#💻-building-a-pc

i dont have a pc but i have money to build one but idk where to start
Currency?
gbp
So 1440p high refresh rate gaming, maybe ultrawide
Or 4k at a bit lower refresh rate
Which direction do you want to go?
When are you buying
after Christmas
Come back then
black friday maybe
Prices for stuff change a lot
yeah
hmm 1440p best for 24-27 inch monitor
4k is not neccesary for a monitor but you can get it if you want
it costs more tho
I’d get a 27” 4K monitor if possible. The smaller it is, the denser it is and will look better.
Not necessarily
If you want it to look better then get a monitor with 100% srgb, micro led with a good amount of local dining zones. 10 bit display with 1200-1600 nits peak brightness and HDR
Good 1440p > low end 4k
M27q good
Ish
For the price is good
1440p 170hz ips panel
Ya LG27GP850 is a good option
Depends what you view as better quality. But a 4K monitor is going to look better in terms of edges, text and smooth visuals.
hey guys will rx 570 i5 9600k lag csgo? i mean when i go in smokes with my gtx 770 it lags because im playing on 1440p so with rx 570 will it lag?
You again
Maybe
wait 12th gen is a thing
Yeah?
since when
Since like last week
damn
that's what LTT said
Is the 12700k worth it? I'm thinking of getting it
yes
the acer predator-x27-bmiphzx is decent i think
the local dimming isnt the best but at least its there
i dont know the price lol
yea its expensive af
what was the problem with the g9 neo again
I didn’t hear about one?
The problem is I can't afford it
Well that tbf 😂
g
no
no aternos
99.999% of the time it's a scam link or a kid trying to get you to join an affiliate link or something
That's no link that's a Minecraft server
Aternos is a free Minecraft server hosting website
I was asking if it was official or one he made
he made
H
I tried removing my motherboard power cable but it wasn't coming off and eventually the pin snapped off
What do I do now?
buy a new motherboard i guess
Get a replacement
All good I got warranty
Ok
Guys i remember this Girl thinking that lttstore.com was an ip grabber
LMAO
Lmao
Does a b560 board support ram oc
Yes
I mean.... all websites grab ur ip ig
the difference is IP Grabbers er usually there to do malicious stuff with your IP
True
Very cool
Understandable
£950 GBP
I just dropped $2k USD on a Dell prebuilt. Way over priced but I used to do work for Marvel/Disney so I kind of needed a new processor for the Win11 trust chip thing.
I've been eating sandwiches for like 2 months. but at least i'm eating xD
tbh i kinda seen the Price and the GPU and was like Getting before scalpers get it
RX6600
Honestly it wasn't 'that' bad. 3060ti+i7 unlocked and 32 gb of ram. I do animation and my 1050ti just wasn't cutting it anymore.
My next project is water cooling or finding a heatsink with a noctua fan i can fit in my case
I just game soo for me a ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB and rx6600 is fine for me compered to my old laptop which was a 950m i7 6700HQ
Oh yeah that'll do nice
I was looking at AMD but for whatever reason the more beefy build configs were intel only
Makes finding a watercooling bracket a bit of a hassle
@noble oak I personal still love Air cool, higher risk with watercooling IMO, even with AIO just water need CPU ( NO GO for me ) soo I still to pure AIR plus I like the look of them more
I'd go air cooler but the case is just dumb. they pretty much just slapped a mobo in a metal box and said done. Not enough clearance to put in any cpu heatsink that would be better than stock so AIO is the lesser of 2 evils.
I've watched like 3 hrs of youtube stuff prepping for this'
Y dell in particular tho?
In stock and since they make their own dell brand 30 series cards i was able to get a hardware warranty on it
Specs:
Most of the cost was the upgraded RAM and storage.
