no, desktop capture is basically just the normal moments mode but it records everything on screen instead of just a game. you still need to hit the clip button to save the video.

Hello, I just found out why for some people the automatic clip system doesn't work on helldivers. It doesn't seem to take into account the Heads Up "Display (HUD) Curve" and/or "Heads Up Display (HUD) Scale" options in the game. And I kinda found this out because in game it doesn't work for me (I have curve set to 1.0 and scale set to 0.75), but apparently it is when I am watching someone's clip in fullscreen that it actually makes a capture, the common feature of when this occurs is that the hud curve and/or scale in the clip seen by moments is untouched.

In fact this behavior also occures when I am watching someone's stream on twitch

that's how a lot of moment's clipping works. it just watches your screen for events, so if you change the HUD, it won't see the events. this is also why moments only supports games in English and in 16:9, since other languages and resolutions would change the HUD locations.

I'm new here, but have been using Moments for a long time for clipping. However, I've had an OLED monitor for about 2 weeks now and I really want to use HDR with it. Unfortunately.... there are games like COD-Warzone where the clips are created with far too much contrast. I know it's because of the HDR, but there are games where it's not a problem.

sync refers to cloud sync, which has been deactivated for quite a while now, so that's not really related to installing issues

you can check the updates in settings > about. if that doesn't work you can always just download it from the website and rerun the installer, it'll install the latest version without erasing anything else

Moments worked when I first installed the app. Had a computer blitz and lost everything. New system up and running, but won't clip nodda! Says it is connected, says it is monitoring for 16 actions, but apparently I am doing everything but those 16! Loved the software when it worked. Originally got it for the Sonar, which mind you works flawlessly. Hopefully they will patch Moments as it was pretty awesome.

You also cant mute after the fact since moments only has 3 audio tracks , and since you didnt route audio prior, its mixed with desktop/game audio

Your settings are wrong when you think they are right, Sonar has to always be the default windows for both communications and chat, as well as mic input, then you select audio out devices and mic in in the mixer software , thats why its not capturing

Can anyone help with Moments not capturing clips? I have cleared more space on my 6tb external and it appears as if the software is acting up something in one of the updates must have caused this because I used to be able to record my halo clips at light speed without any issue. Press the settings button at the bottom in the software and go down to "Game Detection". If FiveM isn't on that list, press "Add game" and find where you stored the game on your computer and choose the file.

If this is too complicated (or you cant find it) you can head to "shortcuts" and make a shortcut for "Start/Stop Desktop Capture Mode" and press that shortcut when you launch FiveM and then use your preferred "Save new clip" shortcut to take a clip.

moments does have a built in mic mute hotkey with ALT+M. you can also just use the editor to cut out any parts like that, or use the separate audio track feature and just mute your mic on clips where you don't want them

Just used moments for the first time to export a clip. There is a major reason why I will go back to Geforce for game recording, which is the different audio levels. Im curious as to why with GG the audio layers are seperated (which is great, but flawed) and why cant you do this in moments? Seems like an easy addition to have multiple layers in the captured moment that is "Game, Chat, Media" audio levels.

I don't know if this is the right place to put this but I noticed that Honkai: Star Rail does not work with moments, yet Genshin Impact does. I have tried manually adding HSR and it does not work. Both games are accessed through the dev's own launcher, Hoyoplay. And I didn't have to add GI, the game was auto detected.

Here's the steps I suggest to manually add a game:

1. Launch the game you want to add. Make sure you FULLY launch the game past any launchers or server browsers. You need the actual game to be running for the next step
2. Open Task Manager and go to the Processes tab.
3. Right click on the game and click on "Open File Location"
4. Remember where this file is OR click on the file name in the top bar and copy the location
5. Go to Moments/Engine and manually add the game to open the file browser
6. Go the location found in Step 4, or paste the location if you copied it
7. Find the game .exe in that folder and click on it to add it

For Example: All the minecraft verions use the same file, and when I add that file to GG, sometimes it detects the edition and sometimes not. Should I just accept it that it's random or is there a fix for it?

There's no fix for that. Moments detects games via which .exe is running, so any Minecraft Java version will be considered active.

I guess you could reinstall Java to a new folder for each instance you want, but that's probably a bit excessive. Might be best to just assign a hotkey to toggle Moments fully and turn it on/off as needed?

I've found lunar client to work fine, but I only use 1.8.9 and I've saved the javaw.exe file to the games list.

I use this, and I've moved my discord to Media instead of chat. That way, I have both my spotify and discord able to be picked up in my clips
This does mean you need to be using sonar though
But I suppose your audio device being the default headphones should work

I have moments set to record 17 different things in COD MWII and MWIII and that seems to work fine, but I only caught two game play moments in the BO6 Beta, and moments does not seem to detect it when it is running. Shows COD game enabled when log into the MWIII menu but when I transition to BO6, game detection goes blank. Is there going to be a fix for recognizing BO6 when it is fully released?

Turn off Sonar in settings here

GeForce experience isn’t giving a fps loss as it does something with your gpu I’m not too sure how it works but moments records your stuff causing some performance drops depending on how powerful your pc is

I believe AMD has something equivalent too

There are a couple of possible factors for why it's happening:

1. Old GPU/CPU
2. A bug in the game
3. A bug in Moments
   For a starter, you can try downsizing the game's resolution to see if it reduces the lag

I got a 4070ti paired with an i7 13th never had an issue with my old 27 inch monitor I tried capturing at 720p it worked

But when I go higher it starts lagging again

So 1 got eliminated, it's likely either a bug in the game/computer for lagging due to Moments's high CPU load or a bug in Moments where in higher resolutions it's lagging due to a lack of optimization

Though as you can tell by my roles, I'm not affiliated with SteelSeries so I can't truly help 🙂

That’s really odd. Sometimes depending on the game it can take a while for moments to register that you’re pressing the inputs to clip so I spam it a few times and just delete the excess clips, if that doesn’t work I’m pretty sure you can always make a support ticket on the official website to get more help
