I thought that was the whole point of the Omni switches

The omnipoints change distance at which the switch actuates and detects a keypress. Some switches have a faster or slower actuation, but that will come from a different length of the stem pole. With the omnipoints they can actuate at a different length, but won't replicate anything else. All gateron switches will have the same actuation distance so nothing changes between them. My point is that the omnipoints are just as similar to any other gateron switch as, for example, the reds are.