That hardware + a be quiet! air cooler + dual channel ram and an EVGA PSU is actually really good as far as prebuilts go. Cable management doesn't look half bad either and you can always upgrade that GPU once the market settles
Thanks, Ye I seen it and I was like with the GPU issue's I was like ** Grab it as soon as** TBH they done amazing job with building this up to, they enabled XMP for the RAM, and came with all the checks list to what they done, for £950 GBP I'm happy with it, getting way more performance I actually hoped for
Yeah that's actually not a terrible price given the current state of things lol
the ONLY 1 issue is windows 10 😂 being like BUY ME when I already own it before on my laptop
why is the colour orange red
11400f better
And cheaper in my country
My pc specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor
Corsair iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Samsung 980 Pro 250GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Samsung 870 QVO 1 TB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive SSD
Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair RM (2019) 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
currently running with a 1030ti but imma upgrade it to either a 3060ti or a 3070
Nice
Why did you get the 250 gb 980 pro
That thing sucks
just for a fast bootup
And i think an sn550 would have been better instead of the 870 qvo
The 250gb variant for most sdds suck
i thought the sn550 was gonna be more expensive as it was a m.2 so i didnt really look into it
but now im looking at the specs and price it is much better
pog
Only things I question are the SSD's, everything else looks good
nvm others already said that
not really lol
not a single item in there has normal value
or being bad
what storage devices would you guys recommend? for a similar sort of price? preferably not hdds
sn550
Ye I look at the specs its better but its Intel, and with all of the issue's when i used their CPU (Specture/Meltdown ) All AMD allows for overclocking & unvolting Intel locks it all, Freedom to do what i want
Plus supporting AMD atm over Intel it more importent giving AMD my money to put into beating/improving CPU we seen what Intel did when they had nothing to compete with
or just a higher capacity 980
Corsair Elite Capellix a bit overpriced but the RGB is probably a stylistic choice
Wait
holy shit
it's twice the price of the Arctic Freezer II 240
(At least where I live)
10400f > 11400f tho
12600k 💀
Compared to 5600X it's bussin
basically the price of about a 5600x with almost 5800x peformance
yeah but you cant compare those cpus tho
since they dont belong in the same price category
I find it very hard to keep up with PC spec & know what type of balance rigs works well together
Wait did WD silently change their products again?
Same price, what about motherboard and ram lol.
12th gen supports ddr4
M.2 can be cheaper than sata drives
yeah
Ahh
Some people don't like the aesthetic of the Arctic freezer ii
Even though it is a great cooler
It does yes
Ye I don’t really like it, but it’s cheap and Great performance so I’d still rather have it over an air cooler.
best 34" curved monitor under $700-800? preferably 2k/4k with high refresh, but I prefer color accuracy to resolution. Normally I'd go for a MSI Optix MPG341CQR but it's getting a bit on the old side and I'm wondering if there's something newer & better for the price?
lg 34gp83a-b
Bit over my budget but one to keep in mind I suppose, thanks
If you want it to look good then get the nzxt x63 or something
air coolers are the same as aios lmao
That’s exactly what I did 😂
As a 240mm yes. With a 280mm or larger it’s benefits start to show.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
H
yes
Oh yeah, just an example of a cooler with good value
I like the look of it
I don't like the look tbh but I'm getting it anyway
because my pc is gonna be in a desk cabinet thing out of sight so to me it doesn't matter
ah ok
fast test render on my 3d model apex pro
oooooooooooooooo
thats nice
i have an apex 3 myself
I have a apex pro my self
nice
That's cool
Good idea, i can 3d model things i want SS to make!
hi
Hi
I need help i'm trying to undervolt and overclock but the AMD software only undervolt when I dont overclock, msi afterburner wont let me touch volt
it wont let me do both :/
Built my new pc. Started getting random freezes. Tried a new ssd and power supply computer still freezes
Tf do I do now? New motherboard?
I used the MSI MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS Motherboard
Now I'm looking to get the asus Z590-A Prime
Also my ram doesn't light up but works?
I have 16gb ram do I need 32gb instead?
might not be seated properly or not fully compatible, I would swap the RAM before trying a new MoBo
Ayt
hmm ok
check gpu and monitor
Gpu and cpu are fine
i remember having a similar problem
Actually doing that upgrade soon, just checked this and the price is £686 now haha
hi
hi? lol
Maybe reseating the ram would work
@queen violet gtx 1080 and rtx 2060 for about the same price which is more better??
not a huge fan of rtx but dlss i like
but doesnt gtx cards support amds fsr
??
yeah, it's just really not as good
actually my monitors are 1080p 200hz and other is 1440p 75hz
i usually play csgo valorant and other competitive games on 1080p
and i play single player titles on the 1440p display
atleast i plan to on 1440p display since the card i have now will die
everthing does
but fsr isnt nearly as good
ya but shudnt a 1080 be able to render 1440p on almost all games above 60fps on low and 30fps on high/ultra??
