as my stream headset . now, for the past weeks iv been using this on Output SONAR GAME at 48k hz samplerate. and it could not be changed on windows as it is greyed out. . And some of u may know obs gets
if your audio samples arent all the same. my problem now is just now i was streaminig and about to throw my laptop outta window beacause my granny can walk faster than i can move tne mouse poimter to a certain point. some how it went 96k hz and no other way or choices to drop it down to 48k together with my audio i&o. it just went like that . i was streaming earlier in tne morming it was fine. then when i started at night it just went crazy al of a sudden.

but on the dac it only says 48hz /16bit. how cool is that

A Marco allows you to record inputs like keyboard inputs/mouse inputs and do them on a push of a button. For example you could make a macro to say Hello and when you hit P on your keyboard it would type Hello

There was another video out there with the OBS set up as well, gotta search through the sonar reviews probably. I’m assuming you don’t have mic sidetone on in GG or any other feedback settings in other apps

Update: Going backwards and installing GG 23.1 and 24.0 respectively did not allow me to rollback the firmware on my device (Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox) in an attempt to solve the issue that Steel Series has broken for many Xbox Users and owners of the same headset.

The issue: Does not power off/sleep/turn off screen when plugged into the USB port of an Xbox console (XSX in my case) - in short: it no longer turns off unless you unplug from USB power.

My ideal solution: Add an option to the software to allow the base station to either sleep (with timer presets) or not sleep.

P.s. have submitted a ticket to Steel Series Customer Support and received a reply without a solution.

There are times where I will take the battery out from the charger, showing its full charge, and then put it in the headset and it saying its nearly dead

I'm not sure, it doesnt happen too often? I dont have any specific markers on either, they usually charge, and when I switch they're at 100%, but sometimes I go to switch, it shows the battery is at 100%, but when I put it in, its dead, like it never charged

hi! ive had my arctic 5 headset for almost 2 years and have had no issues so far. I recently got a new pc and just now downloaded GG so i could change the lights on my headset. I updated my headset using gg as it said it needed new software. i dont know WHAT i did but the audio quality is so so bad now. i checked control panel and restarted my pc and everything. ive even played around with the settings in GG but nothing, its still really bad.

it sounds like an old xbox headset like the audio just goes from quiet to loud and is not clear at all

I guess I've got some problems with the SteelSeries client, I had to uninstall it since it made my headset unusable. I uninstalled and that fixed it, which is a shame since I really like it.

I haven't messed with any settings really but it just started as I opened it while I was playing the other day, and I haven't been able to fix it until I gave up

Anyone else has this ?
I have the Nova Pro with DAC and 2 Systems, booth connected to USB.
Booth in Windows on 96Hz/24Bit but only the second System is showed as this, the other System is showed as 44Hz/24Bit.
Changed the cables, reset the DAC and reinstall Sonar but everytime the first system showed as 44Hz/24Bit.
May its only a bug and everything is set to the correct 96/24 but why its only on this System ?

You can make sure the sound devices are correctly set to default in the windows sound panned for playback and recording devices. There’s some screenshots above showing the correct way and also in sonar for game/chat/mic

@hazy anvildid you try resetting headset or unplugging it and plugging into a different port when you do that make sure you wait 10-20 secs before plugging it back in

@fresh sluiceit should come up on the dac if you have one otherwise open engine and where it says configuration and default either click on configuration or double click it will open your headset settings page

@halcyon hornetok do this uninstall it properly deleting the steelseries folders in programfiles programfiles(x86) programdat rebooting leaving your device unplugged reinstall gg then plug in your device open gg and login to your account open sonar activate it setting your device up as you want it then open settings and switch off the fallback ........ hopefully this will cure your problem

@analog tundraif your on about the latest sonar allowing 96hz then it should be present and selectable in the dac and in windows as for the wireless it is not possible as the wireless does not support it but that irrespective of your problem which is you want both to be 96 hz which i don't much about as i have the wireless version so what i would suggest is for you to do this first........uninstall it properly deleting the steelseries folders in programfiles programfiles(x86) programdat rebooting leaving your device unplugged reinstall gg then plug in your device open gg and login to your account and setup as per your connection guide then if still no go i would submit a ticket and ask a steelseries expert

I have a problem with my arctis 9 wireless, I get 0 audio from it when I have it as my main device for audio (game) but when I put my (chat) audio it starts working but the sound isn't eqed. I have tried putting chatmix 100% on game on the scroll wheel but still there is no audio at all.

Is there any fixes to make (game) actually have audio? They are brand new bought them like 1-2 weeks ago

You can search through this channel or the #sonar and see plenty of screenshots of how the audio devices in windows are supposed to be (defaults). Also, you need to make sure you audio devices are correctly selected in game and any apps you use input/output wise

@gloomy zenith@worldly edge ok guys can you please test your headsets with your mobile phone then you will see it's all down to settings within windows to correct this you need to make sure you have your device selected within sonar thats it nowhere else as when you select it in sonar it changes everywhere else except within other programs unless you let it like discord