Depends entirely on the game
depends on the game
but yes in most cases it should be able to do 1440p high/medium 60fps
most upcoming games will prolly depend on dlss performance rite
If you want to get > 100fps yes
But with a 75hz monitor should be able to run that native
ya
in rare cases fsr can come in clutch
Depends on what kind of settings you want to run and the kind of performance you want. If you want to run ultra on every game at 144+ FPS then go with a 6800XT, if you don't care about ultra and want to run medium-high 1440p at 100+ FPS then go with the 6700XT. Honestly though these days it mostly comes down to what card you can get your hands on and how much you're willing to pay https://youtu.be/OMjgFJBRHVY
Resizable BAR aka Smart Access Memory was enabled for all GPUs
System Spec:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - Overclocked using ClockTuner for Ryzen 2.1 RC3
Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS
RAM: 4x8GB G.Skill Trident Z 3466MHz CL16 @ 3800 MHz CL16-17-16-34-324
GPU: Powercolor Radeon RX 6700 XT Red Devil - Stock performance bios
GPU: Powercolor Ra...
Buy a 1050ti
Whatever is available lol
But both can do 1440p well
The 6800xt just means ultra settings in literally every game, and ray tracing is sort of an option.
thanks im aiming for 1440p and 6800xt is kind of out of budget

true
Yeah I'm very glad I got my 6800XT before the prices shot through the roof
I am probably going to build a pc and I got the parts but I am scared for 2 things
The motherboard**(Gigabyte A520 Aorus Elite (rev. 1.0) Motherboard ATX)might need BIOs update Because I will get the Ryzen 5 5600X
I was talking with someone who's job is building computers and coding and he said that he is avoiding Gigabyte because has had gigabyte parts die early so now I am scarred for my GPU(Gigabyte VGA GeForce RTX 3060 Gaming OC V2 12 GB)**as well
Why did you send it with spoilers
but for the most part it's just very specific psus that gigabyte makes
I'm using a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite in the build I did in last December and I've had no issues with it. Plus Gigabyte boards have the BIOS flashback feature where you don't need a CPU or RAM to update the BIOS. Just download the latest bios package onto an empty USB drive and plug that into the marked BIOS flashback port on the motherboard. Just plug the board into a PSU and press the button. It'll have specific instructions for doing it so you don't mess it up
the rest of their stuff is generally fine
i have a b550i aorus pro ax and it's fine
And I've had a Gigabyte RX 460 GPU for like 6 years and it's still going strong even with an overclock. In general most of Gigabyte's stuff is fine, it's just their RGB software that's terrible
idk I just put them there😂
makes it a bit harder to figure out what you're talking about
Yeah that was weird
there, fixed it
👍
so I should be fine
yes
Yep
and it may not even need a bios update
ok thanks 👍
True, most of the boards now are probably shipping with the Zen 3 bios, but it's always good to double check
Zen 3 is a year old at this point so unless you just happened to get a motherboard that's been sitting on the shelf for 2 years or more you shouldn't need to worry about the BIOS
The only slight issue I’ve found having an x570 tomahawk/decent motherboard is, if I just have pbo enabled it runs my cpu balls to the wall.
I got 133W drawn in OCCT stock with my 5600x
Its arguably better for stability to get a cheaper board lol
if you run pbo you should also undervolt
I have
and i would disagree with that last statement, generally higher end boards will have more features/better management so you can tune
My cpu has a broken core however, so I have to run it at +10 voltage to stay stable
And running a manual frequency increases degradation, so I’m auto boosting to 4.65ghz due to the headroom.
Ye a better board is much better, except when you get a crappy cpu than can’t handle the motherboard’s voltage and current supply.
I sorta wish pbo would allow you to set a pbo clock offset for each core. That would be extremely useful for me.
if the cpu can't handle the motherboard voltage, then the motherboard can just...send less?
you'd run into the same issue with a cheaper motherboard
My issue is, I’m not exactly sure how pbo works but the auto limits seem to be based around the motherboard, because other people with different motherboards but similar cooling to me don’t seem to have their CPU’s pushed so far while stock.
yeah each manufacturer has different ways they set voltage
but that's not the point
unless you're running into an issue where a motherboard won't/can't deliver a certain voltage
The actual voltage delivery isn’t the issue as far as I’m aware
It’s probably the default current limits I think.
I never thought I’d have to set a 100W power limit for a 6 core chip with an undervolt.
gigabyte is notorious for setting their voltages higher than specified
but still, you can get to the workable point with the more expensive motherboards
whoops
Why did you say whoops
AAAAAAAAAA
Perhaps
This is giving me headaches
What is
Guys, crowd sourcing to get a new gpu. Shops here where I live have notoriously high prices even with MSRP, problem is the only cards I see available are the 1650 super and the 6600XT. Any input on this would be highly appreciated.
I don't really run anything on ultra high graphics as it makes me nauseous, don't play AAA titles and mainly play older games like Planetside 2, Destiny 2, SC2 and WC3 Reforged.
6600xt is always going to be better, higher refresh rates might help with the nausea too. And you’ll be able to keep it for longer before replacing.
Sankyoo @queen violet Will a 450W bronze rated psu suffice for it or should I also change it?
It’s certainly not ideal, but probably won’t explode with a 6600xt
As long as I don't OC the darn thing right?
Yep
Well, stock it’s around 180W on its own
- system you’ll be into 300W most likely
Thank you, o great sage of computing parts
Np Bud 👍
My ram is terrible
relatable
Can't even do 3733 cl18-22-18-21-40-72
me who only knows that my ram is 3200mhz
Almost as bad as mine
You have Arshia friended 😳
My only flex is I’m getting these soon
My aim in life is to have Krunk Friended
whats his tag
Finally.
Congrats
Thanks
I went from a old optiplex (I7 3770), to a HP desktop (r5 3400g), to a hp pavilion gaming desktop (4600G, 1660S), to the a520 build (same specs) to now the b550 build
my 4000D airflow will arive soon along with my ram
Ive wanted to build a pc, but i dont have the moneys
Idk
oh
Hmm
Don't do that
do what
Spam the chat from multiple accounts
im lonely 😦
He hasn’t been on Discord in a month, I’m worried for him.
Congrats dude
Hey, does anyone reccomend any sub-$1000 computers?
USD?
yeah
Laptop or desktop?
prefereably desktop
bUilD yOur oWn
Or don't
Lol, idk any prebuilts that are good in that price range
I stopped looking at prebuilts a while ago
Does anyone know the highest memory clock speed that an Intel core i5 6400 supports?
I have a 2400MHz stick that causes instability
That what I thought
Huh
Have a 16GB stick of a higher clock speed and it causes crashing
If it’s not supported it’s most likely only running at 2133
It’s just either the ram itself or the cpu memory controller is struggling
Maybe it wasn’t happy with 2 sticks of different sizes and clock speeds
Good job, nice build
huh
either the 2133mhz ram is trying to run at 2400mhz or the timings for the 2133mhz ram are tight and the 2400mhz ram cant get the same timings
or something else
is this a good build?
please ping me with opinions or anything you'd change, i'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff so input would be cool! if i could save any money anywhere but still get the same performance or better, that'd be cool to know!
(honestly not the biggest fan of the design of the corsair case this build uses, if someone could point me towards a case with the same compatibility without the funky design on the front that'd be awesome!)
I was running a 16GB stick clocked at 2400MHz and a 8GB stick clocked at 2133MHz. Basically my memory controller was unhappy
ah ok
Yes
Which one is more worth it? 5800x(or g) or 5900x? I plan on doing a lot of gaming, quite a bit of 3d modeling, and some general use
5800x runs hot just keep that in mind
Ah ok
Probably get an arctic freezer ii 280 with that
Put the gpu in the top slot
Lol why did he put it on the 2nd slot
Top slot can have higher bandwidth
I do have to say mate, move it to the top slot, it’s best practise too, the latency and performance and best with the top slot.
nah not really i got the 5800x runs between 47-60
I thought it did not run hot?
I was thinking this one
It looks fucking ugly tho
This looks good but idk if it’ll perform good
I play fortnite comp trynna get 240 capped fps
3080 and 5900x will crush
It doesn’t 47-60 isn’t high for a cheap air cooler
Seems excelent on paper, cpu and gpu will crush all games right now.
Never heard of the brand tho
That third one is probably the best option
With a custom loop? Or idle?
Depends on the cooler but most 5800x cpus (including mine) get past the 90 degree mark with cinebench r23 with a 240mm aio
Maybe the Arctic freezer ii or the lian li gallahad would fate better but my measly h100i struggles under load
Damnn
What’s ur power draw like?
And have u messed around with pbo limits and curve optimiser
not mine it only hit 60 while gaming and i got a cheap air cooler the cooler master 212
Indeed
The 5800x seems to have wildly inconsistent temperatures
I'm getting a pc from alternate for 3,6k it has an rtx 3080 and a ryzen 9 5900x in it
@queen violet Green Day is based
Yes it is.
Lucky
Your language is like a funny version of german
i understand half of the words but they make me laugh so hard somehow
It mainly in the 54 while gaming hardly hits 60
Bruh
Yours runs hot huh?
What’s a good monitor that isnt like super expensive?
LG ultragear has pretty good options
1080p, 144hz, ips is usually pretty good price
thanks
yes
really hot
and i have 2
they both hot
the one in my main pc is hotter
its the worst one
its unstable at -11 pbo which is really sad because other 5800x cpus can do at least -15 or -20 stable
and core 1 is like 75 degrees when idle
That seems like the kind of airflow engineering only Dell has the expertise to create
dang
i know right
the rest of my cores hit like 83 degrees under load
and like 50-55 idle
Sounds like bad paste application
gpu not running at 16x GB B450M ds2H gpu in top slot (16x slot) and kep pcieX16 to auto and slot auto
The only difference in temps between cores should be curve Optimiser which would reduce temps depending on the numbers you’ve set.
Repasted it 3 times with different types of paste
Interesting
Probably an IHS issue
Although, what’s the average clock on that core, and average voltage?
That core is either at 3850mhz or 4725mhz with a slight load but yea voltages can spike up to 1.43v but that's normal
I'll set pbo limits and ill probably be fine
My cpu gets up to 90 under load... but it is a laptop so thats fine
oh ok
Ight boys so i’m getting this build
Buying it in 2 days and then its finished in 2 weeks
They take 2 weeks to build it
Idk if its a good build if not make sure to tell me what not to buy or even what i should upgrade
How tf?
Yeah
Hopefully this build will get me like 240 capped fps in fortnite scrims etc
Since the pc i have rn is fucking pissing me off
I wasn’t planning on getting a pc then my parents randomly told me get a pc budget 3,5-4k
So didn’t know what to get since prices are overpriced as hell rn
Defo will
it a tough time to buy or builds but if not on my dime why spare the expense. lol
im gonna build one eventually but i dont know crap about building a computer
feel free to ask here
can you build a pc or prebuilt
and which country
the performance is fine
the cost is not great
picked this up though, crazy deal
wait a minute, $150 discount? so like, you paid $29.99 for it?
That’s like the same price as an SN850?
How do they make sales without the discount?
What do you mean?
Hey, I would like to know with the Arctis Pro Wireless
if the jack and the usb come out on the same source or 2 separate. Thx ❤️
A 2tb Gen 3 drive being the same price as a 2tb Gen 4 drive doesn’t sound very economical to me
Line in/out is on a separate source I think, but you can only use one at a time, so pc + phone or PS4 + phone, not pc + PS4
But you can do pass through stuff or whatever I’m not really a sound guy.
I just want to get my APW asap
ok, so, line in and usb can be heard in same time ?
Where are you getting a sn850 2tb for 180
I was referring to the MSRP
180 is an incredible price
Yeah, inflated like I said
Ahhh fair enough.
DDR5 companies right now be like
Atleast the APW is on sale, and so is my soon to be Trident Z royal
TridentZ royal is nice
wow
my 1tb 970 evo plus cost more than thagt
Price of old tech usually drops eventually
well a soo far 200Mhz core overclock
Let see if i can reach 300mhz
Which cpu?
gpu
RX 6600 ( Non XT )
Nice
low/mid range altho with all the GPU price issue I could say its High end

I only payed MSRP for it £300 or soo
altho it overclock like mad ( Memory 1750 to 1900
Core 2574 to 2700
Have you tested it with any gpu stress test applications?
Yep, Furmark/Heaven/Normal games
Check for anysigns of overheating Package Temps is 58c but Jtemp at 71c
I would get a 3060
It is just overall better at this point of time in my opinion
Depends
what are you going to use it for?
10700k has higher multicore, but probably lower single thread
If you wanna spend a little more I would go with the 10700k
I compared them and it wins in almost everything
4.3Ghz on a 3600 1.1V at 60c soo far
wait i'm confused can someone explain why I'm now getting stable 1.1v ( When i'v not touched Volts ) but when it was at Stock 3.6ghz Ryzen 3600 it was spiking at 1.45v but somehow changing the base clock to 4.3 make it go to 1.1v ?
Yes
That's because that's an all core oc
At stock your cores aren't all at 4.3 ghz
I just installed AMD master soo I can lock the volt at 1.1v anyways 4.4ghz at 1.1 crashed but 4.3 at 1.1 is fine
guess I was not as stable as I tho
Prime95 did not like it,
stable at 1.2v witch is still a lot less then what it was going at
it was going at 1.45V and hitting 91c
go it under 85c but i rarely ever full max out my CPU
is the core i7 good?

Don't know about that
i7 processors have always been considered one of the best choices for Intel builds when going for high-spec, up until recently with the release of i9 the i7 was the highest spec processor you could get from Intel's Core™ lineup, next step up from that used to be enterprise Xeon processors for servers and workstations.
each generation has multiple variations, from the mobile and low power versions for laptops, to the standard desktop/server options, to the high-spec overclockable and unlocked versions. For most desktop gaming things the unlocked and extreme variants are preferred, these are the K and X variants. The suffix at the end of the model number is the variant. (list here: https:// www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/processor-numbers.html)
so yes, Core™️ i7s are generally good processors
just go for a newer (10 thru 12th) gen if you're looking to buy new, these should last a minimum of 5-10 years, if previous generations are anything to go by
Ryzen 7 tho...
ah
5800h moment
lmao
i7-9750H moment
Can u just list them?
Can I list them or take a photo pls
I can’t open that file
That's pretty stacked
😳
i think 1000 watts its a lil too much
but yeah, better too much than cutting power mid game
I run my rx 6900xt and r9 5900x on 850 lmao
no start with the hard drive'
Do not listen to pookie
Bruh
Still building
First time tho
I cant figure out where tf i need to plug my aio cooler on the motherboard
B550
@queen violet
Could you help
Aio should be plugged in after mobo is mounted in case
If u already did that then cool
It should be an AIO header or a pump header
Ok
Right circle is the pump, left circle is for fans
Should have went with different motherboard but that’s ok
Like asus b550 or asus x570
msi b550 a-pro?
msi pro-vdh?
msi bazooka?
if its not one of those its either overpriced or bad
Ok
From what ive seen, asus is generally best, followed by msi, then gigabyte, then asrock
Yea I think asus best also the looks as well
I dont care about looks. Bring back the old green boards for all i care
Should be similar to my X63. So add paste to the cpu. Then use the mounting screws to Mount it to the motherboard
You’ll then likely need to plug the pump header into the motherboard
And possibly a usb or SATA power cable
Im at school rn
Imma finish the build whenever i get home
I haven’t done a lot tho i’ve only put my cpu, ram and aio on my motherboard
Yeah forgot to mention that done that already
Ok, time to put the motherboard in, then Mount the rad at the top of side of the case
i have no idea why my motherboard was like Here 1.4v into my cpu by default
i'v manual turned it down to 1.15v
maybe i'm dumb but why is a lock freq speed use less volt then a dynamic Freq
4.1 default all core = 1.43v
locked 4.3 = 1.2v HOW!
Because locked is a terrible idea on amd
It reduces performance and in increased degradation
B-Die + Ram Fan
lol
her voltage is definitely above 1.55
prolly 1.7
that was manual OC to 4.7ghz but task manager said 5.17 when i opened wallpaper engine
ye manual is really not a good idea on amd
Yo guys
Cpu idle is 50 degree
That normal?
Finally build my pc
Took 11 fucking hours
First time tho
thats idle
What is it under load?
If it is a good temp under load, it doesnt matter
My cpu idles at 50 and can hit almost 90 at load
Yep normal
u overclocked right?
yes for a ryzen 9 yes
let me check mine
im studying and i have 41 celcius atm
with the same cpu
really depends on coolers, the case and place of the case.
think difference of load makes it
ight
Yes
Nice bruvv, u see performance changes?
F
i dont trust to overclock my own cpu tbh
a
just use pbo if ryzen
pbo?
i have a ryzen 9 5900x btw
I heard abt msi dragon center gaming mode
is that a good one or nah
not sure about that
auto oc in general is bad
True
yeah ik, can be used for just normal things like monitor colors and that stuff
I OC my 750ti to gain 1% in userbenchmark a while ago lol
I have an msi motherboard and monitor
Ah
🎉
same
idk how people can make from 144hz 200hz
got mine to 169hz
cus it aint possible
I dont see the point
it can be handy
True, but if you can make from a 144hz a 200 one
Thats crazy
But idk how
I feel like not borking my monitor rn
I can’t tell much of a difference between 240 and 144
I can, but monitor oc isnt that big of a jump
Depends how much fps u play, but there is a kinda big difference
True

yes
amazing
Ryzen master is supposed to be good i think
OC cpu?
gpu?
ram?
lmao
O dont oc ok?
Ye
Its dumb to me cause it wacks timing and such
the clock speed
But tbh im happy with my ram
Ye
yes
32gb 3600mhz
3200 is plenty fast, never been ram speed bottlenecked
so i think
you overclock ram frequency and tune timings
I dont think i need gpu oc tbh
what gpu
No
msi laptops have good bios
someone got 14775 in r23 with an 11800h
my 5800x got 15389@4.65ghz
Thats cpu
Nvidia sets maximum wattages on gpus
Plus, it will just hit thermal limits
like it auto do things for you?
its in amd overclocking \ pbo settings \ curve optimiser
then set it to per core or per ccx
then set the offset to negative and type any value between 10-30
probably start with 12
make sure its a negative offset
what pbo does is it lowers the voltage by a slight amount and allows the cpu to hit higher frequencies for longer periods without throttling
Undervolting with other words
yes
Hello 👋
Um I recently bought pc parts but I still need a monitor a mouse and keyboard, any recommendations for the decent cheap in price monitor And a laptop quiet keyboard (I work graveyard shift and people be sleeping when I'm gaming on my days off) ? I spent my money on the tower part sadly so now I'm broke
could someone possibly maybe put together a pc part list for 3k ish (usd)? i want to save up for a high end pc but i know absolutely nothing about what parts i should get lol
ok
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/v8gb4d
it really depends on what you want do get
this parts list seems ok
but im not quite familiar with the US market so not sure if its the best price to performance
also you are gonna have to try find a gpu for a good price
does not respond
only thing i would change is cpu, and ssd
What's wrong with the ssd?
r u gonna switch it out for a P5?
Or a 970 evo plus
But the p31 is good ssd
12600k???
yeh
Yea thats also good
it is good, but if you want best of the best..
Wouldn't that be unnecessary. Most people would hardly notice a difference and the extra cost isn't worth it. But then again we were $300 under budget
that ram tho
💀
it is 3600mhz but couldn't find it
never had a problem with this ram, idk why people hate it
as i said, never had a problem.
i tbh like it
and with icue software it connects nice with my coolers
fans
blocked
😂
what was wrong with them?
I found it
let me add it, 3s
The timings and ram sucked for OCing was worse than regular cjr
Also that kit is 3600cl18-22-22-42
yehh, but im not planning to OC it
But that ram is awful even if you aren't gonna oc
I got my faulty 3200mhz kit to 3600cl18-19-19-19-38
Ur ram makes me wanna cry
But at least it's not afr die
Yea i haven't opened my 2nd kit yet because im gonna return it because of those timings
"5.20: Hynix 4Gbit AFR Confirmed" anyone who has this ram, i feel bad for them
I have it
And it’s fine
It’s one of the only products I don’t regret buying for my pc
AFR can have some alright bins
Can someone tell me what this cable is nd where to plug it in? It’s connected to an aio fan
Looks like a 4 pin fan cable
Should go into the motherboard cpu fan header
@queen violet so the other cable that was attached to the fan would be the rgb one?
it looked similar just without the things on the side and it had 3 pins in a 4 pin looking thing
That’s 3 cables coming out of the back right?
its not one of those ones
One of what?
These are the cables im confused about
i know the one that im holding on top is the fan cable
but whats the boittom one
One is for fan speed, one is for rgb power
Just trying to work out which is which
Which aio is it?
@queen violet lian li's galahad aio 240
Ok so is this coming from the fans or the pump? @obtuse pendant
fans
The 4 pin connector is for fan power/control
The 3 pin is for rgb
there's also a cable from the pump that looks like the bottom cable in the latest photo, but with 3 pins
is that also for rgb
The 3 pin one that looks the the fan power/control is for the pump
The wierd looking one form the pump is the rgb one
ok
now which ports on the mb do these go
im sorry for wasting so much of your time btw
Pump goes to pump header
Np bud I’m happy to help
Fan power/controls go to the motherboard chassis headers
Because there is you might need a splitter if you don’t have 3 chassis headers
could the aio fans go to the sys_fan_pump ports
Pump port is for the aio pump
Which motherboard is it?
I’ll take a look in the manual to see which ports to use
aorus b550 pro ac
Hi
Ok so pump header goes System Fan Pump 5 or 6 whichever is better
ok
You then have a Cpu Fan + Opt header for the aio fans
Np Bud, have a good day 👍
@queen violet and just double checking
the one with the claw things on the side is the fan cable
NOT the rgb
right?
Double check which has which number of pins
The claw one had 3 pins from what I saw
That means it should be the rgb connector
i am here
What do I do now? I finished the build, and I don’t know what this means
Do you have a usb stick with windows on?
If you don’t you’ll need to create a boot media on a usb
: (
Learn how to create installation media for installing or reinstalling Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.
Thanks Saucy
here my OC result
@obtuse pendant do you still need help?
i got it fixed with a dvd drive dw :)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JmRVt8 would this be a good pc config? I want to build a pc for 1440p gaming and doing productivity work like blender and stuff, so would this be good for that?
And if it isn’t, what would u change?
yeah this would be perfect for 1440p, prob 4K too, if you want to shave off some money go for a Ryzen 7 5800X
^
the 5800x has a better single thread performance and a much better price being its newer, you might have to update bios but for $180 less, its worth it
Either go intel 12th gen
Or 5000 series amd
I’d have to recommend 12th gen at the moment.
its b die
I have the almost the same config
A ryzen 9 5900x and rtx 3080
Yes
Well
Not guaranteed
But highly likely
But way tooo expensive
I’m getting 2x16gb of 3600 cl14 Trident Z royal for £270(B-Die)
There is no operating system present
That is very expensive for 16gb
I agree
16gb of ddr 4 should be $80 not $280
I paid $160 for 32gb 3600mhz CL16 Trident Z lmao that vengeance ram is way overpriced
90 for crucial 16gb 3200mhz
Same
Crucial has been good in my experience
Yeah I've been running Crucial SODIMMs in my laptop for about 3 years now. They're pretty good Unfortunately first gen Ryzen mobile locks RAM speed to 2400mhz instead of 3200, but it's still a solid performer
I dont overclock, so a good crucial kit will save me money while still performing
I am in Australia
a
Look at this thing
Bruh
Do you think it can do 3600cl12-14-14-14-28?
way better for cheaper
Do you know what parts I should pick then?
my list...?
If you have one that would be cool ye
not as if i literally just send you one..
Man
Thx
it didnt paste, noice
Very noice
Not that motherboard
@slate jasper
Don't get that mobo
You need to wait till bios update f7a releases then you need to flash bios
F6a released on some of the the aorus boards but not this one. If your bios version is f4 or f5a then there are issues with ram and PC crashing. Get the msi z690 a pro or something
Also get a p31 or crucial p5
Sn550 was nerfed
Also mans getting a 12900k it wouldn't hurt to spend a little extra on good storage
Just realised that these messages were sent 4 hrs ago
p5 is overpriced,
true but since mp33 is same price., sn550 >
on top of that, wouldent even need it, or at least get still smth non overpriced
slightly
maybe
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/T6V2qp what do you think about this(cpu and motherboard prices are from ebay, 2070 super is a stand in for a tesla m40 because they have the same tdp. A second gpu is required for display out)
Yeah
2400 because the cpu cant take more than 2400
Im suprised that you are not suprised about the gpu setup
oh
Read the parenthesis
huh
Over 4000 cuda cores for 150... and the price of no display out
are you gonna be mining?
ohh
The 80 mil fans are for the gpu because server gpus like teslas have no fans
ah yes i rember
Not the place
it was deleted
amazing
Lmao
We need to pin that
